Avoid!!! Awful is the summary.

Awful is the summary! This company talked the talk and sold me a brilliant dream of service but the reality was totally different. I was misled by the team who convinced me to switch to them from my previous agent. I was told all viewers would be vetted and proceed-able. This was absolute nonsense. The whole system is automated and I had the worst experience, my sales negotiator never communicated with me or let me know what was happening and I had to chase them up for details after viewings constantly. I was told to put a mixed between x-y “guide” price but this actually just lowered the price of what was expected by buyers and again felt misled on this. People viewing the house complained that they couldn’t get hold of anyone. People wanted to ask questions and couldn’t get through. I had several issues with the service and requested to make a complaint and was completely ignored. Even now over a month later since this request I’ve had no response and am now having to go through the property ombudsman. That’s how bad it is. In the end I had to negotiate the sale myself because they couldn’t be relied upon. Avoid them at all costs! Awful, misleading, terrible communication, deceit, poor customer service, poor procedures.

Making contact on video call had a few glitches which were resolved. Nik Barlow was very pleasant and helpful.I have not been happy with my current estate agent.His comments on his perceptions of their efforts coincided with mine. He made them first. However I felt Express Estate Agency appeared almost too good to be true and was not happy with a16 week contract. Trust Pilot comments appear excellent in the main but there are a few which coincide with my reservations that the size of the agency could create problems

BEWARE THE 16 WEEK 'CONTRACT', READ IT FULLY BEFORE SIGNING. Commission is based on original asking price NOT selling price. Sounded good at the start but didn't live up to the promises. Initial request was for them to buy our house, they quickly turned that round to trying to sell it for us. The photography was pathetic and the choice of lead photo (of wheely bins) was diabolical. The description of the house was wildly inaccurate. Correcting these issues took weeks and in fact some details were never put right. "Sell in 30 days" ?? 6 weeks later not a single referral, viewing, anything. The For Sale sign was finally put up 2 weeks after we sacked them. Phone is rarely answered.Sacked them and put the house in the hands of a proper agent. 16 weeks later we are free of this diabolical contract.

Fantastic experience! Lola was my sales manager and she was outstanding! She went above and beyond to assist me and give me guidance and super friendly! I reside in America so unable to be in the UK while my house was on the market and Lola was there for me to make things as easy as possible. After a very stressful 18 months of not being able to sell me house with estate agents on the high street I finally made a decision to let Express Estate Agents sell my property, I was naturally concerned over selling my my house with an online estate agents, however they marketed it on a Thursday and by Friday morning I had requests for a viewing and within just 1 week I had a great offer on the table which I was delighted to accept. I was allocated the lovely Annie Davies-Grace who made my selling journey one of the best I have ever experienced. The support and reassurance she gave was second to none. She always answered all my questions with confidence and returned all calls and nothing was too much effort for her. She even went the extra mile in looking to get me the best conveyancer for my onward purchase. She always left me with a feeling of confidence and the whole process was effortless and smooth. Thank you Annie and don't stop doing the great work that you do.

This is an overall review of express estate agency. Stacey the valuer was friendly and polite, however i did explain that i didn't live at the property and i would prefer viewings grouped together. Stacey informed me this would be fine. This information didn't seem to be passed to the negotiator and i was getting viewing requests spread throughout at random times. I spoke with the negotiator and it was never really resolved but they did get people through the door and eventually sold for 10k under the asking price, which considering the market at the time wasn't horrendous. Moving onto Robert that was suppose to help complete. This part was awful. I never actually spoke to him. I tried calling but could never get through to him, i tried e-mailing and never received a response. I occassionally received portal updates but whenever i logged in it wasn't accurate. Luckily my solicitors - Glover Priest were really good and kept me updated. The fee was also very expensive for how little they did and they did not deliver on the things they promised, i would not use them again and i do not recommend.

Third time lucky I had used a couple of estate agents before with no luck whatsoever just wasting my time making me leave it to them to complete the viewing big mistake! Completed my self answering all the questions correctly so that people had the confidence to move forward. Absolutely shocking customer service from start to finish. Firstly not coming back to me after making an offer, I had to chase Richard to put the offer forward and also he didn’t come back to me several times after making various phone calls. I then requested to deal with a different member of staff due to him repeatedly not coming back to me. After I submitted my THIRD offer I was told that the vendor had not declined the offer this time and that they were thinking about it, as it was very close to the asking price at this point. 48 hours later, this morning, still waiting for a response on the offer I made, I receive a phone call from Annie telling me ‘sorry it’s now sold’. At no point did Annie contact me to say we have had another offer do you want to increase, I was completely in the dark the whole time. A simple phone call would have done the trick. I was simply trying to buy a property but Express Estate Agency have made it the most difficult and awkward experience. No chain, funds available, would have been the easiest sale known to man if the staff knew how to communicate with people properly. Apparently the lack of response after the offer that came in against mine, was due to the property ‘not being her property’, well I am sorry but Annie is a manager and you work for the company so how can it not be ‘your property’ when you have dealt with my enquiry after poor service from Richard!! Annie was also very patronising on the phone and made the comment ‘well if your funds did allow to go higher you might of bought it for £400k’, well my funds DID allow to go much higher thank you very much but it’s called negotiation and communication, two skills of which BOTH staff very clearly lack! In the space of that 48 hours I could have counter offered several times but I wasn’t even given the opportunity due to not even knowing the outcome of my previous offer. Worst estate agency I’ve ever dealt with in my life and I will never deal with them ever again and I suggest nobody else does too.
