TrustpilotI put down a deposit of £500 on a plot…
I put down a deposit of £500 on a plot and two weeks later pulled out. The build was not even a first level and estimated a 4-5 month completion date.I received £125 back from my deposit even though being told be the senior sales director that it's very unlikely they will retain money. We are not in this to make money from customers she told me. We do the deposit to stop people moving from plot to plot.Really well you've got £375.00 of my cash and I won't drop this until I get a full refund.___________________________________________Update. Having posted a review the area sales director of Jones home has been in touch to say she was disappointed in having seen this review. Well if you don't fully refund and ignore calls what do you expect! Anyhow they've agreed they made a mistake and will refund me a further £125.00 which is what we are entitled to under the contract but refuse to refund the balance £250.00 despite being told by her in person that "they generally don't retain deposits". Well word of warning, don't believe rubbish you are told by the area sales manager. Lesson learned but not necessarily the end of the line!________________________________________________Well despite numerous emails and promises we have still not received our full deposit back. The areas sale manager, Dinah has now passed this onto someone else. Jones Homes are full of promises and lies. What we were told was rubbish and then further lies saying we are chasing the refund. I won't give up and will be emailing them again but will also be taking this to the ombudsman.

TrustpilotThoughts
Buy a Jones Homes house if you want to wait a year+ for snags to be completed. We have been in for a year and still have snags that have not been completed! Also, damage caused by contractors employed by Jones Homes when building houses behind us has not been rectified. Instead, they have let themselves onto our property without informing us to 'fix the issue', leaving a mess and not even fixing it.Communication is so poor from anyone at Jones Homes.Copious emails, phone calls and promises that everything will get sorted. So disappointed with the aftercare from buying a house here. Once they have your money the just don't care!

TrustpilotTerrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Numerous issue's unresolved. My garden frequently ponds. ticket first raised 2 years ago. Still unresolved. Site manager is dishonest, one minute says they'll fix it, next minute says they won't. We've tried landscaping the garden after being told they wouldn't install drains, and by the way, they installed drains for my neighbors who had the exact same problem of water ponding for weeks. In the process of landscaping we dug out a patch of the lawn no more than 100mm down and dug up all sorts of crap. Large boulders, stones, rubbish. Obvious to me no top soil was ever used! Infact they used better topsoil in the culvert.

TrustpilotGarden used as a tip
My house was built on farmland so you would expect decent garden soil. Unfortunately Jones dumped tones of rubble from the building project in the garden and covered it with 1/2 inch of top soil before laying turf, so my grass simply won't grow. Whilst digging a bed I removed half bricks, rubble, plastic bags full of screws, huge pieces of metal and plastic. I even got a cut on my ankle from a massive nail which popped up when I was digging. I've seen birds carrying bits of plastic which I'm sure they've gotten from my soil and I worry that my cat could get injured. There's more non-biodegradable rubble than soil! I am at the stage now where most of the grass is completely dead despite constant treatments, watering and re-seeding over the last 3 years.

TrustpilotCaveat Emptor (let the buyer beware)
We moved in to our new house in March and were promised that all the snagging issues and other issues we identified would be sorted prior to us moving in but this was not done. Since moving in we have found several major problems and we have spent most of our time trying to get these rectified. Jones homes say they want to work with you to sort the problems out but time after time they let you down. We have been given dates when trades people are supposed to turn up so we re-arrange our plans to accommodate then they do not turn up and when we try to contact or email customer services on site we get no response. We feel very badly let down by Jones Homes yorkshire team and they need to take on board what they need to do as people pay a lot of money for their house and should get what they were promised. I can see from other reviews this seems a common occurrence so someone at a high level needs to sort what is going on at ground level quickly.

