Rude and condescending. Poor experiences when attempting to view a property. I drove over 2 hours to view a property represented by them; however, cancelled after poor phone interactions as I would not feel comfortable giving Thomas Merrifield any sales commissions. Would recommend to think about how poor first (and second) impressions will limit your ability to give your clients good pricing power and negotiation.

Finding a professional estate agent who offers service beyond writing particulars and putting the property on the various property portals can be difficult. Some, once the house is under offer, just leave the solicitors to deal with things, leaving the vendors not knowing when they are likely to exchange. Having instructed Thomas Merrifield in Witney as a result of having viewed a property with them some time previously, I already had a good impression of how professional they are. Throughout the process the whole team have been highly professional and I could not have asked for better service. They kept me informed at every stage and were always prepared to go the extra mile and make calls to find out where we were in the sales chain. The staff all saw my property and got to know about it so when a prospective buyer asked questions they were able to provide answers. If you are looking for an agent who offers 'service' I can highly recommend the team in Witney. They have worked in the profession long enough to have learned that to sell houses and have satisfied clients, the practices of yesteryear are still vitally important.

GoogleI needed to get some information about the landlord of a property next to my own. It took a phenomenally long time to get a response from Thomas Merrifield Lettings -- several phone calls, emails, and a personal visit to one of their offices. I did finally get the information, but the experience was frustrating. I think my first few emails went into some black hole email inbox.

My partner and I rented the flat for over two years and TM were always polite and helpful when responding to problems. Repairs in the flat were dealt with quickly and to a high standard. GoogleSo lovely and helpful. It is early days in our tenancy but we are really happy to be staying in one of their managed properties - Lily, especially, has gone above and beyond. The previous tenant had covid anxiety and they were really understanding of this and it's left us feeling very safe and secure. They don't have many properties but if you're interested in one of theirs I really do recommend - the whole process between being interested in a property and actually moving in was completely pain free!

GoogleGenerally they are fine. HOWEVER I have been a tenant for one year and several times they have performed some maintenance without scheduling a time with me. They just send their workman to do the job without giving me 24hrs notice. First their excuse was "oh we tried calling but you didn't pick up". Well I have no reception at work. The lack of response doesn't mean you just enter anyway. I told them to contact me via e-mail as I check that every 30 mins. To quote one of their agents Simon Smith: “Dear Raj Thank you for the email and again I am very sorry I have made sure that the key is never given out without your approval, I will also make everyone aware that email is better Kind regards Simon” Yet today I find that they again allowed access without providing me any notice. If you value your privacy and your rights as a tenant avoid this agency because they clearly do not understand this little thing that we're all supposed to abide by...the law!

They always find pleasant tenants and quickly too, which ensures we don’t have any void periods. Very knowledgable, professional and supportive. Will never use anybody else to rent our properties!
