Sell you the dream, you live the nightmare

8 months ago we moved into our Harron Homes brand new Windsor (plot 62) on the Kingscroft estate in Killinghall (Name is Holden, before HH say they can’t find us from the details provided!) From day one we have had issue after issue. Moved in to a filthy house, there was a nail sticking up out of the grout in the dining room tiled flooring, which my son caught his foot on. Our snag list has been particularly slow in getting traction and dealing with one very rude customer service rep has been painful. The site is a mess, roads constantly being dug up. We currently can’t access our drive, or our road for that matter. This is because the main pipes were under residents driveways and not the road! We have had lots of reassurances the work will be completed by x date, that date never gets hit, we are now on day 15 and still can’t access our road or house. It’s dangerous taking our daughter to school with no safe pedestrian place installed. Thankfully we don’t have children in pushchairs or are disabled, otherwise we would have been completely stuck. It’s too much, the company do not value residents at all, they do things quick and dirty to get their hands on your money. After 8 months, I want out! I hate it here, the whole experience has absolutely pushed my mental health to its limits! But Harron wont give two hoots about any of that! Please do not buy from these people!

Shipley Lakeside - we have now moved in and are really pleased with the build quality. There are a few very minor snags but these are being sorted by the on-site team. Would like to thank Charlotte for her care & attention and updates from signing to moving in. All the on site contractors are very helpful

Lovely friendly ladies in the sales office. All very helpful service with a smile. Thank you very much to Michelle who we met first, helping with choices of house, keeping in touch and informing us all about the houses available, showing us round, giving lots of useful information about the site, and getting things sorted during the initial purchase process before she moved to another office. Thank you to Sylvia who gave us lots of further useful information when we went round our chosen house post reservation. Thank you to Julie for being there on the pre move visit and first day helping us to sort things out. And thank you very much to Meryl for efficiently sorting all the important admin prior to moving in and ensuring snagging got done. We are very pleased with the house so far. Few snagging issues were sorted either before moving in or a few days after. Very minor snagging left after less than a week. Beautiful house on a beautiful site, Thoresby Vale.

Customer Care That Wont Be ForgottenFrom the first moment I met Charlotte

From the first moment I met Charlotte, she made an instant impression on me and my wife. She was eager to fill us with information of what she had to offer us ,very polite very cheerful and very informative Charlotte had the time and patience to make us feel comfortable to ask many and any questions we wanted. Charlotte told us what she could offer us and when asked for boundaries and if we could have extra fencing ,made it clear and explained why we couldn't, I felt Charlotte was honest with us , which we appreciated. On our 2nd visit nothing was too much trouble and was just as welcoming again, showing us again around the new builds and I felt it was very helpful to re-view the properties, also giving us the opportunity to think of anymore queries we had. We ourselves did have a little problem, Charlotte did her best to rectify the situation and told us it was beyond her control, but after several phone calls and a little bit of pushing ,and time, she got the call and answer we was hoping for Charlotte was so excited for us . We would like to thank Charlotte for going beyond and pushing the right buttons for us to get what we wanted,Our time with Charlotte was not what I've ever experienced before whilst viewing new builds in the past or present time and can't thank her enough for this informative experience ,she has promised to keep us updated and keep nudging us along ,as for customers care Charlotte has been first class.Thank you so much

Friendly helpful staff

Sally was really friendly and full of on energy, creating a really happy and exciting feeling in the show home. Which I haven’t experienced in many others before. She was very knowledgable, excellent at explaining the different housing options for me and my partner in Pocklington. She was very patient and thoughtful allowing us to chat through our position. Unfortunately myself and my partner have decided to stay near Howden, however if we had decided to move to Pocklington we would definitely go back to see Sally.

The Waterfront Ilkeston

We went to look at the show homes yesterday at The Waterfront in Ilkeston/Heanor. Wow what a location! It’s just beautiful and so peaceful. Sarah and Charlotte were great at showing us the details, site plans, types of houses, kitchens, all the extras. We were very impressed with the quality and standard of the houses. So many different options in styles of houses. Loved the fact that they’re keeping some nature areas but also so useful that there will be such great amenities within the development. I’ve not been so impressed at a location/standard of housing and such great friendly sales professionals in a long time.

Help and Support from the Retford Team

Last week we walked into the Retford Sales Suite and were greated by two very friendly ladies Karen and Penny. They answered all our questions and gave us advice. On the day it didn't look possible that we would be able to buy a Harron House. The next day Penny called us with a part exchange solution. She listened to us and treated us like a friend. She went above and beyond to get a deal that would work for both of us. I've lived in my current home for 17 years so was very nervous at the thought of moving but we talked through everything and she put my mind at rest. I can't wait to move now. We went back in today to sign the paperwork and it was nothing but smiles and laughter. We were shown all the plans of the house, so much detail we wouldnt of even thought of. This has all happened because of the Retford team who listen and help. Thank You Penny, Karen and Paul for all the support.

Builders urniating on fence

I wouldnt even rate Harron Homes.Homes have been built near our house. The builders have broken the fence, while laying down new grass and one builder actually urinated on the fence, when reported to the site manager. What kind of site staff do you employ? Do you vet them?Now we have a broken fence. We have emailed and no response has been received. Action is required from Harron Homes to fix the fence.Please contact me for my details.Thank you

Stop lying

This company’s dismal customer service is systemic. Ten months since moving in we have multiple snags outstanding, a mud pit outside our house, various H and S issues, and have been consistently lied to by more than one person. We have spent over £3.5k on re-painting the house as the paint job according to Sales is ‘only temporary’. They are a disgrace. Do not buy if you want to be in the same position. What a great team of people...

