This branch of Chancellors has provided a SHAMEFUL service to us (group of students) and I recommend that students and landlords alike steer clear of this branch. We have contacted Chancellor's seeking to arrange visits to a number of properties - we have been consistently told that they will call us back yet they never do. The inference must be that they are uninterested in successfully securing tenants for their landlords and that they have little concern for the quality of customer service which they provide to would-be tenants. Given the £160 administration fee per tenant this level of service is particularly unacceptable.

When you arrive from a foreign country with no landmarks, struggling with deadlines to find an accommodation, being accompanied by a professional who really supports you during the whole process in your apartment research is very helpful. I was pleased to find this with Chancellors which was a valuable partner for me. I appreciate the service provided by Declan, who helped me a lot. He was a good listener and he took enough time to answer all my questions even after the deal was settled. He was always quick and efficient to find appropriate solutions to my needs. We have just rented a house with this branch and they have been very helpful and let us find the right property. With the first interview and base on our preferences they offered us a very well suited list of alternatives, and when new offers get out in the market they updated it. Our contact with Chancellors was through Declan, he really understood the peculiarities for our case. I'm a visiting professor at University of Oxford, and our stay in UK was mainly funded by my home institution. This is a quite unusual situation, but he was very cooperative and help us to find the mechanisms to formalise the agreement. We are very happy with the professionalism of the office at Headington and I would like to particularly mention the good work Declan did. He called us when the current house we have was available telling "I've got something perfect for you".

We have just relocated to Oxford and received excellent service from Alex Zarecky at Chancellors Headington when we were searching for a property to let. We were tight on time, having travelled to Oxford for just a few days to find a new home. Alex arranged a number of viewings and gave us many helpful recommendations on areas and budget. Although we did not ultimately take a property with Chancellors Headington (due to finding another location we preferred) Alex continued to be helpful, offering to refer us to Virgin Media in order to receive preferential rates on our broadband and telephone services.

I started out working with Chancellors with some trepidation, as I had heard some rather negative things about them. So all in all, Chancellors had some work to do to convince me otherwise and I am delighted to say, that mainly due to Joe Brayne, we are very much converted. Unlike some estate agents, Joe did everything he could to ensure that we were able to see the property as many times as we liked (he even came out on a Sunday for us!) and really earnt his money when it came to Exchange time- really rallying all the parties. I would give Joe 5 or 6 stars, however the only slightly negative point about Chancellors in Headington and Cowley, is that in our experience sometimes not all of the staff are as helpful and great as Joe and Rose- but maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Thanks for all your help Joe and we cannot wait to complete on our first house on Friday!

You have always done what you said you would do unlike so many other estate agents who just pay “lip-service”. The property management department sucks - they are based in London so you never 'know'/meet who you are talking to, they have high staff turnover and they will take you for everything they can get when you check out. My husband and i have recently bought our first home through Chancellors. We dealt mainly with the sales agent William Powell who we were extremely impressed by. He was very helpful and always able to provide viewings even if they were late in the day or on a weekend. He was easy to communicate with via phone and always replied to phone messages/emails promptly. He had an extremely professional manner and was always very knowledgeable about the houses he was showing us around, which cannot be said about other estate agents we used.
