Fox and sons hastings the good guys

Hassle free sale of our home , sold in 4 weeks , property was on with pcm for 8 months I approached fox and sons they said they would do there best to sell in 4 weeks and they did , very happy with the service , I was congratulated immediately once I accepted an offer , very close to asking price I must thank Callum , Alex and Charles they have been very very helpful and always replied quickly to my calls and e mails , I used fox and Sons 22 years ago to buy the house and I had great service then and I just wish I had asked them before asking pcm as the house would of been sold months ago , but today I am very happy it’s finally sold with the professional company they are Ken Press

No stars would be more accurate

Edit: The service got even worse once we'd left. The Company left me with a number of examples where I had to contact Utility companies, because they lied about our Moving out date. I then found myself having to explain to several people that we had moved out in October 2019, not January 2020. This took several hours over many months. My credit rating was apparently affected, because I didn't know I was being left with bills that I shouldn't have. I would welcome any member of the company to contact me to discuss just how bad they were. I very rarely have the need to write a poor review of anyone, but I've never come across such an air of apathy from a company. At the start, they were very pleasant, and made a load of promises to get work done before we moved in. The house was filthy, and their representative (Mr Evans) promised my wife that a load of cleaning would be done. The garden would be tidied up, holes in the walls would be filled. The excess furniture would be removed. On arrival on the day we moved, nothing was done. My wife was extremely upset (Rancid milk ground into all the carpets downstairs, thick film of grease and filth in the kitchen, dirty toilets and bathroom. Cooker filthy and not working, Garden was a mess, Furniture that should have been removed was still there, etc etc. This was not vaguely dirty, but FILTHY) My wife contacted the Company Representative, who did nothing. When I eventually complained further up the chain, it was turned around so that it was our fault for not formally requesting that stuff be done. The flippancy of the lady that dealt with the complaint was beyond contempt. When I make a promise that is something will be done, when I'm representing my Company, I make sure it is done. This was definitely not the case with Fox And Sons. Having moved out, we now find that we are likely to lose a large portion of our Security Deposit because they are now blaming us for damage that was caused long before we had moved in. We are rather relieved to have now moved out, and even more relieved that we will never have to deal with this company again. There are many estate Agents, and Letting agents that work extremely hard for their clients. This isn't one of them. I expect my Secure Deposit to be taken from us, as it would appear that their primary objective is to take as much as they can from the market. Exactly as expected, we have been blamed for long term neglect and damage to the property that were there long before we moved in. We have photographs from the week we moved in, and will process an appeal, but I fully expect that it will be ignored. If truth be told, all we want now is to move forward and not have to deal with these people ever again. As the title says, NO STARS would be a more accurate appraisal.

Gosport BranchLettings. Poor communication unless they want extra money out of you. Last 4 months rent paid late by them ( this month nothing at all paid in!). Likely to lose property and credit score shot to pieces. Do not use this company to manage your property letting! Also they will try to charge you for renewal of tenancy which is illegal. There is every chance I will have to take them to court. Landlords please hear my warning!!

Bad is not enough to define and…

Bad is not enough to define and describe the service provided by Fox and Sons in Western Road. They use all the resources they have in hand to make money at the expense of tenants.When we left the apartment, they sent a company to carry out the check out and they claimed money for "damages" that already existed when we moved in (but they did not mention in the check in report). As a way of example, they wanted to charge us £185 for an allegedly damaged skirting in the living room. Well, this was only the result of an existing structural crack in the wall that made its way to the skirting. This coupled with other reasons that were rejected by a dispute ending up in me and my wife wasting time on the dispute and getting my deposit back 3 months later. On top of that, when we moved in and because we were starting new jobs, we had to pay 6 month in advance plus deposit. We made it clear that we only wanted to be on a 6-month contract and after go on a rolling contract. Well guess what? we paid to secure the apartment and when we got the contract is was a 6-month contract subject to a minimum additional 6-month contract. They do not care about tenants!! Stay away from them if you are renting!!!

As in former reviews stated:All what counts for “Fox and sons” is money.After paying agency fees and deposit they stopped caring for us.With living in a flat which is mouldy and damp for over a year now, it is more than obvious that they’re NOT interested in solving the KNOWN problems.One room can’t even be used anymore.As we’re moving soon it becomes quite clear that the flat will only be re-decorated to sell it overpriced.My husbands health problems increased massively through the mould and damp.When it came out that there is an insurance with a certain company they even expected us to lie, that no other companies were involved.That is fraud!!! Although former tenants had the same problems and even got the Council involved, nothing happened.Fox and sons Maintainance company is useless simultaneously!

