We were recommended by Fulfords estate agents - drake circus (also recommend this estate agent as they are brilliant) to use Oliver Tugwell at Countrywide Mortgage services as a mortgage adviser, and from the very first interaction he was prompt, organised, and clear in everything he did. He helped secure the mortgage for me and my partner when initially going for the property first time round, making the whole process feel straightforward and far less stressful than we expected. More recently, we found ourselves in a difficult position when the buyer of my partner’s property unexpectedly pulled out, putting our onward purchase at risk. Lara, Branch Manager at Fulfords contacted Oliver when he was out of office and arranged an appointment for the first slot of the day to discuss our options with him. We made the decision that I would proceed with the purchase myself. Oliver contacted us first thing and on that call he took the time to talk me through all the available options in a calm and easy to understand way. Once we agreed on the best route forward, Oliver acted incredibly quickly. Following a call at 9:30am within minutes I had a mortgage in principle and my mortgage application had been submitted. From submitting to it getting approved was one hour which was outstanding. So from looking at options to having the mortgage accepted was 3 hours. Incredible. His ability to move so efficiently and calmly while still being thorough and supportive really stood out. Throughout the process, Oliver made everything feel simple and manageable. He always followed up conversations with clear, detailed emails outlining the options, which was extremely helpful when making decisions and meant I didn’t have to worry about keeping track of everything myself. We’re both very grateful for all his help and support. Oliver combines professionalism with a genuinely approachable manner, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly mortgage adviser. Without him we know our dream home would have fallen through. If you need a mortgage advisor this man is the one you need.

Had a really positive experience with Lara, who showed me around a property recently. I'll start by saying my initial contact with them was fantastic. However, upon being put to a second agent in the office, he completely ignored my requests and did as he chose. When I pulled off the market they had lost my keys. I was assured this would be resolved and locks replaced, over 3 months later I've received no contact and had to sort this myself. Only not received one star because initial agent I worked with was excellent. For an update in 2026- they never replaced my locks after assuring me they would. Lots of promises, under delivered

As a first time buyer with special personal circumstances, I was really nervous about the entire mortgage process. My Mortgage Advisor at Fulfords, Oliver, was incredibly supportive throughout and explained everything in detail and in simple terms. The mortgage terms Oliver was able to get me are exactly what I was hoping for. Not only has Oliver and Countrywide Mortgage Services made the mortgage application process easy and stress-free, but they also set me up with a solicitor and home survey company, so that I didn't need to find them on my own (I wouldn't have known where to start!). I could not recommend Fulfords mortgage services (and Oliver in particular) highly enough!

As first time buyers we used Oliver Tugwell to advise us on our Mortgage and getting the process started of buying a property. He was able to find us a mortgage that worked for our personal circumstances, better than any bank or other advisor. He made the process of finding a mortgage easy, even though I work three different jobs (Which saved us the hassle of having to explain to each individual lender my employment circumstances). Oliver was exemplary supporting throughout the entire process, answering any questions or concerns we had with any part of the purchasing process. I can't express how great my experience was with using Fulfords sales and letting agents plymouth. I sold my flat through Fulford's Estate agents in Plymouth city centre. My main point of contact was Lara Hewit-Rees, the branch manager. It took nearly 2 years to from beginning to end due to various sales falling through. I just want to give credit to Lara, she was incredible throughout. She never gave up on the sale of my flat. She was so determined to complete on my sale and she conducted herself extremely professionally, going above and beyond what was expected of her. Lara kept my sale from faltering many times and was always communicating with me on every development with expert advice on how to continue to keep my sale going through to exchange and completion. I have been renting for the past 15 years and have always had a really positive experience with every landlord…until Fullfords. I also have the pleasure of working with landlords and letting agencies in my professional life too, most are incredible and very knowledgeable and fair. I used Fulfords in St Budeaux as they had my chosen new property advertised. Having looked online, arranged a viewing with Alisha, who couldn't have been more helpful. Arrogance isn't enough of a word for…

Arrogance isn't enough of a word for these degenerates that are at at Exmouth Branch. I'm being evicted under the no fault. And I had to inform the people there in the office of a few serious matters, I say people, because no one seems to work there. I've phoned numerous times to discuss some serious matters and only one person answered saying she couldn't help and transfer me. I waited for ever. Not one IDIOT would pick up the phone. For days I phoned and left messages, even emailed them, which heightened my ANXIETY even more. No one return contact. NADA. And these people get PAID by people who use them to sell/rent their property. What a FARCE. To this day not one UNCUTH PERSON has even had the curtesy to call back. I'm severely disabled and it has left me with no alternative but to go to see these people face to face. Be warned to others I would consider never employ FULFORDS. An absolute 💯 % DISGRACE. POOR SERVICE. UNRELIABLE. I can see they are all USELESS PEOPLE AT EVERY BREANCH IN DEVON.

Seamless if you have the right person

A seamless transition to move when Aaron, the senior lettings agent, was available. Unfortunately he was on a long overdue holiday midway through the process. I was left frazzled by lack of communication and over reliance on online portals and time wasting referencing (a week). I offered to pay 6 months up front which I have, but still needed to go through references and run around (on the day of my father's funeral) to get copies of my savings and investments only to then be told I'd need to pay the 6 months anyway. It's been a distressing time, not helped by lack of communication and red tape. When Aaron returned he called, I paid, we arranged a key exchange and it was done. I like simplicity and simple business practice where you speak to people and at least have an email attaching documents rather than online portals or documents sent without any human interaction. Perhaps I'm too old school, but business should be personable. Aaron is a friendly, warm and welcoming man who gets things done easily which is exactly what you need when you're moving after the death of relative, not to have to chase people constantly.

Would give no stars if I could! My mum passed away, and I was selling her house. Had three valuations, Fulfords were 20,000 higher than the other 2. Naturally wanting the best price we went with them. House was on the market with Fulfords for 4 weeks. Plenty of views but no offers. Never any feedback on viewings, I had to chase them everytime, they had to come to my work to collect the key for a viewing, as it had been taken home by one of the estate agents! Eventually had enough and took the house off with them and used Yopa instead. House was sold in 5 days! Rang Fulfords to arrange collection of my Mums key, told it had been collected, not by me or anyone from my family, promised a call back from manager heard nothing. Would not recommend Fulfords to anyone.

My house was recently put up for sale by fulfords estate agency in Plymouth. Lara Hewitt-Rees was put in the position of selling my property. Upon first meeting with Miss Hewitt-Rees she was incredibly well mannered and polite. I advised her that I do get nervous about matters of this nature. But throughout our sit down talks she had guided me and assisted me through all the paperwork and has been on hand to assist any questions I had no matter what time of day. I would highly commend her for her thoroughness and dedication to the job in hand.
