TrustpilotThe 2020 website update is appalling
The 2020 website update is appalling. In particular the navigation options are all over the place with options spread top , middle, left , right. There seems to be no plan its just haphazard. You get trapped down sub sections with the only way out is to use the back button. eg look at photos and all you can do is go back or see the floorplan. If you want to use the map you select MAP and you get an Option page where you have to select map again.it is so ILLOGICAL and FRUSTRATING to use. I have now started to use rightmove's 2 main rivals which i NEVER felt the need to do before. Was this design done deliberately to increase the number of individual page views I wonder?Bring back a common sense NAV bar with every option on it.And why can't you open the floorplan so its legible? It opens by default to a tiny size and you have to hit the + a couple of times to be able to read it. What is the point of that?

TrustpilotAwful Service!
Awful Service! They do not accept privacy or confidential information. They provide confidential information like Date of Birth to your employee when asking for confirmation of your job. Only HR when signing the contract has access to that and Van Mildert provided the information in the general request to the Team Leader. When the previous landlord is not immediately responding they chase you the whole time to reach out to your previous landlord and ask him to reply to the e-mail from Van Mildert. Really annoying; should be their job to chase the previous landlord and not calling me the whole time.

TrustpilotWhat is going on with Rightmove - I used to be able to choose which property alerts I was sent.
When searching for a property to rent the renter has specific criteria such as: maximum monthly rent, number of bedrooms, type of property, furnished or unfurnished, and also very specific about properties that they DO NOT want to be shown, such as studio flat, house share or student accommodation.Rightmove allows you to choose from all of these options and also draw the area you wish to live in.BUT this year Rightmove have changed something because the online site does not save your options and as a result I have received many studio flat details, several room-in-a-house of multiple occupation(student), even one listing for a double bedroom in a shared house that was listed as a detached one bedroom flat! This all despite my having selected do not show these!I contacted Rightmove twice regarding this but nothing has changed. Today I logged in to my account to check that my options were saved and discovered that none of them are. I reset them all and saved them However every time I selected set alert, a box popped up stating 'We cant save this yet. we cant currently save searches with student accommodation as a dont show!'I tried again after altering some settings but the same message came up each time!So it appears that Rightmove has a site that forces you to receive property details for properties that are not suitable ie: student accommodation! Also it is pointless complaining to them as they dont do anything about it.No wonder the letting agents are adding misleading and false descriptions to the Rightmove site...I dont suppose anyone at Rightmove even looks at the property information.update - I have indeed contacted you using the email address you have included twice over the past 3-4 months! But the response I eventually receive is exactly what you have written below!

Good Morning, Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear student and shared accommodation properties are not being excluded from your search results. All property adverts are managed and uploaded by the Estate Agents themselves and isn't something we do for them at all. Excluding student accommodation isn't currently available when creating an alert however, this is something our Specialist Teams are aware of and are looking into. If there's are any properties still being shown within your search results that shouldn't be we would absolutely like to help you. If you can get in touch at talk-to-us@rightmove.co.uk with the links to the search results along with the incorrect properties, we can look into this. Many Thanks, Rightmove.

I have always loved Rightmove, but I felt compelled to write a review to score the new website at 1star - Just in the hope that Rightmove will put it back how it used to be please! I just can’t stand it, sorry. It doesn’t work on my phone. I can only see a portion of the photos on screen. Half the photo is missing off screen. The app is fine. Please can you put it back how it used to be or I suspect that many customers will not use it any more. Obviously a competitor has joined the Rightmove team purposely to destroy the competition?? I also agree totally with everything that other people have said about this "new layout". It's absolutely awful, the photos only seem to show half a room or just one corner which is absolutely useless, the floor layout jumps around every time you try to click on it to see it, so you only get to see half which is no use whatsoever. I've never written a review before but was so fed up with it that I just had to look to see if other people felt the same, and hey presto they do!!!