TrustpilotWe've lost count of how many snags…
We've lost count of how many snags we've had.our main issue is that the communal path has been put in the wrong place!-it is directly in front of our lounge window so everyone walking down the path can see straight into our lounge.jones can't even answer us as to why it's in a different place to what it is on the plan.im in the process of taking this to a solicitor because we've got zero privacy and people on bikes speed down the path and nearly bang into our window and cars on OUR OWN PRIVATE drive.jones don't see an issue with this!. our other main issue is our horrendous garden which is covered in stone's, uneven and soggy.one of the construction managers came out and blamed our 'lack of maintenance' and told us that we should get green thumb in to solve it!.our bay window roof also makes a really loud noise in the rain because the flat plastic roof is lacking adequate insulation to deaden the noise (Jones says that there is enough insulation already in it but we have spoken to other neighbours who've had exactly the same problem but Jones eventually did actually solve theirs by adding extra insulation!!.I could write a book on all the problems that we've had.the thing that annoys me the most is how they try to fob us off and make out that we are stupid.they also love to make out that we are 'the only' people that have experienced these issues!(when infact it's half of our neighbours too!).

TrustpilotA lawn full of bricks ..
Just reading the reviews about gardens in new jones homes in Congleton being all clay. I’ve recently bought a Jones homes property not too far from Congleton and my house is 30 years old. I know the previous owner laid turf on turf , as there were problems & the bottom of the garden is very badly drained. I recently tried digging flower beds & again it is just clay, half bricks & paving stones. Re-edged the lawn & dug out several half bricks. So this is not a new issue & seems an ingrained practice to save money by leaving basically a building site as a garden. Agreed it is very disappointing.

TrustpilotUnethical building practices & failure…
Unethical building practices & failure to communicate at Jones Homes USA.I recently closed on a new construction home with Jones Homes USA and from lessons learned, here is my summation regarding Jones Homes USA fraud & dishonesty at Eagle Creek:Tim B (Sales agent of Jones Homes) showed me a home site and the home model that was ideal to accommodate my ailing mother since our existing vacation home was too small to accommodate her.The purchase was made just a few weeks prior to the COVID-19 pandemic in February 2020. Once I signed the contract and returned to my primary residence up North in March, COVID-19 turned deadly from onset of pandemic outbreak. Since I had legitimate concerns about the logistics of supplies and labor force, I called Tim for assurance. It turned out Tim had already left the company not long after I signed the contract.I returned to Eagle Creek in May 2020 and noticed considerable damage to the masonry (cracked load lintels and damaged concrete blocks). The construction foreman told me the repair was approved by Florida orange County Building Safety who oversees Jones Homes to ensure compliant with building codes. It turned out Jones Homes was intentionally deceptive, since the Chief Inspector of Orange County Building Safety informed to me Jones Homes never reported the structural failure and accident. As the result of Jones Homes dishonesty, Orange County Building Safety had a special condition included in the Certificate of Occupancy that the engineer’s letter on the load lintel/masonry repair to be approved prior to final inspection. I specifically requested this from Orange County because I’ve learned from previous homeowners with the misfortune of trusting Jones Homes of making goods on repairs and then waited a year for them to come back after closing on their new homes (Jones Homes is "Home Free" once they have Certificate of Occupancy from Orange County Building Safety). Good luck trying to get them back after closing.Since I’m scheduled to close within a week in late August, and several major construction defects were still without remediation (i.e. crooked windows; warped walls; improper grading/drainage, and over 71 items from the documented preliminary inspection report by an independent licensed inspector). I had little choice but to reach out to whom I presumed to be the head of Jones Homes Eagle Creek, Deb M. I never heard back from this manager, but I did receive a call from Scott Q, Construction VP. Reluctantly, I agreed to waive the special conditions by Orange County Building Safety, if Jones Homes would repair all construction defects prior to closing date.Jones Homes rectified some of my major concerns which were warped walls; defective cabinets, improper water heater installation; and among other items listed in the inspection report. While I observed that they did not complete all the defective items, I was certain they would be more responsive. I was wrong!Immediately after closing, I noticed Jones Homes did not complete all the repairs or installation per contract/deficiencies report. I reached out to Scott Q (after going nowhere with Alexis R) and raised the issue of incomplete installation (some accessories were just left inside the bathroom cabinets), defective security system and missing accessories that was supposedly included in Jones Homes “Master Collection”, and discovered building code violations (which I plan to raise with Orange County). It has been a month and there is still no response from Jones Homes. No homeowner’s manual, no instruction or process for addressing warranties. Just deafening silence from Jones Homes.I plan to post similar reviews on all Jones Homes & Emerson Group websites and plan to write to PE Jones and his two sons, ME Jones and TE Jones so they can start taking accountability.

