GoogleI would suggest taking all the money that would go to:
1) The deposit which we didn't get back;
2) Repairs which we had to do because they didn't;
3) Weekly rent which was too much;
4) "Cleaning" fees which were a scam;
and spending it on a box on the side of the street. At least there you won't get headaches from talking to Michael.

In response to your review it is unfortunate that you did not get your deposit back , at Tetris we aim to refund 100% of all deposits and provide information prior to your check out as guidance in order for yourselves to ensure the obligations as per your agreement have been met. At the start of your agreement a full inventory would have been carried out which you would have had the opportunity to add & amend accordingly. The representative would have used your returned inventory at the check out and I suspect the condition you left the property in were not as per the move in inventory and the move out checklist was not followed. Every opportunity would have been given to resolve any issues during and after your tenancy. Please contact the office should you wish to review your statements made and we will be happy to go over all documentation and reports carried out throughout your agreement.
Best Regards

GoogleAs an ex-employee of this company, I find the review below highly inaccurate and not reflecting actual events that have come about during my time here. Dawn (and Selina, and the whole team in fact) are highly professional, easy to contact and provide helpful information when needed. Tenants are never happy when their rental property goes on the market and speaking from experience, we have tried to make the process as easy and stress free for anyone in that situation. I feel the below reviewers personal circumstances have prompted the negative review and is unfair to the Company.

GoogleI previously rented a property with Tetris, the staff on general were extremely rude.
Halfway through our tenancy they came to the property and informed us that they would need to build a wall between the kitchen and living room for fire safety reasons. I discussed this with a friend who rented the property the year before and she stated that they's said that this wall needed building last year whilst she had been a tenant. When I discussed this with Michael from Tetris asking why we had not been informed that potential works needed doing before we agreed to rent the property he stated that they had only just found out about this and accused my friend of lying. When dealing with the staff of Tetris I had nothing but issues.
When we finally finished our tenancy, despite hiring professional cleaners ourselves the day prior to moving out, Tetris charged us £300 for cleaning the property.
I have rented in Nottingham for 9 years and had no other issues with any letting agents or my landlords/ladies, but I can honestly say that I would never rent a property from Tetris again.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

GoogleTerrible agency. Took weeks to fix anything which was usually followed with a rude email from Jo. Trying to get anything fixed was a nightmare. Followed the procedures with their online system and heard nothing from them for about 1-2 weeks, this was with every fault in the house. Call them and they are rude. Stated we should use the online system. Cleaners which are in the contract to come round every two weeks only came once a month, if lucky.
Landlord and agency popped around and knocked on doors whenever they wanted. I worked nights so it was incredibly inconvenient. Plus worried that they might have gone into my room on those times they had been round and i was not there.
Stay clear!

GoogleWe liked the property we chose and we lucky in having a good landlord who wouldn't mind helping with most issues. However, the staff at Tetris, particularly the maintenance manager Jo were always keen to blame us for problems. We informed of sofa damage which we did notice during an inventory but noticed later and were told by Jo that is broke because we had a party!! I think this accusation is a disgrace- i couldn't believe it!! We have been the most quiet and respectful student tenants you could ask for and that is the comment that is made?? Awful!! Also, being told to weed a garden which is full of dodgy paving is never been something Ive needed to do in a property. We never even used the garden because it was far too small. We have re let the house for another year if it wasnt with tetris - they made it a bad experience even though we like the house

GoogleTetris would routinely leave all maintenance work to the last second leaving us with trip hazards, broken lights and door handles and no dishwasher for a week. Once the ripped carpet outside an upstairs room (which was like that when we moved in) was fixed on the morning of the Nottingham council inspection. Also, within the first WEEK of our tenancy a car drove into our front door which remained unlockable for a week then broken for a further two months - the crash happened in September, the door wasn’t fixed until January, at which point it still didn’t lock and had to be ‘fixed’ a further two times. Please bear in mind the street we lived on was not in a nice area, not having a lock on the door was incredibly unsafe, especially considering the security alarm never worked either. The desks with drawers and chairs we were provided with were so cheap they broke in the first few months. We were accused of leaving an oily mark on the flags of the patio of the ‘shared’ garden - theirs from 9-5 Monday to Friday - when the CCTV footage that pointed directly at the two bottom floor bedrooms would have shows it wasn’t us. The freezer failed one night and around £100 of our food completely defrosted because the out of hours helpline didn’t consider it an emergency. The office wouldn’t inform us when (loud) building work would be going on (we were always woken up in the morning by them arriving and talking loudly anyway) and when taking prospective renters to view our property we weren’t told this would be happening on two occasions. Finally we all feel cheated out of our deposits, we cleaned the house before leaving and we’ve each had about half of our deposits slashed. Any small mark on the walls or signs of being lived in at all, expect them to charge you through the nose. It must be said that we were in no way perfect tenants but we found Tetris to be uncaring and unprofessional.

