Very happy with Purley Branch

The start of the process was excellent as Bella got my property on the market really quickly and I soon had viewings and accepted an offer. Unfortunately, the process then all went a bit wrong once it went to the solicitors. Frustration was mounting rapidly but the advice I was given from Bella and James was, in retrospect, absolutely right and I'm glad I stuck with it. They were instrumental in getting the problems resolved and the sale has now gone through. Later than hoped but I can now see that given the issues this really was as quick as it could have been so I'm very happy.

Non existent communications or professionalism.

We initially contacted this estate agency through Rightmove for a property valuation, and they were quick to respond, which led us to book an appointment. After the call, we received several follow-up messages confirming the scheduled time, including one on the day of the appointment. Unfortunately, no one showed up.I called the Romford branch directly, but only reached an answering machine. I left my details, expecting a call back, but that never happened. I even followed up with an email and checked my junk mail just in case, but received no response.This experience was highly disappointing. The lack of communication and professionalism was frustrating, and I found them to be very unreliable. I would advise others to avoid this agency.

Corrupt Liars

Trying to buy a house. Lied continuously for a week that the seller hadn't got back to them, when I spoke to the seller, he told me they'd arranged new viewings. They never get back to you and seem very disorganised.They also try to sell you their own mortgage advisor and tell you that using them will give you an advantage.There is a reason their nickname is B*****d Thieves.

Professional, efficient and friendly service. All the staff at the Rainham Branch of Bairstow Eves have been outstanding and a pleasure to deal with.I originally used a lesser known estate agents, who did have cheaper fees, but I received a very poor service and consequently with no sale of my property. They haven't got a clue what is going on, who is responsible for any concerns nor bother responding anyway. We rented a property through this agent for a year and they made it a stressful and horrific ordeal from start to finish which ultimately lead to me taking county court action because they breached their tenancy contract. KEEPING MY 3500 GBP (deposit & partial rent) for no reason

Partial rent & deposit is still not paid to me in more than 100 days after leaving the rented property on 31st March 2024. I had to leave the rented property early to move to mortgaged house. I have paid them 1500 GBP their non-sense early contract exit and property ad fees; still they are shamelessly keeping my partial rent (paid rent for full month April) and deposit of 2000 GBP, which is nearly 3500 GBP. I was not expecting their service to be the worst in the market. I am going to report to property ombudsman for sure. NO ONE SHOULD USE THEIR DISGUSTING SERVICES.

There are some wonderful staff in there, however they have an utterly unprofessional and rude Sales Branch Manager. We agreed on entering a multi agency contract initially with the sales manager and then they try to change their word by saying, they won't work with this particular agency and if that is the case we are not advertising. Eventually I did go multi agency with Bairstow and the same agency, who he said won't work with and when the sale came from the other Agency, I had a tough time in getting our house key back from the Sales Manager. In the end, I got a member of the staff who was very helpful in returning the key on the same day. Third time around, after losing our previous sale, and again the other agency finding us a buyer, I asked for our key to be returned, which they had borrowed from an other agency to conduct a viewing and now they claim they do not have one and the Sales Manager sending very rude and blunt emails. I have to say this person went all out trying to get to market our property, coming home they same day when asked, collecting the keys, lowering commission rates etc. however once that phase is over, or when they know they have lost the battle, he turns into a completely unprofessional chap. Very unsatisfying experience overall, barring the good photography on their ads and the courteous staff. Note: I had to make some edits to the review I posted initially following these bitter experiences.

I would advise everyone to avoid …

I would advise everyone to avoid Bairstowe Eves Great Barr. We received very poor disorganised service in our case. It all started badly with them getting our property mixed up with another! It ended badly with it taking 5 months to sell to our very keen cash buyer. When this same property was purchased in 2003 it was all done in less than two and a half months, obviously Bairstowe was not involved.
