I recently viewed a house in Reigate through White & Co, Reigate. I really loved the house and requested the advise from the agent as to the best way for me to proceed. I was told to offer full asking price of 850k which I did and I was told that there were no other offers on the table.Within half an hour of leaving the viewing, I was told someone had matched my offer. Therefore, I asked if I should increase my offer and was told no and to wait until the following morning when the vendor would make his decision. I knew that I was in a strong, favourable position to proceed with the purchase of this property immediately, so I had hoped that this would go in my favour. I rang Richard at White & Co first thing the following morning and once again I was advised not to increase my offer. At midday, I received a call from Richard to be advised that the vendor had accepted the other purchasers offer of 850k because the vendor and the purchaser knew one another. Richard then told me that even if I increased my offer by 20-30k the vendor would not proceed with me, despite my increased difference in the accepted offer price. The web of deceit unfolded before my eyes when I received an email from a local conveyancing solicitor, requesting to assist with the purchase of the house. The form the solicitor provided confirmed an accepted offer price of 880k and had all my personal details on it, which were provided by Richard at White & Co. They had accidentally provided the solicitor with my details instead of the other buyer. Not only was this a major GDPR breach but they lied to me about the other sellers offer, didn't give me the chance to represent an increased offer and they were not acting in the best interest on behalf of their seller. I was unable to purchase this property because of their dishonesty and deceit and they embarrassed the local solicitor who were now involved in their underhanded practise.My only advise, if you are a buyer or seller, avoid White & Co.

After approaching several Companies it was decided to proceed with White and Sons. Within about three months White and Sons had sorted out much of the previous disorder which was far quicker than we had expected. A couple of major issues which had been ongoing for several years were completed within the first year. Service charge arrears were quickly brought down to an acceptable level. The staff at White and Sons have always been helpful, courteous, friendly and efficient and have gone out their way to make sure issues get sorted as quickly as possible. We have no hesitation in recommending them.

Absolutely shocking service. Reading through a lot of these reviews I’m not the only unhappy customer. They were helpful right up until they got us an offer. Then we may aswell have not existed. Every interest was with our buyer and not once was our needs put into consideration. We have a very young child and we were asked to break the chain meaning we could risk being left homeless if we didn’t exchange by the end of November otherwise the buyers would pull out (bear in mind we only accepted an offer at the start of September and we were asked this at the start of November). We then reluctantly agreed. We agreed to exchange with a completion date at the start of jan. after us agreeing to break the chain they then insisted on ringing on a near daily basis to find out when we our new property is ready to move in to but after getting us to break the chain I feel it is now none of their business. Fortunately our new property was ready so we then agreed to move the completion date to the 6th of December. We then had our buyers turn up at our house completely unannounced asking us what was going on with the move as white and sons were not keeping in contact with them. We were then emailed again by white and sons to move the completion date forward again which at this point was becoming a joke. We’ve now exchanged on our property but did not receive a courtesy call or email to either let us know or congratulate us on exchanging. Quite frankly I don’t actually know what we’re paying them for. And a letter of complaint will be going to white and sons. I strongly recommend you don’t use white and sons. I wish I had listened to a friend of mine who is an estate agent who warned me against them. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.