TrustpilotPregnant and homeless; but the baby isn’t Jones homes despite being screwed by them!
To sum up, Jones homes have reserved a new buyer on the Hallgate property which we are also reserved on because of a 1 week delay in our chain. We think that this is because we asked them to fix major issues (wonky ceilings) identified in a snagging survey which revealed almost 90 snags and also because we argued about being asked to pay for the freehold despite being told the house was freehold at the viewing and knowing that new builds are no longer meant to be sold as leasehold and also because we learnt that other houses on the same development sold recently (not just HTB houses!) have been given the freehold at no extra cost.We are left heartbroken at how Jones homes have treated us. It seems crazy that a builder can delay completion if a house is not built on time and they take months to respond to you but a week delay in a pandemic on our chain which we cannot control and they can sell the house from beneath us! We have paid for searches, a valuation, survey, flooring and legal costs and they simply do not care and are unresponsive to any emails we send them.

TrustpilotJones homes... pretty shocking service
Jones Homes will tell you you have two years for snagging then at the two year mark tell you you have lived in the house for two years and not brought it up. Everyone leads busy lives and complaining is not really a thing I do. Plus getting past the none customer focussed customer service AKA the woman who just blames you for any issue, is a problem. Make sure if they say they will do something they do it you have to chase and chase. Overflow pond looks like a swamp of doom. It’s just an overgrown mess we are going to have to sort because once again Jones homes just wash their hands of the mess they left. My advice is don’t leave anything you have to be on it whilst they are on site and I’d pay for a professional snagger and check you have got everything you pay for including the bulbs( none existent)wildflowers... weeds, and that the grounds are planted and watered as they should be. Pretty shocking please come and look at the pond at the end of kings close staining... you will be shocked they are willing to leave things like this but it gives a view into the standards they keep.

TrustpilotWentworth View - Excellent
I have seen a lot of mixed reviews on the internet about Jones Homes which i can only put down to individual sites and the personnel managing them. Having recently completed on one of their new developments (Wentworth View) and following our home demonstration, the fit and finish has execeed our expectations.I think people forget that all houses have issues, not just new builds, but it is compounded because when you view a new build, there is no furniture etc. everything is laid bare for you to scrutinize and pick faults with.the big difference in our experience has been the team at Wentworth View, when we did have problems, we met with the site manager and assistant site manager and the resolutions agreed and put in place where stuck too.Do not let the bad reviews on here put you off, for the house you get compared to other developers is fantastic. i have no regrets with buying with Jones Homes and would have no reservations in recomending them either.

I have purchased a home from Jones homes in Bolsover. I frankly have no energy left to list the huge amount of issues ourselves and neighbour have and continue to have. What I will say is if it is not perfect when you move in, don’t think it will get rectified in a decent time, if at all. Their after sales is shocking, COVID is their excuse of not getting work completed. DO NOT BUY A JONES HOMES PROPERTY!

Trustpilot4 Years and Still Having Problems with as Jones Home
Nearly 4 years on from purchasing a Jones Homes in Wilmslow, from a couple that had only had the property for one year, I am still having problems. I had to inform them that they had not installed expansion vessels in the correct place and we found out that pipework was wrong, which could cause contamination. No sorry, but after 6 weeks I finally got them to sort this, however, the bath does not work again, the light switches in 4 rooms not working, the sink in the main kitchen is coming away. No aftercare - remove the word CARE from Jones Homes, they just want your money. Stay clear and do not be fooled by their show homes. The floor boards make so much noise, we can hear the showers in the rooms below. Really really badly and cheaply built and then they want to charge £1,200 for leasehold. Just disgusting.I have four neighbours all complaining. One had to have their whole staircase re-built and actually move their family out. The list just continues. I am going to take my case to the media as I cannot believe that they are allowed to get away with this and do nothing take the buyer's money and leave them with problems.DO NOT BUY A JONES HOMES. LOOK AT ALL THESE BAD REVIEWS!!!!

