DON,T BUY A PROPERTY IN HUNTERS, ITS LOOK LIKE THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING FISHY

My name is Darshan, and I’m writing to share a genuine review of Hunters Estate Agents and Letting Agents in Chatham. I recently called to inquire about a property on Palmerstone Road, which is currently listed at £275,000. When I spoke to the agents, they informed me that they had stopped viewing the property and had received an offer. This seemed unusual to me, as it’s not uncommon for properties to be listed and then receive offers within a few minutes. Additionally, it raised concerns about the potential for unethical practices, as the agents were reluctant to allow other people to view the property. I think that the agents may be trying to sell the property to their family or friends internally and then purchase it from a backdoor deal. This is not only unethical, but it also prevents potential buyers from having a fair opportunity to assess the property. I think everybody needs to aware this things and we don’t need to this Hunters agency.

Poor staff

One of the girls working at the Lichfield branch, Nikita Barker, shared information about me that she obtained through work with my ex-boyfriend that I wouldn’t have wanted him knowing. Luckily I found out about this and complained to the branch manager, Chloe Warner, and explained why this could have put me in danger. I wanted this flagging and Nikita to be educated as I didn’t want anything similar happening in the future. However after apparently looking into it, Chloe advised that because Nikita hadn’t breached GDPR they were closing the matter. She wasn’t even going to investigate it in the first place, stating that Nikita shouldn’t have had access to the information I advised she had, she only looked into it because I had screenshots proving that she must have done. I didn’t even get an apology or a promise that they would ensure nothing similar happened again. Very disappointing, be very careful with the information you trust this branch with. I really hope someone else within the company sees this and provides training that is very clearly needed

Horrible Company, Do not use them.

They are very lazy with their work and don't try as much compared to other firms we've interacted with. They made multiple basic spelling mistakes in the detailing of certain properties, such as 'life support' instead of 'lift support' and somehow misspelling 'appliances'. They also have poor communications between potential tenants and letting people, telling us 15 minutes AFTER the designated time that the tenants would not be coming, even though the arrival was booked a week in advance.

I recently sold 3 houses with Hunters in Gateshead and I have to say Hunters did a job a great job for me. A couple of the sales were not straight forward but they managed to get the sales over the line and and showed great worth ethic and professionalism. Rob is always on the other side of the phone going the extra mile to help out. They also managed my rentals and did an amazing job finding me great tenants. I have no doubt in recommending their services to anyone looking to buy sell or rent property in Gateshead and around. Anthony Jowers

Really slow in replying to anything pretty much

If you ever need them pretty much they are very slack in responding to emails or phone calls. We moved out of our house on 2nd July and have only got our deposit back today (16 days later) this is with no disputes. Basically if they want something they will be quick to act, if you require something they'll fob you off, and they're taking over yorkshire by the sounds of it.

Unprofessional and unhelpful.

Unprofessional and unhelpful. We would give 0 stars if there was an option for it for the service we received from Hunters Harrow on the Hill Estate agents. They lacked in communications and didn't keep us updated on the progress of the flat which we reserved off plan in April 2020. They kept on giving different completion dates when asked. Initially were told that it would be completed by Q3 in 2021. We are now in 2022 and the flats are nowhere near completion. The layout plans for the flat kept on changing as well. They told us that they work for the developers and were quick enough to give us an ultimatum to provide solicitor details or the flat goes back on the market the next day, but they didn't find it important to answer our queries which were raised since June 2021 i.e room sizes, final floor plan etc. As the developer threatened to put the flat back on market we asked for our deposit back which was refused. We wanted happy memories buying our flat and this was just giving us nightmares. Hence we decided to send our last email to Hunters stating that we are not interested in the flat and they can keep our deposit as charity The so called sales negotiator called and told he will get back to us as he didn't want to lose us as customer, but till today he has not got in touch with us. We do hope that they use our Charity on improving their communication skills and improving their services.