TrustpilotNew website layout misses the mark
The new website layout is completely unfit for purpose. It was bad enough when they changed the overseas one, but now they have destroyed the main website too, unfortunately I will not be using it anymore.Uncomfortable navigation. Being unable to scroll through photos whilst also looking at floorplans/maps/description, etc. Inability to adjust floorplan size without zooming the entire page......just not well thought out.I wish that when websites made these changes, they offered the option to keep the old style.....I bet many more people would continue to use that! Shame, going to have to start using Zoopla or Prime Location now as I genuinely can't stand Rightmove this way.

TrustpilotAwful New Website
The 'new' website seems to be a regression to how websites were built 10 years ago. The static list off images is much worse and basic than the the old website. You can no longer view floorplans in a new window, ideal if the floorplans are a scan and you need to zoom in to see details. The rest of the layout is confused and much more painful to navigate than the old site.It really confuses me that someone actually designed the website thinking it was an improvement. But whats much worse is that it was signed off, developed, went through UAT and was released without anyone actually questioning the 'improvements'. The Rightmove site used to be much better than Zoopla but now I use Zoopla as my preference as it's better than the new Righmove site.Dan.

TrustpilotNonsense website updates!
These updates are clearly a 'designed by committee' and UI designers need to be sacked. I have experience in the UI / UX design industry and there's no way on earth a qualified UX designer would suggested scrolling down the page to view images, which are also fixed at a size too small. There's no real size difference to using the quick look option in the details page, which defeats the whole point of click through. Agree with the comments on the previous prices missing, street view going to another page (you're supposed to reduce the amount of clicks, not increase them!) and so many more. For the high rates you charge agents I feel for them as this site is becoming almost unusable compared to how it was. I know a few clients (agents) who are considering cancelling their contracts after these updates. Listen to you audience and change it, and please don't bother replying if you're going to copy and paste a generic response from a previous reply.

Trustpilotimages and schools updates
hi guys, sorry to say your new 'improvements' have missed the mark. It's now frustrating to try and scroll through the images of a property, this functionality worked better before - if you select an image you're nowtaken to a single page of images which is a really poor UX . In addition, I can no longer break schools down into primary and secondary, which really isn't an improvement - worked much better before. I appreciate you've optimised the pages to load quicker but I'm sorry, this is missing the mark on the UX.

They are very polite, they took 4 working days and yes they keep me asking (always at 5pm) to sign and send the landlord consent......(because I read all the reviews I send them the document everyday twice a day just in case) I think the problem is the fact that they have only one e-mail account and they receive an humongous quantity of documents everyday. My advise is to asks to your team if there’s anything that can help them to work better.

Hi Jacob,Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear you feel this way and that you've had difficulty finding a property. All properties on our website are uploaded and managed by the Estate Agent themselves, it's not something we do for them at all. Each agent will have their own company policies and processes which isn't something we have control over at Rightmove as we're not a Governing Body. When an offer is accepted on a property, some agents will update the listing to Sold STC/Under Offer straight away, others will make the amendment when contracts are exchanged, and some don't change the listing at all. There are no regulations in place that enforce an agent to make this change, as it's only at the time the property completes in a sale that it must be removed from the market. We encourage all agents to update their properties to Sold STC/Under Offer so that it's clear to home hunters an offer has been accepted, however, it's ultimately their decision. If you're aware a sale has completed on a property and it hasn't been removed, you can report the details to us.Our specialist Data Quality Team will investigate and take appropriate action. You can send the details of how you know the sale has completed along with a direct link to the property on dataquality@rightmove.co.uk.Many Thanks,Rightmove

TrustpilotWaste of time
They allow corrupt landlords and agencies to place misleading listings. I was looking for a 2 bed apartment near Heathrow Airport. I used the filters to remove retirement and house share properties, and the amount of house share listings that remained, being deliberately placed with inaccurate basic information, is a joke. Half of the results stated it was a 2 bed apartment, only to find out it was a house share once you clicked on the property