We purchased a property form Jones Homes in Eaton Congleton. There are so many snagging issues with this property and it was a daily battle to get matters looked at, repeating faults with Window faulty, fans that don't switch off, failed taps, outside areas flooding, poor workmanship. Where does it end..... They dont reply to emails, you have to spend your life chasing the site manager, customer services are useless. So i suggest you don't buy from this company. Many neighbours have similar issues, how they advertise 5 star service i have no idea. more like "lets get the money"

TrustpilotVery bad experience- Be aware!
I would not recommend Jones Homes to anyone. I have had nothing but problems from day one when I moved into the new property in July 2020. The customer service is awful. They ignore your emails and the jobs take so long to be rectified. I now have some new issues which they won’t resolve. I have’t been happy with it since I moved in. What you see in the showroom is NOT what you get. Be aware!

TrustpilotJones Homes - A nightmare situation
.Unfortunately my experience with this company was beyond a nightmare. The quality was atrocious. I basically lived out of boxes and suitcases for 4 years. The wet room was not functioning for 9 months. All window sealant inside and out had to be re done. Most of kitchen replaced. Most of doors and woodwork replaced or fixed. Front door not attached properly and hung crooked. Ceilings taken down. Floors re screeded. That's only some of it! The amount of time it took them to 'renovate' a new house. In my experience they did not deserve one star. I have a pile of photos and evidence to back this up. I was unable under the circumstances to resume my international job. I had threats and abuse. Horrendous situation. Beware!!

Avoid them.Drains needed throughout garden. After a replacement of grass last year they have finally agreed to putting drainage in a small area of the garden and patch up the turf. They class this as goodwill!!. Jones Grandson visited the garden and doesn’t care basically. 3 emails ignored.Inspections they don’t turn up when they should, they come in expected over a week later.Numerous gardens being constantly replaced.Even the estate across the road no of the garden problems. Emails ignored.Theu don’t like you going to NHBC for advice either. 3 months without a shower too as they mess you around.A year on and still a stain on the kitchen ceiling after to “patch ups”.You’ve been warned.

Recently purchased a house at Hade Edge The Heather View development. The Heather view sales team, site manager and customer after care team are excellent. They are all very professional and seem to genuinely care. They definatly go that extra mile throughout the whole process.Yes there has been snagging work and some faults with the house but its all in hand. I am confidant that the Jones home team will have it all sorted very soon. Most of the work required has already been completed to a high standard. They are 100% a disgrace, I am sick to death of trying to manage their problems which they have never fixed.... 5 site managers have come and gone, the mastic guy comes one day, then he is the plumbers the next day and then he is the kitchen fitter.... they have jack of all trades and master of nothing building their houses.... water coming through the ceiling, toilets leaking , taps leaking, door handles falling off, uneven floors, sinks not sealed, marked basins, shower doors not sealing properly, lumps under vinyl, slope in room floor, windows not closing, radiators falling off, Dirty carpet, no spring clean, boiler broken three times.... someone conveniently left my emersion heater on for months without us noticing so we wasted ££££ not realign that’s the only way we had hot water!!!! upvc doors won’t lock well... Christ that’s just off the top of my head in a rant!! The after sales service didn’t exist talk and talks but action ZERO... 18months since I moved in with 127 snag points and I’m not talking petty snags... anyone thinking of buying a Jones homes please come to my house or send me you email and I’ll forward you a link to Dropbox which you can see for yourselves. The house look nice and you get loads of keys and a teddy bear.... all smiles selling you the dream but when everyone buggers of to work for other companies you are left with a nightmare!!!Next steps for me is every time I see a perspective buyer pull up they will be told to pop in for a coffee, I will make sure they see the truth.
