I take no pleasure in having to resort to this method to express my sheer digust for Newton Fallowell. This isn’t a story of a house sale gone wrong or a disagreement over buying a property but it’s regarding employment within the company. After an initial phone conversation and follow up in person interview with Peter Ledger ‘Director’, I have been left with no choice but to bring my concerns to this platform. The term ‘ghosting’ is often used when a company doesn’t have the common decency and decorum to contact a candidate post interview some form of feedback. Coming from a totally different industry I am well aware that I may not have the industry knowledge or company know how but I’m more than happy to learn and grow with a company that claims to pride themself on togetherness and diversity. Peter Ledger has failed Newton Fallowell as a brand and failed the basic principles of being a so called figure head of a multifaceted company. The lack of communication after many attempts of follow ups via email and phone leads me to believe I have been avoided as Peter doesn’t have any confidence in his own actions nor does he have any constructive criticism so feels the easy way out of the situation is to ignore. I highly recommend any potential candidate who is currently thinking of a move into estate agency to avoid at all costs the Newton Fallowell brand. UPDATE: this is incorrect and the email you have claimed to have sent me has been written today and time stamped retrospectively. In addition, none of my calls to the office the following week were returned. This is a case of you avoiding me for gains unknown to me.

Hi All, I would like to leave a big thank you to the Newton Fallowell Sales, Letting & Estate Agents Oakham and specially to Glenn. Since we contacted about renting a property, Glenn was the person that dealt with this matter with us and arranged for all the viewings at short notice. Even when we asked for a second view on the preferred properties without any notice he made it possible. On every property viewing Glenn's professionalism, knowledge, advise and information passed to us made our choice much easier. Throughout the process we were kept updated by Maisie and we appreciated her checking in, at times even just to say they were waiting on specific things. Taking this approach made us feel relaxed and saved us having to feel as though we were chasing. Quite disappointed with our experience with Newton Fallowell, it started off well with Ollie who was friendly, knowledgeable, and really took the time to understand what we were looking for. As a first time buyer, it really put us at ease and we were so excited to view our perfect house with him! When we put our offer in, we were handed over to Charlotte. Whilst also very knowledgeable, she failed to call us back on a number of occasions, and it felt like she didn't really care. For example, we were promised a call back, nothing so I called the office, Ollie assured me Charlotte was on the case and would call back as she was on another line. 10 mins later, Ollie calls and tells me Charlotte has decided to pop out instead of calling back. Once the offer was accepted, we were handed over to Peter. We had some issues with suspected Japanese Knotweed and so he said he'd speak to a specialist but 5 days later, turns out he hadn't even spoken to the vendor yet. So I arranged a specialist myself and confirmed the date via email with Peter. On the day we all turn up, including the specialist, and it turns out Peter had given the vendor the wrong date, so we had to re-arrange another visit, and luckily were not charged extra for the specialist's time. All in all there were lots of hiccups in our experience, and in the end we didn't go through with the sale for a number of reasons, including our experience with NF. The moment we decided to pull out we told Peter. A few weeks later, it turns out he didn't even bother to tell the vendor!! We were absolutely mortified, such an unfortunate experience, especially after seeing all these glowing reviews..

Newton Fallowell are definitely the best estate agency I have ever used. They worked really hard to get viewings and for every viewing they gave me detailed feedback. We had some hassle with a buyer dropping out, but very quickly their marketing resulted in more interest, subsequently more offers and finally a sale. We thoroughly recommend Newton Fallowell in Oakham if you are looking to buy or sell your house. From Peter's first visit to value our house we we entirely assured that they would not only sell our house, but that they would do their up most to find us our next dream home and they certainly achieved this. I've been impressed by the professional attitude maintained by all of the NF Oakham team - they always answered the phone and returned calls as soon as possible, they kept to timings of appointments, and were polite and kind throughout. Buying and selling has been probably the most stressful thing I've ever done, but Charlotte was there with us the whole time supporting us and ensuring that we were fully informed of everything that was going on. Charlotte and Peter, thank you SO much - we would never have moved without you, and we certainly wouldn't have found our dream home. My elderly father bought and sold a property in 2018 through Newton Fallowell in Oakham. The entire team were brilliant but in particular Charlotte who worked very hard for us from the first time we met her when the family viewed a bungalow in June to the last day when we completed on the sale (two independent sales). Charlotte was ever the professional throughout the 6 months of knowing her and her customer service was amazing. The word 'no' was just not in her vocabulary! The decision to sell through NF was down to Peter, the manager. The family asked for a couple of valuations but we knew from the moment we met Peter that he was the person we wanted to work with. Peter was so respectful of my father from the moment they met to the time the house completed. Moores Estate Agents seemed so disinterested!! Myself and Wife Ali moved recently from Uppingham to Barleythorpe, the support from the team at Newton Fallowell in Oakham was absolutely brilliant. Right from the start they marketed our property at a sensible price, higher than other agents suggested. Peter was in no doubt we would achieve his guide price. We did! We had viewings right from day one which was very impressive as we put the house up for sale in mid December! Every viewing was by people genuinely interested. Follow up calls were regular and informative from the very friendly, professional and efficient Charlotte. Nothing was every too much trouble for Charlotte and she never seemed phased by anything. The service was excellent in that I was always contacted before a visit ,the staff member responsible for the viewing arrived promptly on every occasion and normally within 24 hours I received feedback. Two individuals expressed serious interest in purchasing the property but did not meet the Guide price, which was at a sensible level. In the event my daughter, who had expressed an interest in the property prior to my instructing the agency, sold her property and purchased mine. Peter Ledger was particularly impressive and constantly monitored the progress of the marketing of the property and accepted the situation vis a vis my daughter without a quibble. I picked NF because they know the local market for retirement flats and because they gave me an optimistic valuation which I needed to ensure I got a good price to pay for my Mum's nursing care. In the end the agreed price was not as high as I had hoped but not for the want of the team arranging plenty of viewings. They gave good recommendations on strategy to deal with an uncertain period in the market. The team were very joined up and they all knew the state of play on the sale of my Mum's flat. Calls were returned promptly, all minor queries dealt with quickly and staff were always friendly.
