TrustpilotAbsolutely disgraceful employers!
Absolutely disgraceful employers! I've never worked for such a deceitful company! The AREA MANAGER promised a pay rise and company after 3 months employment, branch was performing poorly at best. So I did the manager job on a consultants salary for 4 months, asked for my review to receive what was promised! Lo and behold, the area manager wouldn't even put it to her manager as she knew full well they were false promises and were never going to be granted! I left on this basis as the salaries are poor at best, now 6 months down the line they're threatening to take me to court if I don't pay them a commission guarantee back! Absolutely disgraceful company, half the staff are well underpaid and want to leave but are obviously trapped by this clause in the agreement! Connells, Bridgfords, Countrywide all under the same umbrella and should be ashamed at how they treat employees. I was warned not to work for them but I went against that warning, being lured in with false hopes of promotion. Do not accept employment here!

TrustpilotIncredibly Poor Service Ethics
I would not recommend selling your property with this estate agent. We had a very poor experience wanting to genuinely purchase a property they were marketing... We had to push for our offer to be submitted to the sellers after declaring we didn't need to use their mortgage services. We had an improved offer accepted by the sellers, we were then pitched their conveying service, but we kindly declined, we were expecting an sales memorandum but instead the offer was discarded for reasons unknown and their phone just rings out.. We decided to move on and had a offer accepted on another property with another agent and the process was seamless

TrustpilotOne mistake after the next..
Moving is a stressful enough experience without having your agent tell you at three months in that your buyer has pulled out, putting your property back on the market, re-selling it for more, then telling you it was another property nearby that the original buyer actually pulled out of. Don't even go there!

Really amazing people both Sonny and Doug helped get us moved in 1 week. They were always there to help from start to finish and have continued to help after the move also. It was the least stressful move I've ever done!!! Highly recommended to use Connells Welyn garden

TrustpilotAVOID AT ALL COSTS
AVOID AT ALL COSTS - BUYER AND SELLER BEWAREThis company is focused on one thing, their commission. They do the minimum they can to maximise their commission. EVEN CONVINCING THE SELLER TO RELIST THE PROPERTY WHEN ALL PARTIES ARE READY TO EXCHANGE AND ARE ONLY AWAITING PROBATE! They only let people who are registered with their broker offer. So, two sets of £699 (!!!!! application fee when other brokers are free!!!!), use their packs (twice the price than through lawyers), and services. They are incompetent, slow and completely unresponsive.

TrustpilotBeware what you sign when handed the contract regarding their FEE
The only reason we chose Connells was because they said they will charge 1% fee from the selling price. I signed the contract with them for this but they took the 1% from the “supposed” selling price which was considerably higher, than the actual price we sold! It also took them almost 2 years to sell! When I asked for the refund, they just delayed the answer & didn’t reply to emails until it was too late, as completion happened.

If there less than one star definitely i would put. I haven’t seen such a horrible estate agency like them. When i moved to the property their employee make me sign the contract and promised me that he was going to give the kay at the second day but he didn’t answer my calls because was Sunday and the big problem my stuff were in the street because I thought he would give the kay another surprise that the previous tent where i suppose to move was still there so I beg him to leave my stuff in the garden and i went back to my previous property and slept on the floor because I had no furniture the second day he gave me the kay I found the property full of rubbish and many problems there then they keep waiting until 3 months to fixed them. My second problem since last year i have neighbour on the top and they do business (illegal) at their property so they make a lot of noise and they don’t care I have recorded the noise and sent them to Connells they reply after 50 days and said please contact the management 😂 i am stuck at this horrible property because I am student and landlords don’t accept STUDENT I am living in a nightmare everyday because of them I hope government close their offices i am crying everyday i feel so stress

This parasitic vile company(high wycombe) put my house on the market without my knowledge or say so. I have done my research to find out on record that via Hurst, jnp and others in the vicinity have all had customers complain about the exact same thing done to them. Needless to say I'm coming to close you down. All the way to the top!.

Avoid at all costs if you value your mental health!! Connells failed in their legal duty to inform us fully about our buyers position to proceed which led us to accept an offer from someone with a complicated chain, leading to stressful delays. They failed to keep us informed on progress and when contacted for an update, calls were frequently not returned. The service was so poor, our buyer regularly contacted us to find out if we knew what was happening with their chain! Despite making a formal complaint outlining their numerous failings, Connells would not accept any of their shortcomings. A disaster from beginning to end. Should anyone be unfortunate enough to use this company, the best advice is if you speak to them follow the conversation up with an email to ensure a written record of everything they say or do because their staff have difficulty in recalling anything discussed verbally.

