I have had a really good experience with this company. They are knowledgeable, efficient and helpful and always respond quickly when contacted. My latest dealings were with tenancy consultant Niema Latif, and she embodied all the qualities that make this company so admired and trusted. I had some difficult accessing documents, and, when I informed her, she immediately suggested solutions.

Another day, Another threat from the agency. I would strongly recommend not working with this agency at all. It is a sincere request from a tenant, it is just using the power dynamics brutally because they have the security deposit. I have the threats on email now so I do not if I can upload them for better reference for other people. The service is just pathetic.

Chestertons bought the estate agents outfit I originally rented from. They are the most unfriendly and unhelpful rental agents I’ve ever met. First they claim not to have a copy of my keys, which means they misplaced or lost them, not too smart. Then they claim I didn’t pay my rent when I did and have a record/receipt for my bank. Then they wanted to increase my rent by 15% because “your rent hasn’t gone up in 5 years” it’s not my fault 🤦♀️ they send me endless harassing emails when I’m trying to work.

I appointed Chestertons on a joint agency term for the marketing of my property. Despite all the promises and statements claiming to be the best local agent 'by a country mile', they simply failed to deliver across the board.Compared with the other agent, Chestertons provided poor communication and I had to chase them for any updates. They failed to adhere to proper access procedure when conducting viewings. Upon termination of their contract their sales director acted in an extremely unprofessional manner, leaving yet another sour taste to the whole experience. In contrast, the other agent conducted themselves professionally and produced three offers of which one progressed to conveyancing.So based on my experience dealing with them, I cannot find a single reason why I would recommend them in any way.

I've amended my original 5 stars which I left at the stage at which the rental had been verbally agreed. My old review (which I still stand by up to a point) said: "Lily at Chestertons helped us sort out our dream rental. She got all the paperwork sorted in a couple of days and was on hand to answer all our questions."However, as soon as we got to contract stage, customer service took a nosedive. The contract was amended 4 times and each time we had to sign a new version of about 20 pages, but when I asked for a countersigned contract a few days before our move-in date I was told this wasn't standard practice.Then, when I arranged for a friend to collect our keys from the Chestertons office as we were overseas at the time, we were told that no one was sure where the keys were. This was 4 days after our tenancy had officially started. We were told to try the caretaker at a neighbouring apartment but no one was entirely sure. It took my calling the lettings manager of Chestertons to ask him to confirm where the keys were, a fair amount of time spent calling around, and finally requesting that my friend go and collect the keys from the neighbour's caretaker, before we could get hold of the keys to our new rental.So would I still recommend Chestertons? Only up until the point at which the rental is agreed, don't expect much after that.
