Ok but not communicative enough

Fine but not very communicative. Didn't really hear from them at all throughout the almost year long process of buying this house unless we called them. After a few months of nothing we had called and asked to be updated every couple of weeks, at least once a month, on the vendors progress as we were waiting for them to find something. We were promised this would happen and it would be flagged up to do so, after this didn't happen a few months later we asked again and the lady said she would keep it on her desk so she would remember, not sure it was the best system as we were updated a total of zero times. When I did call and speak to them they were very friendly people but not very knowledgeable of the situation and got a couple of different stories each time that contradicted what the vendors told us. Now we've moved in we've found that along with all the extensive work to do many items are broken that we didn't know about - the hobs, cooker hood, taps, sink, plumbing issues and etc we just wish we were told in advance so we had the money set aside for these things especially since we overpaid for the overvalued property because we liked the site and there was nothing else for sale for the whole time that suited but the broken stuff is probably more the previous owners keeping it from us than Robinson's, I'd hope. Needless to say we would have negotiated a cost for these things considering the other issues.Expected better service all round but got there in the end and staff are friendly enough.

Over a decade of excellent service

I used Robinsons for over a decade to manage my student let in Durham City, only moving on following the sale of the property. They were excellent throughout my time as a landlord. They know their market inside out, achieved good value for repairs and maintenance and did exactly what they were supposed to - i.e. took the pressure away from being a landlord. On more than one occasion, we had to deal with difficult tenants. Robinsons always responded with speed, professionalism and equanimity, frequently going above and beyond to ensure a smooth tenancy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody and I thank them for the terrific service that they provided me over such a long period!

Robinsons of Middlesbourgh enquired about a rental property my wife was the first to ring told that tennant couldnt show anybody around {why advertise then} Told would ring back with a viewing day etc nothing rang few times asking what was happening told they would ring to arrange viewing nothing checked website said LET. Rang told would find out what happened nothing. Manager said would find out what happened never rang back brilliant.

If I could put 0 stars I would. An absolute joke. Not helpful, took forever to to do the simple tasks, questioning if they are doing everything legally as renting laws have changed yet I don't think this company are up-to-date with this. We had no choice in going through this estate agency as the house was up to let with them but we will not try renting or buying through these EVER again.

We sold and purchased through Robinsons (Stockton branch) and couldn't have asked for more from them.Before selecting an estate agency to sell with, we did extensive, in depth research into every agency and their performance. Robinsons scored very highly and after speaking with Mark, we were sure that we could trust them to do the job for us.We had an offer within 22 days and put in an offer on a property Robinsons were selling. The transaction from the estate agent…

The transaction from the estate agent point of view was fairly smooth and trouble free. However, we had booked a second viewing once our offer was accepted. The lady showing us around was late and had to dash off for her next appointment so in the end we only had around 10 minutes to measure up. She suggested we book a double viewing for the next appointment so we could get an hour. We did this, but again when she arrived we had 15/20 minutes before we were hurried out of the door so she could make her next appointment in time, and we were told we had only been booked in for a single slot. Other than that, however, the Robinsons were great through the actual transaction and acted as middleman between us and our vendor brilliantly to appease concerns on both sides.

We've used a few estate agents in…

We've used a few estate agents in Durham to manage our rented house over the years, but Robinsons definitely stand out. Day to day running of the property is pretty seamless, they report issues and get them rectified quickly after asking what we'd like to do. Sure, they still make the occasional mistake from time to time but they are willing to put it right rather than digging their heels in or going quiet. If you're looking for a managing agent in Durham I'd recommend trying Robinsons first.

Mixed Experience

I used Robinsons Spennymoor to move into my first house, move out of this house and to select a rented property. I have no problems with them when we moved into our first house.However, when we decided to move things went a little bit downhill. The lady who came to take the pictures was lovely, courteous and did a good job. We heard when people tried to book viewings, they tried numerous times to contact the office with no answer or no response. This seemed to happen a few times. I told them numerous times when viewings would be best for me and my husband but they always seemed to come back and say "can you do a viewing at 2pm tomorrow" at 4pm the day before. As if I can just drop everything at work to take the time off. Hardly heard from them as the sales process was going through as well.With regards to the rented accommodation, again, it seemed I was doing all the legwork. Mis-communication the day before we were moving in led to a little bit of a mishap but it got sorted. If we were to move again, I don't think I'd use Robinsons would be my first choice of estate agent.

Rude member of staff who clearly did…

Rude member of staff who clearly did not want to communicate with me . Lack of communication between the different staff I had to deal with . I initially chose Robinson’s to sell my home as my then partner worked for the company when this relationship ended I can only say that I was then spoken to disrespectfully and in an unfriendly manner . I would not have any further dealings with Robinson’s as in my opinion they have allowed personal feelings to detrimentally impact on their professionalism with my house sale
