Thank you for your review. Unfortunately when a property is returned in an unacceptable condition due to damage, missing items, overgrown gardens and cleaning. The deposit is there to put the property back to an acceptable standard, however in this particular case the deposit does not actually cover the damages caused during your tenancy. I would add we don’t actually earn any money from your deposit and is not of any financial benefit to us whatsoever, however we do work for our client who now has to rectify the damaged caused during your tenancy. This matter looks to be going to dispute and I will of course update this response after the matter has been independently adjudicated by the DPS. Update: DECISION Breakdown of awards: Claims Damage to property contents Damage to property contents Missing items Cleaning, garden maintenance and other Total £800.00 The disputed amount is to be distributed as follows: Letting agent £800.00 Tenant £0.00
