Very poor service
Linda - thanks for taking the time to leave a review, although you have not been a client of ours at any time. I do know of course, that your daughter has purchased through us, but she would not be our client as a result either. I understand you refer to problems with access to the property your daughter bought, which completed this week, but our service was not the issue and this was actually due to the vendor not passing on keys until they had moved out all their belongings. You will be aware that the issue was initially caused by the delay and consequent breach of contract in your daughter’s purchase of the property, as funds for completion did not arrive with the vendor’s solicitor until mid-afternoon - well after the completion deadline - due to the chain beneath involving your daughter’s sale taking time for funds to transfer through. It is unfortunate that this then led to a delay between actual completion and the keys being passed to your daughter of around an hour and a half, but where there is a chain involved, it is normal for all parties to understand and accept a chain has inherent potential for delays. It seems that there was a misunderstanding between solicitors as to who held keys for the property and their availability following completion, but this was also not our fault or that of our service. As we awaited keys from the vendor, it was certainly not helpful that you visited our office, threatened to “get a locksmith” to force entry and that the vendor “needs to be very careful” when returning for the remainder of his belongings, as you “might not let him in”. As we deal with the sale of many properties each year, we know very well this can be a stressful process, both for buyers and sellers but usually, parties to the transaction appreciate the situation and work with it without this kind of approach. To ensure that there was no confusion that the issue related to ourselves, we contacted both your daughter’s solicitor and the vendor’s solicitor, informing them of how things panned out on the day and your subsequent post online. We received a response from your daughter’s solicitor confirming that the issue was exacerbated as they hadn’t understood that the vendor held all the keys to the property but again, this is not a fault or failing with our service of course. The reply from your daughter’s solicitor stated: “Following our telephone conversation this morning, I called and spoke to our client to let her know your side. I also let her know that you had actually let the seller’s solicitor know, when he called you to release the keys, that you were not holding them at the time. I do believe that if we had been made aware that you were not holding the keys at the point completion took place, we could have let our clients know and they could have worked around it, instead we told them that keys had been released and they were able to collect them from you. When I spoke to our client this morning, she was happy to be in the property and said she wished she hadn’t got upset yesterday but the tensions were high for obvious reasons. I hope this helps.” It is clear that your daughter’s solicitor confirms we are not at fault and, coupled with your daughter’s partner shaking my hand and apologising for how fraught things had been when they left our office, makes me wonder why you would subsequently post the negative review you have. I asked your daughter to ask you to call me so I could explain the above, (we don’t have your number as you are not related to the transaction in any way of course), but haven’t heard from you. As your post has not been removed or corrected, particularly given the solicitor’s email, we therefore unfortunately had to respond in this manner to correct the record. Nonetheless and in any event, we would reiterate our best wishes as we said on the day, to your daughter and her partner in their new home. We sincerely hope they enjoy their time and future there together.

Thanks for taking the time to give us a review, but we have nobody with your name in either our database or email systems and therefore don’t believe we have dealt with you. We seem to be experiencing this a lot recently!!!

Seemingly another unknown reviewer, as we have no one by this name in our emails or CRM system.
