Just a quick note to say that whilst I am not actually purchasing a property on the site for reasons beyond my control, I would have to praise the sales manager, Mel Barnes for her help, advice and professionalism throughout the process.She was very helpful at all times, although we were all somewhat frustrated with the lack of information as to what additional options were available and at what cost until late in the day.I would also like to thank the site manager for his explanation as to how the building process was going to work on site.

I am giving feedback 15 months after moving into my newly built house in cadley village swadlincote. Initial faults such as rusty hinges in the windows, cracked windows, guttering screws not tightened, blisters on the carpet were dealt with fairly quickly. A badly fitted door and door frame was replaced twice which took about a year. The biggest problem was the plumbing. From day one there has been a problem with leaking water and it started in the kitchen where the pipes from the sink were not screwed together. A badly sealed toilet in the upstairs laxity led to damage to the ceiling below, a leak in the downstairs lavatory and en-suite to replacing the floorboards. Gaps in the grout fill between tiles or even poorly applied silicone.Customer service does not answer phone calls or respond to messages. Reported faults take months to be repaired and it is often the case that deadlines set by Avant are not met and on any given day no one comes. Employees who resign from Avant Homes do not pass things on to colleagues the same happens with employees who are on annual live. Avant Homes is incompetent, dishonest, unprofessional.I would caution anyone who wants to buy a property in Swadlincote because after speaking to neighbours they all have problems to date that have not been resolved so I am not a one person case and it looks like this is their way of doing business. Shame on Avant Homes, correct yourselves.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY THAT WERE BERKLEY DE VEER PRIOR. YOU WILL BE BUYING INTO TROUBLE AS I DID. TWO YEARS LATER ROAD,FOOTPATHS STILL A HELL OF A MESS. COME VISIT BARNOLDSWICK SITE. SEE FOR YOUR OWN EYES. SALESMEN JUST CONMEN, FULL OF GARBIDGE TO MAKE YOU BUY AND THEN GOOD BYE. CUSTOMER SERVICE FULL OF VERBAL GARBIDGE TOO. PUT BOUNDARY WALL IN WRONG PLACE. I THOUGHT I WAS SIGNING FOR WHAT SALESMAN SHOWED ME .THAT WAS EXTRA LAND BUT HE WAS WRONG,SO NOW LOOSING IT. I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED PLAN BUT WHY SHOULD YOU. TOLD A LOAD OF LIES

Avoid and look elsewhere. Our house spec was changed and only voiced to us casually in conversation 8 weeks prior to our completion date. All requests for compensation for the unfortunate change in the house were declined by management.Communication and customer service is also very poor. Ended up having to pull out of purchase because the new spec of the Avant house was so far from what we had reserved and no longer worth the price of the house. The advertisements and show home are so so far from what you end up with at the end of the process due to their spec changes that happen and are sprung on you later down the line.

Several months late moving in with little to no contact to let me know what was happening. Once i was in all customer service went out the window. 7 months now since i moved in and next to no effort to rectify issues. Still no sign of several extras I have paid for with yet again no contact.Customer services has gone to voicemail the past 30-40 times of calling over the last few months.Would not recommend at all.

Purchased house over two years ago. I’ve had an ongoing dispute about my bushes throughout this period. Avant escalation process is a waste of time as you only get false promises. Shane as every other part of the process was great. The customer service wasn’t bad just at senior level its been awful

Overall we’ve had great experience with our our purchase. The majority of snagging issues when we moved in were sorted.I think the only area to improve on is their mechanism for coordination between customer services and the site and they need to focus in that area. However, as most of our contact and issues were dealt directly with the site itself I found any resolution rectified quickly and effectively and would recommend Avant Homes to others.

We have been in our new house for around two months now and been really pleased overall with Avant.The sales lady was always friendly and open and honest with us. We were delayed a month but still within our original three month window.Our snagging list was pretty minor and we’ve had good communication to get those fixed.Overall we had realistic expectations and didn’t expect perfection, in fact we were nervous about the aftercare but so far we have had no issues.

There are lots of good things about Avant - the home designs are great, the sales experience is good, the build is, in general, of a really high standard. This is an organisation entirely let down by its post-sales customer service, and it is truly the worst I've experienced in any sector.I've bought other new build houses previously, and I understand that snagging is just part of that. And with Avant, the site teams are incredibly helpful and get things done. However, anything that involves the use of a subcontractor where Customer Service need to be involved is just awful. I genuinely feel like I am shouting into a void. I only have a few snags - but one of them is the provision of an extra that I paid for early in 2022, which still has not been provided, months after I moved into the property. I've tried every approach I know, but am still in a position where Customer Service don't give me any information and fail to provide promised updates, so now I'm in a legal dispute that I don't want to be in, but there's no alternative open to me other than just writing off the money I have paid for this extra as lost forever. Normally, I would never write a negative review - if there's feedback, that's what the NHBC survey is for. Only, I never got an NHBC 8-week survey, because Avant didn't provide NHBC with any details for me. They're 'investigating' that, but having raised it with them months ago, there's still no update. No idea what this means for my NHBC warranty. Amazing. I did tell Avant I would write a negative review if they weren't able to provide me with a different route to share my feedback. They didn't seem bothered.So, I guess the summary is - enjoy your new home. It'll be nice, and you'll be happy, if you're prepared to live with all of the defects. However, any encounters you have with Customer Service, or work that needs to be done by a subcontractor, will crush your soul and wreck your mental wellbeing. I'm just not sure if it's worth it.

