I chose Simpson and Weekley because they have a member of staff dedicated to sales progression. I was informed every step of the way and felt I could call at any time. Jon the Office Manager helped me complete some of the legal paperwork and that was a relief as it needed to be exactly right. I preferred to do that in person rather than over the phone. I was present at some of the viewings and could see how professional and enthusiastic they were about my house. I was delighted to achieve the full asking price.

I have always said that it is not the name above the door of an estate agency but the people inside that make things work but in my sale both the name and the team were excellent from start to finish. Pricing the property correctly, knowing their market and then marketing it in the best way meant a sale was achieved in a prompt timescale. Sales Progressor Alexi became my best friend for a while whilst she brought the sale to a happy conclusion for all parties. From the start, they were responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Nothing was a problem, even when I asked them to show my sister around before exchange rather than see it myself. I was moving from Cornwall to Rushden and my sister lives in Northampton so she was closer and could do whatever was necessary for me. Towards the end of the process, there were some problems with the chain below my sale and Alexi chased it for me regularly and kept in touch. They made a difficult process much more pleasant for me.

I went through Simpson & Weekley to purchase a residential property over a decade ago. When I first put an offer in I went to see them, one of the first questions I was asked if do I have a property to sell, which is a odd thing to ask as I wanted to buy. I did have a property which was a BTL investment. I had problems with the tenants at the time and I didn’t know what my options were as this was my first property. So when asked I just said yes because I thought that was the only option to me. But I could of used the equity in that property and re-let it to cover the mortgage on both properties. They were only interested in selling it to get the £1750 commission. Because they are just salesman’s. Their short term gain has cost me thousands of pounds in lost rental income over the last decade as rental prices have in increased by %100 in that time. This all happened before all the changes to the mortgage system, with the MMR in 2014 and the more rigorous checks, affordability checks etc following the 2008 credit crunch. So what I am saying is do your own research when it comes to financial situations and double check everything you are told. Trust your own instincts. Maybe get a second opinion and don’t rush your decisions. Someone else is now profiting from the fruits of my labour as I done all the work to get the property up to standard.

After initially having my property up for sale with another estate agent in Rushden where communication and viewings were non-existent, I am so glad I called Simpson & Weekley to list and sell the property instead. I had significantly lost my trust with the previous agent and sale of the house but immediately the team at Simpson put me at ease.