I am very disappointed with Fox's and sons. Last week I was given a email confirmation from an agent named Jade to view a house in Cromwell St. Plymouth at 1.15pm. She never turned up so I called the branch to be told Jade was on holiday. Another agent told me someone else would come and show us the property. 15 minutes later Suzie arrived and contacted the viewing. The property wasn't suitable. But I had no follow up call. On Thursday I wanted to view another property in South view Terrace and again Jade confirmed by email my appointment for 5.45pm a little late but I was happy to go along. At 5.15pm before I left my home 25 minutes away I called to confirm the viewing was going ahead. The agent who answered the phone confirmed Jade will meet you at that time. As we arrived we saw a car pulling away, so rang the office to be told " no the agent is there" Sam who answered the phone then tried to locate Jade and he found out someone had told her the appointment had been cancelled. There are clearly administration and communication problems here. Jade eventually came back and apogised but then said practically nothing to us. She was obviously put out by having to return. I for one would not recommend this agency, maybe some additional training is necessary on how to treat your customers with respect.

I dealt with a guy called Sam Martin. Me and my partner went to see Sam for buying our first home together. What seemed to be such an impossible job to secure a family home, we finally achieved it with the help of our mortgage advisor Sam. He played a massive part in helping us to get a mortgage. He was very honest and gave us the best deal on a mortgage that we could gain as first time buyers. I would highly recommend using Sam and the team. Worth every penny !

Susie is a dream. She worked SO hard to get our sale through, despite weeks of unacceptable procrastination and errors by the buyer’s solicitor. She gave us constant updates. Harangued said solicitor. Remained cheerful throughout. And finally we completed a few days ago. I am singing her praises to all and sundry now. Also many thanks to Jade. Who took over whilst Susie was on leave and managed to get the buyers to spring into action resulting in contracts being exchanged that very same day! And finally, thanks to Joe. Who also helped and was consistently cheery. A great team.

I first found Fox+Sons late one day, when I phoned around all the lettings agents in Plymouth. Laura Bradley was the only agent still answering, working late, still open for business and that says it all really. I signed up there and then because I was so impressed. She has a 'can do' attitude to every question, and is well experienced in her job. She has a great team, and they work hard and efficiently to provide a great lettings service.

Pleasant staff but I had a poor experience. They recommend Conveyancing Direct. My file was passed to 4 different solicitors. That led to my purchase falling through and my sale left uncompleted.CD say they're based in Hastings, even the number on the phone is that number. In truth, my solicitors were based in Cardiff.My £1000 deposit was voided when I was gazzumped. F&S refused to get it back. So I did it. At the end, F&S even refused to deliver my spare keys (0.6 miles from their shop). 'We're not a delivery service'. At times they spelt my name wrong and basically failed to neither get the sale nor my prurcase over the line in time. So I stayed put.They distanced themselves from CD and said it wasn't their fault.£2000 out of pocket, no apologies...

We used SCOTT THOMSON as our mortgage advisor. We were first time buyers and so a little apprehensive of the whole buying process. Scott was EXTREMELY HELPFUL, talking us through the whole process and braking everything down so we could understand exactly what would happen; this was particularly useful when discussing mortgage options (he had funky graphs and everything!!!). He went ABOVE AND BEYOND throughout the whole buying process, keeping us fully up to date with emails and calls, many of which were outside his normal working hours. Where things were going wrong (either because of sellers or because of my self employment) Scott fought to ensure they were quickly fixed. We cant thank Scott enough for how easy he has made our first house purchase and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone who is looking for a RELIABLE and PERSONABLE and generally DECENT BLOKE for their mortgage advise. Scott and Susie have been amazing! Nothing is too much trouble for them. With purchasing our first house it was all a bit overwhelming, however after our first meeting with Scott, where everything was explained in detail with diagrams and drawings, it helped us immensely! Susie was also brilliant, when arranging our second visit, she left us to it to explore our new house. We really appreciated this and made us feel so comfortable. Since then she has been in regular contact with us, being that support and key link between seller and buyer, which is so important. I can only judge Fox and Sons Kemp Town based on my own experiences of buying a property through them and then letting it.And they have proved to be excellent in both cases. Ed showed me the property and Mike helped me finance it. No unnecessary tooing and froing and the process was smooth.Renting the property was equally easy. It was rented with a month at the price they suggested it should go for. Jenna and her team have proved helpful with deliveries and suggesting builders too.All in all I'm very pleased so far.