TrustpilotWARNING !!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I saw all the other thousands of negative reviews about this abysmal company, I was relieved to know I was not the only one! They are beyond corrupt, an absolute joke. Unprofessional, rude, frauds and liars. I have had so many issues with them its unbelievable. They lied to Scottish Power when we moved in our rented property and we ended up having a warrant against us for S.P to remove our meter, S.P then stated they have taken the property and estate agents to court for failure to provide them with an update of tenancy and paying the arrears. When I then told S.P that we are with Connells estate agents he LAUGHED and said word for word "sorry I'm not laughing at you I promise I'm just laughing because so many tenants have named Connells, theyre known for this, If I was you I'd sue them and give them a world of sh**. This is not your debt its theirs." When I then informed Connells, there response was absolutely disgusting. I warn everyone to STAY AWAY from this agency no matter what. And so many of my colleagues, friends of friends, and neighbours have said the same - word of mouth is crucial. As are the thousands of other complaints about this AWFUL corrupt disgusting agency.

I thought Initially that Connells is right place for letting, but after letting they continously disturbed us with Sales and Letting related before 3 months of the contract, even though we say we are not available pushing us that we need to be in home as they already booked without taking prior confirmation. After contract they send us that it is worst report and saying that we damaged whole property which is already damaged in pieces that's why no one buy or let. One of the Representative said that we are staying in the property more than the occupants and said that we are like labours lot of rude talk and defaming others. Just talking in a way that they are staying in the home everyday and observing when we are in contract. I am least bother about Tenancy deposit because i can donate for this beggars.

TrustpilotWorst letting agency you can deal with…
This is one of the worst letting companies you can deal with. They are frauds, liars and unprofessional. They lied to me when renting my property, kept the money paid by the tenants for a month in their accounts to gain profit on it and kept lying to me about releasing the money. I called them several times to cancel the management and they kept lying about it and manipulating to keep taking the management fees and not to return any penny. They have no manners and respond after days and days of emailing them. No cross communication and they asking same questions.

Anastasija was very thorough, correct and quick to understand the requirement. Her range of options were just what I'd hoped for and even better too in that she presented an innovative shorter-term plan for me which was a better bargain longer-term. Thank you.Great communication, professionalism and intelligence. Human too!

TrustpilotWorst service ever
Worst service ever, i have seen there ad their move in date was 17 sept 2022 i submit my initial booking amount £161 on 15 september, when i came from abroad they said no its not ready yet someone is already living in that apartment and will move in 4 days, after that their estate agent Terri Ann and branch manager told me you have to submit guarantor's Employement contract, pay slips, source of income, financial statements, passport, and also they told me to fill homelet's forms, i did it on time, then they asked for guarantors employers details and we gave them, Now today on 30 Sept 2022 Terri and Branch Manager told me your referencing in not done so if you pay extra £800 to landlord then she can let you in otherwise they will move with another party and we will not able to return your initial deposit, but they didn't tell me this during whole process, and i'm living in Hotel from 12 days bcz i dont have anywhere to stay, they are very cheap and unprofessional,

TrustpilotThe reason estate agents have a poor reputation
Unprofessional, look elsewhere. Hard to explain how utterly useless Connells were when marketing and showing our property. We did all the work, we had to chase the agent for feedback following viewings and prompt them to speak to those who had viewed the property but not commented. Agents knew nothing about the schools in the local area when questioned by those viewing despite our property being marketed as a home suitable for families. Conells had no plan at the start and seemed to rely on the house selling itself in a strong market, this caught them out when it became evident that they had massively overestimated the property value. We made multiple price reductions only for Connells to tell us that this is what they would have advised! In the end we took the house off of the market having wasted the summer as we just didn’t want to deal with them any more. They did ask for feedback after we pulled the property and I gave them an honest and fact-based assessment of their performance, their response - a letter warning me that I’m tied into a contract with them and if I sell the property before it expires then I have to pay them thousands of pounds in fees! Connells give estate agents a bad name, think carefully before using them and if you do then make sure they provide a detailed plan for selling your property as well as ensuring they know your local market and neighbourhood.

The worst company I have ever dealt with. I wanted to use this company to rent my property out. I had to wait 2 months for the first payment, all I got was excuse after excuse, when the property was handed back it was total mess and nowhere near how I left it. I Will NEVER use this company again. All they are good for is taking money, over charging you for service and making up excuses.

TrustpilotConnells ‘un’common sense
On two separate occasions Connells , owners of Countrywide , have valued a property at zero , thereby rendering it unsellable. One one occasion the work required was less than £5000 and the property was valued on Rightmove at £350,000. Someone , please , seriously look into these abominable work practices and apply a decent level of common sense. Flabbergasted how they continue to operate, the only way is mortgage companies to stop using them , but they have a monopoly so this review is useless unfortunately !

If I could give below a 1 start I would. A corrupt company that did not follow due diligence and the tenants they founds for our property turning into squatters and ruined our house. The company did nothing yet still charged a fee!! At the time we also rented a property and took us 11 weeks to get our deposit back. The house was spotless! We complained to the CEO who did nothing - didn’t even speak to us. A group of poorly trained teenagers running a company with no idea how to fix problems but great at writing invoices. Avoid at all costs

TrustpilotI have the best letting experience with connells
I have the best letting experience with connells so far(esp west bromwich branch). They made the process stress-free for me althrough my letting process. I've met different awful agents but connells gave me the best services. Their agents were really nice, supportive and helpful. I am definitely recommending connells to friends, colleagues and every other person looking for a good agent.