Worst Estate Agency

First-time Renter Experience and Feedback on Renting Process As a first-time renter, I sought a property in Barnet through your website and was assisted by Gemma. Unfortunately, frequent annual leave made it challenging for her to manage her responsibilities, causing delays in resolving issues promptly. I want to stress the importance of providing adequate coverage during a tenant’s absence to ensure smooth operations. In my situation, the resolution process was prolonged due to the lack of responsiveness from your agency. Upon visiting the property, I met with the landlord or their partner, who mentioned that renovations were carried out, maintaining the quality as per the original listing. The property was well-kept and in excellent condition. My offer was accepted, and I paid the deposit. Hunters Review utilised a third-party inventory company to inspect the property. The inventory report, while seemingly accurate, included photographs labeled as “Professional” or “Hotel Clean.” I scheduled a date to collect the keys and sign the necessary paperwork. As a first-timer, I was not familiar with all the procedures. I later learned that I could have viewed the property before signing the lease, a step I regret not taking. Despite this experience, I would not expect such a lack of attention to detail from a well-established estate agency. I hope this feedback will be considered to improve future interactions. January 13, 2025 I visited the estate agent to sign the lease agreement and collect the keys. Upon arrival at the property, it became apparent that professional cleaning had not been conducted. I provided photographs to support this claim, shared with the estate agent, including the inventory report. The report omitted crucial issues, which is concerning, as it could affect my deposit if I decide to vacate the property. However, the estate agent informed me of a seven-day window after move-in to address any issues. I requested information about parking availability included with the rent, and will supplement this with photographs of the parking area. In the bedroom, I discovered mould on the windows and poorly applied anti-mould paint. I will furnish photographs to highlight these issues, though an in-person inspection would be more revealing. I raised these concerns with the estate agent, as they manage the property. Despite providing photographic evidence, the agent did not conduct a pre-move-in inspection, relying instead on the third-party inventory report’s description as "Professional or Hotel Clean.” I requested to terminate the tenancy to avoid payment of fees, but it was too late. Mould and damp are serious issues, especially in a bedroom where my child frequently visits. Upon reviewing UK rental laws: 2. Did You Sign the Contract? Yes. Signing the contract typically binds you to the agreement, including paying rent. However, if: The landlord misrepresented the property's condition (e.g., concealing dampness), you may argue the contract is invalid. The property is uninhabitable due to dampness, releasing you from liability. The landlord released the 12-month contract but insisted I pay rent until a new tenant was found. I disputed this on legal grounds, citing misrepresentation. The assertion was rejected, and I reluctantly accepted their stance, forcing me to find alternative accommodation while they retained my deposit and intended to collect one month's rent. The estate agency claimed I had not provided enough opportunity to resolve the issue, prompting me to send the following email: New inventory was completed during my stay. The bedroom dampness was assessed and addressed. End-of-tenancy cleaning was performed, supported by photographs. The landlord declined all rectifications, opting to proceed with a new tenant. I presented photographic evidence to illustrate the property’s condition upon departure. This experience has been educational, albeit financially costly. It serves as a cautionary tale for prospective renters with this agency. Conducting thorough checks before signing a lease is crucial, as the agency appears lax in its duties. Improvements in proactivity could enhance their service significantly. Photographs substantiating my claims were submitted to the estate agency on the same day. This was the Hunters in High Barnet

Not professional

What to say, utterly unprofessional estate agent. Some properties are for sale in ivyhouse road that we like to view, seen it in Zoopla. And was told that property is sold couple of weeks ago, off hand. I am sure as an agent they have access to the account and very easy to put it STC, rather than making people running around.

Fantastic efficient friendly service

I have just recently moved out of a property that Hunters in Baldock were managing I can’t believe in the difficult times with the pandemic how absolutely professional and efficient they have been. Both Claire and Chloe were brilliant. Supported me through the exit all the way, made sure the deposit was quickly paid back quickly and fairly, at no point did I feel money was being held unnecessarily.I would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of letting their home

Hunters Thornbury- Just don't!

Hunters Thornbury- what a disgrace!Requested a home valuation online. Estate agent Andrew How called and made an appointment for the following week. Time slot came and went, and no one showed up. My partner called Hunters, and spoke to Andrew, who stated that he knew nothing about the valuation, however, rang back 15mins later to confirm that he made the call and arranged the appointment! Rescheduled for later the same day.Time slot again came and went, and when he did turn up, he was late. He stated he got 'lost'... (On a main road?) He was rude about the area, rude about the 'square shape' of the kitchen, and rude about the 'lack of kerb appeal'... (The house is still under renovation at the front for goodness sake!)All in all, Mr. How was immensely unlikeable, and there is no way we would use the company to sell our home... ever.

AVOID THIS AGENCY!

Hunters (Harlington)- The agents and landlords prioritize money over tenant well-being and are quick to take your deposit while ignoring maintenance requests. Despite multiple issues in our apartment, including faulty electrical work, mold, and poor plumbing that allowed mice to enter, nothing was addressed. However, the landlord was eager to withhold our deposit to "fix" these issues, only to rent the unit out immediately without making any real repairs. Communication is terrible; agents rarely respond to emails or resolve concerns but are quick to chase tenants for payments. Be cautious when dealing with them.

