Complete disregard for Tenants needs

Complete disregard for Tenants needs. I moved in 7 December to a beautiful flat with a working fireplace. However I smelled gas when the fireplace was on. I called on 8 December to have this fixed. It has now been over for months and the only thing resolved is the technician agreed it is leaking and has put a big red DANGER sticker on the fireplace. Every time I called Chestertons which is about once a week now for 18 weeks… I get the same story oh, let me check on this I’ll get back to you. Nobody ever gets back to me and I have to call again the next week and I get the same exact story. We went with Chestertons because of the reputation and I would never do this again.

Do not use Chestertons

Do not use Chestertons. After Chestertons failed to sell my flat, I went dual agency with another agent who managed to sell it. Chestertons then enlisted debt collectors to demand their fee and threatened legal action after wrongfully assuming they had introduced the buyer to the property, and they did this without any prior communication. Not trustworthy at all.

Utterly regret using Chestertons

Utterly regret using Chestertons. As a landlady I have experienced one nightmare after another with them. They pressurised me from the outset, pushed me to accept a particular tenant (one of many interested candidates) and due to the apparently misleading information they shared (with regards to the contents of the property), the tenant was unhappy from the outset and has now stopped paying rent. I have had to relentlessly pursue Chestertons to get any form of substantive update on the matter. Still unresolved. All of this despite them taking £2000+ from the first months rental payment as a “rent collection fee”.

We’re first-time renters and found a flat via Chestertons Richmond. Kerri-Ann did our viewing and was able to answer all our questions and made us feel at ease putting an offer in. Jess handled the follow up (application, contract, check in etc) and was very knowledgeable, very quick to reply to every query we had and was patient with us whilst doing so. This made the process of being first time renters far less daunting. Would happily recommend them both.

Dirty property

Usually I am not writing complaints but this time I would like give a warning for people who are interested in this agency. This agency broke an agreement. Before moving in we agreed that property will be cleaned to a professional standard including carpets. But instead of clean property we got awful carpet, washing machine full of hair, dirty cupboards with lots of mice droppings. We have tried to speak with them but they just ignore all these things. We have been moving many times and much more cheaper properties but this is the worst experience ever. So unprofessional and not following high standards agency. Really disappointed.!

I do not recommend this agency!

1. Our tenancy agreement had a clause that the flat should have had a professional cleaning at the day we checked in, but obviously they did not. We had to sleep one night at the hotel, which money they did not Reduce from the rent. 2. I complained about few things that needed to be renewed in the house a few months no one took actions. 3. I have made complains 5 months about mouses🐁 in the house, they did not took action and in the end never replied to emails.

3 bedroom apartment Review

I was desperately in search of a short let 3 bed apartment with local amenities. I was contacted via email by an agent of Chestertons who was kind enough to help me search for the perfect apartment. It didn't take too long before I had a list of places to look at. I was offered a virtual tour and an in person tour which I had someone do on my behalf as I was abroad at the time. The agent and I were able to also correspond via WhatsApp as well as email which made for a smoother transaction. She was very thorough in her search and paid great attention to my needs. It's my first time going through an agency, as I usually use holiday serviced apartment websites. But so far, my experience with Chestertons has been a good one and I have recommended them to other family members. Madi even went as far as to copy herself in emails between myself and the company in charge of the property to make sure that the handover process was pretty streamline and she was always ready to offer assistance with clarifying any documents I found confusing.

Great experience working with Chesterton's

I recently relocated to the UK with my family and had a very challenging time finding an apartment that would totally meet our needs. As luck would have it, I came across an apartment listed by Chesterton's. While that particular space wasn't available anymore, the agent Madi immediately found two similar properties to show us, one of which we immediately fell in love with. She guided us through the entire negotiation and rental process, additionally the Chesterton's secure online portal made the process very seamless and transparent. They also provided a thoughtful move in package with some essentials and this added touch was really thoughtful. The team have been so very helpful and proactive and I would definitely be referring others to them.

This is my second tenancy through Chestertons in the last few years and in both instances the level of service I’ve received, especially from Olivia but indeed the whole team, has been second to none. Prompt responses to all my queries (even outside of usual hours), great flexibility with viewing times and then an incredible follow up service helping me to secure a wonderful flat in St Katharine Docks.I’m sure the experience of my new landlady and landlord has been just as seamless from their side. Avoid Chesterton’s…

Avoid Chesterton’s like you would Covid. From the beginning of our tenancy, to the last day, we have endured nothing but frustration, aggravation and excuses. Day one: my wife arrives to take possession of our flatt and found the unit FILTHY. Chesterton’s assured us the flatt had been professionally cleaned and inspected. My wife was fortunate to find a professional cleaning company to perform a same day cleaning. Of course, no compensation was offered and all she heard was excuse after excuse. Last day: after two years of tenancy, it took over TWO MONTHS for our deposit to be returned. Again, (with no fault of our own) incompetent, ill-trained, complacent, and unprofessional behavior caused this unacceptable delay. Interaction, in between our two year tenancy with Chesterton’s, was equally unacceptable. If you find a flatt managed by Chesterton’s, run fast and run far.

Not only attentive and pro-active but also showing me how well he followed through in detail with his email responses, which can often be a bit of a weak link. But not so in his case, as he would always respond before the close of day with an informative and well constructed message. It struck me during my time dealing with him in fact, that he must of experienced professional training or maybe that he just had an inherent aptitude to be able to communicate so thoroughly and be so conscientious. Myself and my partner had Heather as our tenant/landlord negotiator for Chestertons. I have nothing but positive things to say about Heather - as first time renters she was responsive and efficient in answering any questions we had about the process. My Experience with Chestertons…

I have had dealings with Chestertons twice; once when purchasing a flat and another when renting it out. Both my experiences have been good . The team is professional and most of the time, very efficient in dealing with all sorts of queries. My experience with the rental department has been way better than that of my purchase. All in all, I recommend this agency for those who seek quality service and support relating to issues concerning the sale, purchase or rental of a property.