TrustpilotAs a guarantor I found the process time…
As a guarantor I found the process time consuming, and unnecessarily stressful. Having three sons I have been guarantor many times, never with this level of difficulty. This was similar to a mortgage application, without the confidence that the level of personal detail being provided was being handled in a competent and safe manner. I hope I am incorrect. Whilst everyone I spoke to was polite, apologetic and professional, failure to follow up actions, send emails and poor communication resulted in delays. Whilst many companies are having difficulties with home working at present I certainly wouldn't use an agent who is outsourcing referencing to Vanmildert at the moment. I hope for the employment security of their staff they can resolve their current issues and training needs.

Good morning Mr & Mrs Jopson,I am incredibly sorry to read that your experience as guarantor has been time consuming and stressful, our process for guarantors is usually the same as our referencing process and takes on average just under two working days to be completed. We try to make our process as streamlined as possible, however in this instance it looks like this hasn’t been the case.Without specific details, I cannot look into this further for you and provide solid feedback, however, please email customerservice@vanmildert.net with your reference number, email and property you were being guarantor for and I’ll look into this with you.I do want to address your concerns around the level of personal detail you provided how this is being handled. I can assure you that our data, both in terms of handling, security and storage, is done so in an incredibly safe manner. We use the latest in security technologies and work closely with our teams to ensure they are regularly kept up to date with training on how to handle and store personal information. For more information this, I can put you in touch with our Head of Compliance, who can provide you with more specific information. It is unfortunate to see that in your case, we have had negative feedback surrounding our working from home policies, which we have previously been incredibly proud of and receive regular positive feedback from agents as a result. This is something I will pass on to our head of referencing to address as soon as possible, as of course, our service needs to be consistent across the board, for guarantors, applicants and landlords, as well as agents.I will also pass on your comments to our internal training manager, who ensures the team are kept up to date on industry standard practices, as I am sure she will be very keen to improve on this review in particular.Like I say, if you would like to go into detail on why things were delayed and any reasoning behind specific actions taken, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Personally speaking, I am very keen to get to the bottom of this with you.I would like to extend my apologies again to you, and I do hope you get in touch. I'm trying to rent a property in the north east having started a new job and having moved from the south of England. I feel like a pariah. No landlord will touch me due to me not having previously rented, even though I've owned a house for over 20 years. My workplace will vouch for me but that apparently isn't good enough. there appears to be few available properties and very few ever even respond. Holding fees are wanted with the promise it will be kept when I inevitably fail the references. There's nobody to contact, every phoneline goes nowhere. It's a hellscapeUtterly depressing state of affairs. Not a single estate agent appears interested in helping. Nobody returns calls. I have the money to move in straight away.

TrustpilotNew Website Layout Is A Shambles
Please go back to the old layout on your website. The new format is NOT user friendly. You can no longer keep the photos on the screen whilst looking at the floor plan or trying to locate the property on street view. You can only look at one or the other separately. Plus you’ve got rid of the thumbnail photos which were very useful to get an overall picture of the property. The old format worked perfectly there was no need to try and improve it as all you’ve done is make it a lot worse.

I have recently tried to use your updated website. I was perfectly content with the previous set up. I don't feel this so-called refresh has improved the experience. If you could remove the top and lower banners. I am constantly having to move the view of a property's pictures of rooms up and down to get an idea of its overall look. The whole experience made me feel like I was peering through a letterbox, claustrophobic, and unlikely to continue viewing a property on your website. I eventually switched to a rival agent's site to view it properly, probably not what you had envisaged when revamping the site. If it wasn't broke don't fix it. I hope this helps

My Firefox browser is up to date, have previously been advised by Rightmove technical to empty cache etc which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. This is particularly annoying as any other sites I have open then require to log in all over again. Would love to know if other people are experiencing these problems.
