Extremely poor service

Extremely poor service. When questioned, they were poor to respond generally and when they did they were arrogant and dismissive. I engaged their services to manage my flat rental and they changed 5 agents who were supposed to be my point oif contact within the first 6 months. When I decided to change agents I asked for reassurance that they would facilitate a smooth transition. They flatly refused to do so instead stating that they would fulfil their contractual obligations. It has been the most frustrating experience that I have ever had as a Landlord. The whole idea of getting them to manage was to reduce my workload and stress yet they caused the exact opposite. If you are a small landlord, they are not interested as they are a big corporate, despite their empty reassurances otherwise. Avoid Chestertons at all costs for managing your property as it seems that ther is high staff turnover so continuity will be poor.

Terrible experience with Chestertons Fulham…

Terrible experience with on-going property relationship with Chestertons Fulham, please avoid carrying business with this branch.Before signing a rental contract, the staff was always helpful, smiley and responsive. After signing the contract, I have been switched to a huge void, a non-responsive department that does not answer the phone (I tried calling 5 times and leaving my phone number), usually responds emails in 3 business days, and does not solve anything for tenants. In my first day of tenancy, there were 3 contractors renovating the fllor in the kitchen and I was not able to move in on my first day. It has been 4 weeks since I found out that the washing machine is completely out of service (they did not check that before securing the contract, of course), and basically there is no resolution so far. Again, please avoid this company/branch.

Unskilled staff, below poor service

I used Chestertons to help find and rent my current property and their service was below poor. They failed to prepare the property prior to our move in date, despite pushing the date back to ready the flat and when we arrived to a filthy flat they were completely offline and unresponsive. In addition they offered compensation that they were not entitled to offer then informed us we were wrong to be compensated. Horrific agents and I would never use them again nor recommend them to anyone else. If you are thinking of using Chestertons, please seriously reconsider.

Finding and securing a rented property

Trying to select and secure a rented property from an overseas location and without the ability to view, other than online, is fraught with difficulties and potential pitfalls. However, thanks to help from the team at Chestertons St Johns Wood at every step in the process, we managed to find a property that met all of our criteria and then went through the quite demanding process of identity and financial checks, eased by the help of Megan and Luana in particular. It was a friendly, efficient and first rate service from all at Chestertons.

Disgraceful!

It has been nine months since we moved into the flat, and we are still waiting for some maintenance, not to mention a refund for a storage that we had to pay back in September as the flat, precisely, wasn't ready. I have to write a negative review for…

I have to write a negative review for Chestertons because their service is so poor, unprofessional and bad(I want to use other words and I think "unprofessional and bad" is probably an understatement. I have gone back and forth with Chesterton on this for so many times and yet they randomly added another fee of £180 and deducted that money from my rental income. This is like 3rd time. Previous two times I have spent months to get those money back and this time again. As expected, no response from Chestertons. God knows how long this will take to get my money back. In addition, Chestertons actually have no property manager, when I ask, everyone is saying someone else need to look into this matter for me.

Outrageously bad

Do you think paying £300 plus to change a fire alarm is reasonable? Do you believe you should be paying for the cleaning of a flat you don't own? Is two weeks a reasonable response time to answer an email? If you've answered YES to any of those questions, then Chesterton's is for you! This agency is so useless, so incompetent, and rips you off SO shamelessly, I'm shocked they have such a good rating. We used them as managers of our flat for nearly a year and deeply, deeply regret our decision. AVOID these incompetents at all costs!

Subpar property management service

We're currently renting a property which is managed by Chestertons. Unfortunately, we have had a terrible experience with them in regard to some issues that needed resolving in the bathroom.One contractor sent by Chestertons took five visits and approximately 16 hours to install a bath shower and redo some tiling in the bathroom, while another needed 8 visits to fix the toilet and redo some other tiling. These jobs are taking a suspiciously long time to resolve - to the point it feels like they are doing it on purpose so they can extract as much money out of the poor, unsuspecting landlords as possible, while at the same time causing massive inconvenience for tenants. It almost feels like Chestertons are willfully allowing this to happen. This is not an acceptable property management service I'm afraid. Chestertons haven't even bothered to come to our apartment to assess their work.All landlords beware.

Worst experience in my life

Worst experience in my life. Unreliable and fraudulent. I took a short term let. After signing the contract and paying advance, they ask me for more money in addition, without a receipt. I send total payment in two payments because my bank did not allow me to make such a large transfer. I send both transfer copies in an official document with CRO. One payment arrives, the other one does not by the weekend. They do not give me the keys. My lawyer is getting me a full refund. Never go to scoundrels like them. Be careful.
