The team in Witney went out of their way to assist in a very tricky sale. There are always on hand to liaise between the buyers and both sets of solicitors to get the move completed. Infact it is true to say they went above and beyond to help and kept me informed throughout. I cannot recommend them enough, with special thanks to Rosie, John and Julia who are all very professional

GoogleWe were excellent tenants who paid rent on time every month and maintained the property to the best of our abilities, yet Breckon & Breckon attempted to withhold £517 from our £1,125 deposit - nearly half of what we paid. They charged us for window mechanism repairs that were carried out a month after we vacated and after the property had been re-let to new tenants, despite their own check-out report making no mention of any window damage. They also tried to charge us £300 for bathroom redecoration due to "mould damage" when their own inventory photographs clearly showed the bathroom ceiling was already chipping and black with mould when we moved in. We had no choice but to take the dispute to independent adjudication through mydeposits. The adjudicator reviewed all the evidence and awarded the landlord just £10 out of the £517 they claimed, effectively rejecting 98% of their deductions. This result speaks volumes about their approach to deposit deductions. Breckon & Breckon may be good for landlords who want an agent that will aggressively pursue deposit deductions, but tenants will only suffer from unfair charges and having to fight for what is rightfully theirs. If you do rent through them, take extensive photographs at check-in, document everything, and be prepared to challenge any unreasonable deductions. Good tenants deserve fair treatment, not to be used as a revenue source for routine property maintenance.

GoogleWe were interested in the purchase of a new build at Deansfield Park represented by Breckon & Breckon Summertown. We were greeted by Brooke at the property, whom gave us a thorough tour and plenty of information about the property. She was professional, polite and answered all our questions. She followed up and even sent us the bus timetables which was one of our queries. Unfortunately we were outbid for this property but Booke kept us in the loop during and after the bidding.

TrustpilotIllegally charging for cleaning
We are currently in a dispute over a minute fraction of our deposit, as Breckon and Breckon has charged us for cleaning despite the move in condition and move out condition being near identical. When we asked (several times over several days) for evidence that the cleaning was actually required to return it to the move-in standard, they provided us with a falsified invoice. We discovered it was false based on the metadata edit history, and the letting agent admitted in an email after this that it had in fact just been edited to change what the invoice said.

GoogleBig thanks and congratulations to the Sales Team at Breckon and Breckon, Summertown for selling my house successfully with maximum professionalism and minimum stress. Patrick Tustian was my main point of contact, but as the usual questions and issues arose through the three month process (pretty quick by current market standards I believe!) I got to talk with most of his colleagues. All were equally excellent and good to deal with. 5* all the way.

GoogleWe engaged Breckon & Breckon to help our family move from Oxfordshire to Wales and we are absolutely delighted with the service we received. Specifically, Chris and Lucy were attentive throughout the selling process, always keeping us in the loop, regularly popping over for brainstorm chats to see if we could get the house sold in what was quite a sticky market. It took us a while to sell, but I had complete confidence that Chris new exactly what was going on in the market and how to help us. Unusual for a buyer to recommend an estate agent but based on my recent experience of the Oxford based New Homes Team I felt it warranted some positive recognition and recommendation. They helped me as a buyer secure and exchange on my new Oxford apartment in less than six weeks from initial viewing and I’m now keenly awaiting successful legal completion. A special note of thanks to Matt, who I now understand is the newest member of the team which was not obvious from the level of service provided at first and second viewings and his handling of the submission and initial progression of my offer. He was a credit to the New Homes Team and certainly got my purchase off to a great start; before Mel, Lucy and Joe helped ensure we met the agreed offer exchange timetable. The Team kept all parties involved updated with progress and flagged any issues and required action. They ensured a smooth process throughout by timely monitoring, action and follow up, especially evident when lead team members’ were absent on leave or simply unavailable. Such absences didn’t adversely impact progress as all the team members were obviously suitably briefed and managed so promptly helped with emails and calls, or escalated if required, to get matters addressed and progressed quickly regardless of a specific team member’s availability. An impressive team effort indeed and based on my recent positive experience I’d happily recommend them as an agent you’d enjoy and appreciate dealing with whether you’re buying or selling.

GoogleRented a property through Breckon for the past year. Generally a positive experience overall. Callum Hunt has been especially great - professional, friendly and caring (5 stars individually for him). For Brekcon as a whole, 4 stars as a solid service but sometimes quite slow at resolving maintenance issues and issues around inventory at the start of the year. Nonetheless, far better than any other Estate Agents I have used in Oxford.

GoogleOverall good sevice, they found a buyer before the property had even gone up online. Joe was very helpful, even provided final meter readings once the sale had completed. Only improvement I feel could be worked on is the sales progression, with more regular updates as i did have to call up a few times. but would use them again.
