Sam was amazing with answering questions with quick response and always communicating any changes or updates through the long process. We had dealt with other estate agents before this where we had no idea what was happening and minimum contact. I would choose this company in the future as they understand the importance of communication and looking after their customers. Thank you so much!

Rude and arrogant. Called to enquire about a property. The answer to every question I asked was "Look online" I immediately understood all the 1 star reviews of this place. The info I wanted wasn't listed online. I wanted to know if the information saying that the flat had two allocated parking spaces was correct. My suspicion was that it wasn't. She just kept repeating "look online" like an angry robot. Gave up and just booked a viewing instead. A lady the spit of Kim Woodburn (and I'm not being rude here I mean identical to the point im still not convinced it wasent her) turned up and did her best impression to show how inconvenient this viewing was for her. She offered zero information. She just stood there looking angry. She let me wander round and round the place on my own in total silence. She just stood there. Motionless. Cold. Hosile. As someone who has always loved Kim Woodburn and if I'm honest, always wondered what would happen if we ever found ourselves alone in a room together, I was more than disappointed. This was NOT what I had in mind. I even resorted to taking a pretend business call halfway though the viewing to try and make Kim see I was important, and shouldn't be treated so poorly. It didn't work. I don't have a buisness. I just called my own voicemail and left a 3 minute message repeating variations of "buy low, sell high" and ending with "tell Steve I'll play high stakes racketball with him in Zurich" Crazy. If anything, after the brief call she treated me with even more distain than before, when I was a nobody. :( Had a good look round the advertised "ground floor flat" which was located on the first floor. Asked the silent Kim how many underground parking spaces does this flat have? She told me it has 2. I asked to see them. She said you've only got 15 mins to view the property. I checked my watch. (I wear a watch) I said that's fine, I still have 5 minutes left. She huffed, in that classic telltale way that Kim does, and told me to go downstairs and have a look. There was one parking space and a communal bin storage. I left. If you're at a loose end and your time is as worthless as mine, book yourself in for a viewing somewhere. Just find somewhere listed near your actual home and book yourself a slot. I know some people pay money to eat at Karen's Diner when the staff will be rude to you and make you feel insignificant, but if your unemployed and short on cash you can get the same experience from these guys for free. Its only 15 mins and I promise you wont regret it. Honestly, give these clowns a call sometime. Ask a question. Its hilarious. Unless you actually need an adult conversation to do with housing. Then my advice is avoid like the plague and go elsewhere.

I've been renting through archers now for 5 years and they're brilliant. I really can't understand the negative reviews at all, although they appear to be from disgruntled people who didn't get the property they wanted. There's always lots of applicants for properties around the area they serve - it's incredibly popular, so not everybody will/can get the property! It's unfair to then write poor reviews about the letting agency, especially as, ultimately, it's down to the landlord who gets the place. As somebody who actually rents from them... I can say they're fantastic. Everybody who I've dealt with has been really friendly and genuinely nice people. Shelley is awesome to deal with and really makes me laugh. If there's ever any issues she's on it literally within minutes. 10/10. Thank you for being great :D x

I would expect a letting agent to be welcoming, however myself and partner got the impression she was looking down her nose at us. I have cancelled further viewings with Archers because of this.

Friendly and helpful estate agents

We sold our house recently with Archers Estates and I was very impressed with their service, from valuation right the way through to our completion. Communication was excellent at all times, particularly when it came to booking viewings via the app - it was very helpful to have all the information about prospective buyers in one place. Photos of the property were excellent and very professionally done - we were particularly impressed with the 'walk-round' tour aspect of this.

Went in one morning and asked if they could help us find somewhere to rent, we’re both young and new to it. The women, as soon as we walked in, just dirty looked us, and just said ‘ just look on right move’ never have I ever been looked at and spoken to like that. She was up her own arse if I’m being completely honest, we drive past every day to get to work and thought maybe they’d be able to help us. I’m pretty sure she could have been a lot nicer and well mannered. But unfortunately, based on previous reviews, we aren’t the only ones. It infuriates me when someone looks down on you because of the way you look. Do not go if you’re young and look a bit messy, you’ll just get turned down and rushed to leave.

Extremely shady and unprofessional. Similar to what they’ve clearly done to many others, they asked for a tenant offer form completed from me, I called a week later to get a status update (I had other options) and was told the landlord is still deciding and is waiting for more forms to come in. Fair enough. A week later I drove past and it was let.. What a shambles of a business. I say this because after speaking to people, they do this a lot. Sheffield is a small place and word gets around quick, I’m not quite sure how you guys plan to carry on operating like this. Get it together and learn to train your staff so they can relay information in a timely and accurate manner to clients, rather than LIE because they’re deviating from what is right. Happily taking my money and custom elsewhere.

Had an offer accepted for a property by this agent, which we were delighted about. However, when we said we were completing a building survey (standard practise) the agent said they are going to go with another offer? Completely bizarre and very suspicious, moreso considering that the property was re listed after the previous buyer pulled out. The property in question is on dovedale road. In summary - avoid, at best unprofessional and at worst potentially something else. Very pushy and quite frankly rude on the phone too.

Archers Estates vs online agents

We looked at one traditional agent & 2 online estate agents. Archers Estates being the traditional agent, were much the same price as the online agents but their local knowledge of Sheffield was far superior. We engaged Archers and never looked back and never regretted appointing them as our agent. The whole Archers team were attentive, approachable, flexible and generally made us feel we were in good hands from the outset. They sold our house at the price we wanted so what more could you want from an estate agent? We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who wants the job done properly and extremely professionally. Thanks Adam and team, you did us proud.

Contacted regarding a viewing of a property. The lady was barely responding, could not answer questions and was far from professional. Will definitely be taking business elsewhere. Definitely a terrible first impression. Response to the owner: Of course there is no mention of myself. The lady was unwilling to engage in any discussion regarding the property, even when I asked for potential later contact with myself as we were at the time, unable to have a in-person viewing and were asking for possibly more info. I think the fact that my details are not on the system highlights just how well that call went... I do not know what the property we hoped to view was anymore. I know it was a 2 bed property, partially furnished I believe. Around Sheffield.

Sam, Adam, Rik and the rest of the team were exceedingly helpful when selling our house. The photos that Rik took really showed the house off to its best, which meant that we had lots of interest that translated into offers. Sam helped us through every set of the way and really helped us get the sale over the line. A lovely bunch of people who care about their sellers. The fixed rate fee was really competitive too. I would definitely use them again, if I was selling another house.

Absolutely terrible!! Had a viewing for a property, the agent was nothing but rude loud and obnoxious. Please what ever you do DO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENT they will scare away all potential buyers and can't do there job properly.
