I’m not normally someone to rant and express my dissatisfaction but I was really disappointed with Haart’s (Romford)service today and hence the review I had a viewing booked on a property today (Saturday) at 1pm which was booked and confirmed over the phone on Monday. I never received a confirmation or e-mail & tried calling this morning a couple of times just for confirmation but there was no answer. Nevertheless without thinking anything was wrong I still proceeded to the booking which took us nearly an hour to get there. When no one showed up I called Haarts & got through to a member of staff. She was really rude at first & really wasn’t interested & didn’t seem like she wanted to help. I explained to her that I have a booking at 1pm but she said she can’t find me on the system and reading from her screen notes left by her colleague on Monday which apparently read that I offered a reduced amount on the house and they rejected it & cancelled my appointment without informing me.I tried explaining to her this was misunderstood but she didn’t seem interested or want to understand as she “believes” What her collegue wrote was correct. What actually happens was -They asked me what my situation was at the moment which obviously is normal procedure to find out my affordability and if I was selling a property to buy this one etc and I told them I have a mortgage and deposit already approved of £650K. They said the property they are showing has to be offered in excess of £675K to which I replied that’s absolutely fine let me view the property first and if I like it I can afford to put an offer of that amount. This I’m not sure how can be misunderstood but Haarts came up with their own explanation and decided to cancel my appointment. They wrote on the screen that I offered a reduced amount and after contacting the seller and seller rejected my offer of £650K they just cancelled my appointment without informing me.I’m really not sure how they thought I will offer any amount to a property that I have not viewed and only seen in pictures, specially with a price tag of £650K and even if this was the case of misunderstanding they had time to contact me and inform me to which I would have cleared that they got it wrong. If a property is put up on sale with an asking price in excess of £675K then why would I cancel work (I’m self employed ) and want to drive down an hour just to see the property and reject it as I can’t afford it, it just doesn’t make any sense. So after the telephone call & after telling the member of staff that I’ll leave a review as I was really disappointed and this was unacceptable she then told me if I can wait until 2pm then she can arrange for her colleague to go early as they have another viewing booked for 2:15pm I did wait and view the property and the property was really lovely (just as seen in the pictures )but It’s such a shame, as I would have prepared to put in a decent offer in but from experiences in the past with dealing with bad customer service from various estate agents, I will not want to be dealing with this branch or anyone who thinks they can provide bad customer service and get away with it. Haarts in Romford do have a good rating and I’m sure it’s good for most but for me unfortunately the service was really poor and a waste of my time. The agent that showed the property around was actually a nice person so 5 * to him.

We were very pleased with the service we received from Haart Romford when selling a probate property.