Professional help

Had sell my parents home to meet the Care Home fees!! Looked at several Estate Agents and chose Hunters. Thankfully made the right choice. Jordan who looked after the Sale process showed clear expertise and professionalism. A problem arose when my Father passed away during the sale and she helped smooth things through. Hunters should be thankful that they have staff who have this quality and professionalism as it is the staff who make the Company. Thanks Jordan for your help, much appreciated.

Hunters Bromley &…

I am reviewing Hunters Bromley & Chislehurst franchise, which is somehow managed by Adrian . Upon requesting a visit to value my property, Adrian has indeed attended, although he has refused to provide a valuation of the present condition of my property. I am unsure of the reason ,probably due to not being capable to value the property. As a such i would not recommend Hunters Bromley & Chislehurst branch as I found Adrian unprofessional and a wast of time

WORST EXPERIENCE EVERRRR!!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!!!!

I'm disgusted and I'm fuming at how unprofessional this agency is... I had the worst experience today. An agent from their company rang me to let me know that there is a house for rent coming soon on the market and if we wanted to be the first ones to view it? I said yes immediately and we scheduled a viewing last week for today the 9th of October. I'm busy every day with calling different agencies to arrange viewings and I've seen from all of them how they proceed normally they call you the day before or on the same day you have your viewing earlier enough to confirm with you if you're still gonna attend the viewing. The confirmation viewing email I received from Carol contained only the address 41 Court Farm Road without a postcode... I looked up the address on the map and it came up that it's in Longwell Green, so of course, I thought that this is the right address.. I got a bit suspicious because no one called me to ask if I'm still gonna be able to make it to the viewing but I brushed it off and thought it's just me I'm overthinking it'll be okay. Then me and my mom this morning got a uber and went to the address we thought was the right one and our viewing appointment was at 11 am and I always like to be punctual and on time so we were there at like 10:45 and we decided to call HUNTERS to let them know that we are outside of the property and one of her colleagues said that Carol is on her way to us and we just sat there in front of the house and waited.. thinking this was the right address and thought that the agent has been caught in traffic that's why she is being late.. it went like 11:30 then I rang again and said that the agent still hasn't turned up at the address.. then they told me that Carol is at the address which is at Whitchurch.. and she was like you're at the wrong address.. and I was like the email that I received contained only an address without a postcode how can you be so unprofessional? as professionals they have to make sure they send you the correct address including the post code I was fuming because we spent so much money on uber just to get there only to make sure we would be there on time and won't be late then they suddenly tell me that I'm at the wrong address.. I got really bad mentally, my neck got really tense and my heart started beating so fast.. I was fuming! Then I rang again to say that we will get an uber to go to the right address and just asked them to ring Carol and let her know that we are on our way and she have to stay there and wait for us and not leave until we get there and see the house because it's the least she could do after being so unprofessional then we got into the uber and we are already almost at the right address and Carol herself has the audacity to ring me and tell me that she found out I went to the wrong address and I said yes because you didn't give me a postcode and the correct address and you didn't even make an effort to ring me to confirm if I'm gonna be able to make it to the viewing.. and then she said I don't have my car, my car broke and I had a relative to drop me off at the address where I did the viewings so I'm not at the address anymore.. I was fuming because I called the agency beforehand and I told them to call her urgently and let her know that we are on our way not to leave until we get there and she was just like I'm not at the property anymore and at this time we have already paid our uber to go to this property and we are almost at the right address.. Then she started arguing with me on the phone saying how it isn't her fault and it isn't her problem as she was at the right address and I wasn't, trying to turn things around to make me feel like it's my fault.. even though it was her fault and I said that she ruined my day and my mental health as I felt horrible and she was like I don't know what to say I felt hot waves, my neck got so tense and I broke down into tears in the uber because I've had it with her unprofessional attitude.. what was the cherry on top was the audacity of her calling me and telling me that she is not at the property anymore while we were at the uber on our way to the property I lost it.. as this was really the cherry on top.. I said to her on the phone I've spent so much money today on ubers because of you not giving me the correct address and now you have to cover all my expenses and you are calling me to tell me you are not there anymore as we are in the uber at this very moment and we are almost there.. this was the most horrible, unprofessional, rude and inconsiderate experience in my life. I'm never ever gonna use their services ever again!! They made the worst impression on me and I'm done with them. My mental health is REALLY BAD thanks to CAROL.
