Teamwork pays

In spite of the very protracted process prolonged by third parties I have been supported throughout by Douglas Allen. In particular by Heather and Trish in arranging a large number of viewings by organizing and conducting open house days and Janine in energetically coordinating to completion all the elements in the chain to finally arrive at "my happy". I don't think this could have been achieved by a single operator as painlessly to me as has been the case engaging Douglas Allen with a supporting team of experienced and efficient professionals. I have just completed on my sale and would like to say a big thank you to the Woodford Green sales office. Firstly Steve advised very well on the market and has a passion for his job like I have never seen. We got a buyer quickly for over the asking price and every step of the way it felt like Steve knew what was happening and updated me constantly as he knew I was nervous about the move. I'm currently looking for a property to buy in the Woodford Green area, and have been liasing with Monique in the Woodford Office, who has been so helpful throughout my search. Great service provided from start to …

Great service provided from start to finish. Communication was key to us and they put us at ease every step of the way with regularly updates on the performance of the property. At times we became frustrated and stressed as anyone selling a house would be. However, we were put at ease by Chelsey our Sales progressor who did everything in her power to make our experience as stress free as possible. I would defiantly recommend them to others and would use again in the future.

Douglas Allen - Woodford Green Branch

Seduced by the low up-front costs I originally tried selling my flat through a well-known online agent. Unfortunately, the sale wasn’t as straightforward as I’d hoped for and after a couple of months I ended up abandoning them in favour of a High Street agent. With plenty vying for your business picking the right one is difficult. I went for Douglas Allen because I really liked the idea of their “Best Offers” approach where the buyer pays the agency fees. In the end though I went for the standard commission based sale. What is immediately clear is that they really do understand the local market and their initial valuation was exactly the price I got. The sales team know what they’re doing and I was impressed with Stephen Ford and Andy Dumas who kept things moving forward and kept me in the loop at all times. Will Nash, the in-house independent mortgage advisor, really knows his stuff and offered some very valuable input at the early stages but the star of the show was Keith Langford the sales progressor who did most of the leg work chasing all the parties and saw the sale through to successful completion with the utmost patience, tenacity and tact. The online portal is pretty good too and is updated frequently so you don’t have to keep calling to find out how the latest viewing went. If I had to nit-pick I’d say they could have thrown in a bit of professional photography as part of the commission and I also had to rewrite part of the sales blurb which was a bit sloppy. In the grand scheme though these are minor concerns and not worth knocking off a star for. Given that you can pay three times as much in commission with other well-known agencies I’d say you are in very safe hands with Douglas Allen with a very fair commission to match.

Had a property on the market with a internet agent and I felt very uneasy having to handle everything myself, I soon realised that this was not for me as I might of well just put it in the internet myself so I decided to go to a professional l. After meeting James I decided this was the route I wanted to take and thank god I did, as at times my sale had issues and between James and Natasha they managed to keep the stress to a minimum for me whilst saving me a lot of money in the process. Rude, sexist, unprofessional!!!

We sold our flat with Doulas Allen in January 2017, we were lured in by their flashy brochure detailing their extensive client base and the fact that we were promised a quick sale as they had buyers lined up for our kind of property. Sadly this is where the service ended. Open days took place where only 2 or 3 clients attended and the feedback that we were promised on all appointments never materialised. When I asked for further information one estate agent 10 years my junior asked if I'd like my husband there as there was a lot of information to take in, whilst on another occasion I was asked if I needed percentages explaining to me in simple terms (no thank you!). After having to continually chase for feedback on viewings they eventually presented a buyer who was interested yet again I had to chase them to follow up with him, finally we had an offer on the table but yet again it seemed like the promises of working for us ended. Throughout the sale negotiations our mortgage progressor seemed to be more of a hinderance than a help simply forwarding mails from one person to the other, he again was rude & unhelpful and needed constant chasing. At one point the mortgage progressor advised that he hadn't mentioned to our buyer to get a survey as it might hold up the process, we felt this to be underhand and unprofessional as we were of course happy that they buyer carry out a survey. Eventually a survey was carried out one week prior to exchange holding up the process further. The final straw came when we handed over the fees for this so called service and not a single person from Douglas Allen even bothered to notify us that the sale of our property had gone through or thank us for our business. I have tried to contact Douglas Allen on numerous occasions to ask for their comment on this matter to no avail again confirming just how unprofessional they really are. They have never asked me to leave a review which again hints at the fact that they are contacting those where all went well to leave reviews to skew their ratings

Tremendous thank you to the guys at chigwell douglas for selling my home they did a splendid job. Tricia, robin and jordan were all great the whole way through and I'm so glad i went with them. I was a bit nervous at first with all the viewings and what not but seeing trish and jordan run those open houses made me feel like i was in safe. They clearly done a good job. And even once it was sold robin and tanya kept me up to date with what was happening even outside of office hours which was great for me because I'm a bit of a workaholic. Thanks guys :)

Almost two years ago I was selling my house with Douglas Allen Chingford. They done a great job and secured me several offers over the price. Sadly some personal problems arose and I could not see it through. We contacted Michelle Hawthorne at the Chadwell Heath branch as we became responsible for selling a local property although we live in Kent. Michelle visited us and advised about the presentation and the pricing to enable us to get a wide buyer response. Regular contact with Michelle gave us confidence to leave the sale in the hands of the branch. Within days of the house being offered for sale there were more than 30 personal viewings and hundreds of contacts on the website. Buyers have been assessed and the most suitable person has been identified and is proceeding with the purchase. Double Standards

Just browsing through the reviews of Douglas Allen, Find it very strange indeed that a review by R GOODYEAR has been reported by Douglas Allen and removed because it contains the name of a staff member. Fair enough if they are the rules, however I suspect some foul play and skulduggery going on here, as the other reviews also name staff members. So if its a review that Douglas Allen finds pleasing, it is allowed to remain, and if it is not to their liking, they have it removed. Seems a bit unfair unless anyone can respond with a valid reason as to why this is, I think I will treat Douglas Allen with a great deal of suspicion. Douglas Allen, I guess is a name so if the rules are followed, then this review wont last long either.

The right choice

We chose Douglas Allen in Woodford Green to sell our property. This was largely based on the confidence given to us by Steve on the initial valuation. The whole team came to see our property before they arranged viewings which we thought was important and soon afterwards we had many serious buyers show interest. We agreed to proceed with the buyer who paid £30,000 over the asking price which we were delighted by as this meant we covered our costs for relocating abroad. We were nervous off the back of Brexit that things wouldn't go to plan but Douglas Allen delivered A fantastic service from start to end including lots of contact from Keith once we had sold.