We are in the process of buying our new home at The Brambles in Retford. From the moment we walked through the door to look at the show home we’ve received exemplary customer service from everyone we’ve met and nothing has been too much trouble. Penny has been amazing and she has made the house buying experience so special and personal to us, each time we’ve been the welcome and hospitality we’ve had from her and Karen has been more like being one of the family rather than simply being just another customer. When we met Paul (the site foreman) he took the time to explain all the technical details with us and answered any questions we had in great detail. His personality and approachable manner made us feel really at ease. We are really excited about seeing our house coming together and we are looking forward to continuing this journey with such a great team of people at The Brambles.

Harron Homes at Shipley Lakeside

The team at Harron Homes Shipley Lakeside have been amazing from the very first time we met them to still being great now we are in our home. We were hesitant to buy a new build again after being disappointed with the quality of our first home by a different builder, but we have been blown away with the standard of finish and care that has gone into our Harron home. We really love it. Niki was great arranging our part exchange making the buying process much easier and Olivia worked wonders to make sure we got our keys on the date promised. Charlotte, Amanda and Sarah have always made us feel welcome and probably a big reason why we purchased our home - we didn't feel pushed into it and they have always been really friendly and helpful. Richard, Ki and Dale have been lovely and very helpful for any questions too. Honestly couldn't recommend Harron enough - super impressed.

We recently purchased a new build house on Brierley Heath using the Harron Homes “Part Exchange” service.This was perfect for me and my preganant wife as we wanted our move to be stress free as our moving date falls very close to my wife’s due date. Harron homes sent our three independent valuations agents who honestly and fairly valued our property. The next day we received an offer for our home and reserved our property the next day.We cannot thank Julia Portington enough for her care, attention to detail and genuine interest in making this process as seamless and stress free as she has. We’ve been kept in the loop perfectly with all the time scales clearly outlined well in advance so we were able to prepare ourselves well to make the process seamless.We can’t wait to move into our new home and want to thank Julia and the Harron Homes team for their efforts.This process is a far cry away from what we experienced with Keepmoat Homes and clearly shows the difference between a top class company and one that just cares about numbers.

Shipley Lakeside are absolutely wonderful! We have recently completed with Shipley Lakeside and since the very beginning it has been an effortless process. Charlotte and Amanda are so knowledgeable and really actively listen to all your requirements. They are so friendly and no question is too big or too small. Buying a house with Harron Homes has been an amazing experience and our forever home is so beautiful. Ki, Richard and Dale are always on hand to help in anyway possible. All of them are amazing and really take time to listen to any concerns you have. You could not ask for a better site team! Again, no issue is too big or too small they will always be on hand to help in any way possible. If anyone is looking for a new home, I 100% recommend Shipley Lakeside. Just completed on our Far Grange…

Just completed on our Far Grange Meadows home, and the experience has been wild! Due to the ever changing economic and our impending mortgage expiry it was looking like we would be without a mortgage. Thanks to Jon for battling for us, and to the Harron Homes team they pulled it out of the bag and managed to complete our home in double quick time and in time for our mortgage deadline. Jon has been so helpful, and his customer service skills are second to none. I would be in a complete tizz about something and he was able to solve it and calm me down. Kaz @ Wyndthorpe Chase - WOW!

I cannot thank Kaz (Karen Cole) enough for everything she has done for myself and my partner at the Wyndthorpe Chase development. She has been open and honest through the whole process, especially since we have been her guinea pigs and it being her first sale at this site! She’s gone over and above our expectations. After having numerous appointments with other new build agency’s, the second we walked through the door at Harron Homes and being greeted by Kaz, the whole experience has been amazing and has made being first time buyers less stressful and more exciting! There’s no pressure with anything, even down to viewing the show homes. You can view the show homes privately and in your own time which we loved, as there can be pressure when viewing a home with sales members. The development itself is to a high standard and you can tell there is a lot of thought that has gone into making it that makes it feel like a home. As our home is currently in the process of being built, Kaz also takes progress pictures to document the whole journey which is really special for us! We cannot wait to move in come summer!!

We visited Shipley Lakeside on Saturday Greeted warmly by Charlotte and Amanda. It was a booked appointment to view the site and plot 49 an Edlingham. Staff are highly professional, yet put you at ease. Product knowledge was reassuringly high. Informative and helpful. They gave us plenty of time too. Pleasure to have the experience. House build quality was great. Standard high. Lovely looking property. Downside was it stated existing houses and not proposed. Only 4 built on this phase with one completed second ready in weeks. If they had planned the road route better instead of as is for site building traffic. They could use the road onto site round the lake. For building works, service vehicles. Plant hire, deliveries etc. As the site will increase in size, by around another 100 homes on this phase all vehicles will pass in and out past the newly inhabited homes. Doesn’t make sense. So sadly it was a no from us.

We purchased our new home through Harron Homes, the sales/service team have been great with us throughout the entire process, very friendly and organised, keeping us updated on the progress were needed, buying a new home can be so stressful but the staff have been there with us every step of the way, this has made it much more of an enjoyable experience! And they were great with our kids too, Thanks so much to Charlotte & Amanda! Also to mention that the customer service didn’t stop when we moved into the property, the on-site team have really looked after us too, checking in with us from time to time to make sure everything was okay and also had them coming over to collect our move in boxes and they took them away for us, even though they are all still working nearby on the site they have put us signs up to make sure workers are aware our property is occupied and to be respectful which they really are, roads are always sweeped and cleaned everyday after diggers have been up and down the road, a lot of work and time goes into keeping it nice, thanks so much to Dale, Ki and the rest of the on site staff, brilliant!

Great Support The Hawthornes - Carlton
