We made an offer through Bernard Marcus in July, advertised to us as chain free and even told us it had no chain on the memorandum of sale. After some weeks of barely any contact we called and they asked us why we thought we weren't in a chain even though they told us that we weren't. Spent hundreds on keeping our stuff in storage for a prolonged amount of time to wait for the chain to complete. They were terrible at responding to emails and returning phone calls. Never apologetic in regards to misleading us. When we did eventually speak on the phone one employee didn't know what property we were talking about even though she was the one who sent the memorandum of sale. She also didn't respond to many emails, presumably to avoid us having proof of their incompetence. I will say that Jake was lovely when showing us the house. Sadly I won't ever use this estate agents in the future and wouldn't recommend them to anyone

We had a terrible experience with another local estate agent and while looking at a property contacted Barnard Marcus and spoke to Gareth. He was really kind and helpful, he advised us that although we were under contract to another estate agent he could come and give us a valuation. He came and spent some time with us, was really helpful and gave us good advice. We have now decided not to move at this present time but when we do we will certainly contact Gareth and ask him to help us. I would thoroughly recommend him for his helpfulness, his knowledge and for never pushing us to do anything we weren’t happy with.

I’m in the process of buying my first home through Barnard Marcus and so far the experience has been fantastic. The team have worked hard and very effectively to make the progress that we have. Things got off to a bad start when the property I wanted had sold off market, when I was ready to buy, however the team were quick to turn things around and we managed to secure another property that same day. Peter has been very open and honest in his communication regarding the development and Oscar has been fantastic in providing clear and concise updates, as well as promptly following up on forms I needed to sign. Have never moved house before so started dealing with an estate agents with some trepidation. Gareth at Barnard Marcus has made the whole experience easy and straightforward and on being told I was after a quick sale was round at my house within 2 hours and achieved a sale within 2 weeks ! He and the team are all friendly and efficient responding to contact by phone or email rapidly and sticking 100% to agreed timescales, visits etc. All in all a pain free, transparent experience and reasonable fees - thoroughly recommended.