Avant homes barley gate.Bought our home 2 years ago, estate got finished 6 months ago, we have had several emails as an estate sent to customer care and managing director of area to ask when these roads and paths are being complete. They lie to us telling us different dates, none of these dates get met. The roads are dangerous especially for kids and elderly tripping and this has been addressed to them. They don’t seem to care about the health and safety of residents which is clear by not getting the roads and paths complete. Be very cautious of buying a property and make sure you have them confirming these things will be complete!

Missing verge on the roof top I am really upset about Avant Home because they did not follow up the missing verge on the roof top of my house. Even after spending over 6 months asking for it, I still have to wait. How can they have such a kind of customer services? I have sent a lot of emails to Avant Home and requested for the roofing contractor for repairing the roof top immediately. I told them when there was heavy rainfalls , I found the water drilling in the ceiling of the bedroom. I heard some dropping sound inside the loft. This is not a bit of shrinkage (I have sent the updated ceiling picture to Avant Home). This is obviously due to the lack of the dry verge, which causes the rainwater seep into the ceiling from the roof. It does not make sense that the customer services reply me that the dry verge missing is a minor issue and will not cause any damage. And so far they only reply me: “I apologise for the delays, this is being chased regularly.” It's an unreasonable and unacceptable awaiting period. What can I do?

Would reccommend you AVOID Avant! Customer service is no -existent, they literally don’t care about anyone once they’ve receiced your money, fob you off when you submit an enquiry and don’t get me started on their low levels of workmanship! Apprentices could do a much better job. Seriously if you’re buying a home from Avant, have it independently checked before you complete. We’ve got electricals wired up completley wrong-half of our downstairs sockets are wired to the upstairs and vic versa. Avant don’t care that this could have been an accident waiting to happen. My sister’s experience is even worse. No working dishwasher for 6 months, her boiler was fitted with old, rusted parts and her washing machine was fixed up incorrectly-just to name a few. I dread to think what issues we’ll find when we come to do any home improvements on the property. Stay safe, keep your money and avoid! They are absolute cowboys!

Bought a house in December 2021 and still have outstanding snags, one of which being underfloor heating that doesn’t work and a baby that’s going to be cold (again) this winter! Site Managers have proven to be useless in coordinating their onsite staff - 10 months ago we were notified that our door would be replaced due to it constantly collapsing and the lock being damaged, though this is yet to be fixed. Again, this is just one of the many issues. Whenever contracted staff do arrive it is fixed to a subpar standard thus breaks again; whether that be the lights in the kitchen, lights in the bathroom, bifolding doors and more. On numerous occasions, the technicians have been booked in which has resulted in waiting around the house all day but no one turns up. Alternatively, people turn up without prior warning so I have not been able to arrange for someone to be waiting at the house.Regional Manager has also been difficult to have any communications with and has routinely ignored any contact. We have been waiting 4 weeks for a response and are now having to chase her up for any further appointments. Stay away from Avant.

If I could give no stars I would. I would love to be a positive customer but sadly 7 1/2 months on from moving in to Collingsgate my stairs are still not replaced (Avant knew there was a problem but covered it up) despite having to fight tooth and nail and finally getting the NHBC involved…. No mean feet! Many, many other faults one in particular a wall out of building regs tolerance was redone but on the cheap and is now out of tolerance the other way. If you are considering buying an Avant home perhaps you should think twice. No one at the senior level in the company gives a damn about their customers and their employees seem to be constantly battling to get faults sorted. We bought a new home to allow us a calm, hassle free life having just celebrated 6 years in remission from cancer I can safely say the stress Avant have put us through has nearly broken me. It was easier doing chemotherapy, mastectomy, radiotherapy and medication everyday than fighting Avant. In total about 120 snags, no sorry faults. Shame on you Avant, let the buyer beware !!!

If I could give Avant homes 0 stars I would. I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and have never experienced such poor service especially from the customer service team looking after the Glasgow plots, Debbie and Dawn. No one communicates with each other, we have been in our house for nearly a year and have had no response to any emails/calls in regards to our HUGE snagging list. Avant homes seem to move as many people in and completely forget about them. I would never buy another home from Avant and advise anyone thinking about it… DON’T BUY FROM AVANT!!

28/07/24 Avant at summervile stockton have just sold 11 new homes , possibly more in excess of £3m to a housing association no wounder people can't buy a house and get on the housing ladder , when avant need to sell the last homes to make a profit they'll sell to any housing association

Plot 216 greenhall estate, Blantyre.Tomorrow 3rd Oct 2022, perhaps the useless company Avant paid to install the worst windows in Scotland will come to remove x2 panes of glass in the bi fold doors as they are markedley scratched we will see, also Jenn (customer services) says the also inadequate kitchen fitting company will call me to arrange to see the absolutly terrible job they have left my kitchen in. I will report back once issues are either completed or not.Render fixed not because of Avant but because my neighbour was getting something fixed and the kind gentlemen (who also fitted my new front door) fixed the render so thankyou chaps:-)