GoogleThis agency is a very good example showing the spirit of business. They are friendly when you get in touch with them, and once your money is in their pocket, they will pretend that you are no longer existing in this world. All your emails will be ignored, all the deposit will be in danger. What they promise on the phone will go to see Aristotle in a second when they hang off. For example, they can charge you £60 for removing left-over food. By the way, the new tenants have moved in before I leave, and I indeed cleaned the bin before I left. I am not sure whether it is their own style or generic social morals of England.

GoogleReally dissapointed in this company. Had a good experience majority of the year with no problems but having a lot of trouble for the deposit as most reviews have said. We have disputed the deductions of our deposit as they were ridiculous and have heard nothing since (blatent ignoring) despite emailing multiple times. We are still waiting and our tenancy ended in July. Would not recommend as can no longer call this a trustworthy company with students best interests at heart.

GoogleThe property itself is good and so is the location but I feel forced to move to another property purely because of the attuide of the staff.
I live in a 2 bed share and simple things like can I be made aware of when viewings are happening or even when someone is moving in go completely unheard, to the point where someone moves in and the first I hear of it is as I'm woken up from my sleep to noises downstairs.
And when I requested a call back about this, they called and immediately said we don't need to tell you, the law doesn't say we need to make you aware when it should be common courtesy especially when your in the house on your own.
Every conversation had with them feels like a battle, it just feels as if they are working against you rather than with you. But the funny thing is that they seem nice at first but once you move in and they have what they want there whole attitude changes.
I could go into so much detail, but simply put just avoid them because tenants will feel so bad that they have to move out and Landlords will miss out on money while they find new tenants so it's just a lose lose for everybody.

GoogleSTAY WELL CLEAR
Tetris are a bunch of cheats who do not care about the students who let the house and only care about making money. I knew they were poor before moving into the house, as previous housemates had had experience with them, but it seems they have gotten even worse. First, not only were they difficult to contact, often requiring multiple emails to receive any reply, which were often not useful anyway, they did not help with the problems existing in the house (we had a gas hob that was broken throughout the entire year, despite telling them several times that it was broken). Finally, and most importantly, like many other people they charged us an inordinate amount of money after we'd moved out -- we were charged £150 for "light cleaning" (among other things) despite the fact that we had hired a professional cleaning company to clean the house (which I saw the results of) before moving out that left the house almost spotless. Their lawyers are poor and misinformed (I speak from having to deal with them earlier in the year where they did not respond to any of our issues and simply described what sort of tenancy we were signing for -- something we already knew and was not relevant to the issue at hand).
DO NOT TRUST THEM IN ANY INSTANCE.

GoogleIn my personal view, I would not recommend using Tetris at all. Echoed by other reviews, charged over the odds for minor things including weeding the garden- even though this had been done prior to us leaving, the company waited half a month before inspecting the property and therefore the weeds had grown back. At least 5 times not giving 24 hours notice before entering the property and the property was a state when we moved in. Would tell any student to stay well away.

GoogleOutstanding , professional company who truly put their customers at the heart of everything that they do.
The recent work that Tetris UK carried out at my property was first class and finished to a very high standard. All of the staff that I have made contact with have been very professional and a pleasure to do business with.
I will definitely recommend this company to all my family and friends and I will use them for any future work.
Many thanks Tetris UK

GoogleSimilar to the two most recent reviews, we too have been charged in excess of £1000 for a well maintained, clean and tidy house. Tetris seem to be fabricating charges to all their student tenants, in the hope that they will naively pay it. Tetris have failed to provide an itemised breakdown of charges, instead quoting meaningless figures which similar to the previous two reviews conveniently seem to add up to around the £1000 mark. Exploitative and extortionate. Avoid at all costs.

GoogleWe rented a student house through Tetris for one year between 2015-2016. The house itself was actually very nice and well equipped, in a great location and lovely street.
However, Tetris UK were absolutely awful.
We didn't get any correspondence throughout the tenancy due to them having the wrong email addresses even though we told them the correct ones several times. When things went wrong such as mould and malfunctioning basins, they made us fix it ourselves, even though their promoted "in-house maintenance team" should have fixed it.
Not only this, we were shocked when Tetris charged us over £1000 at the end of our tenancy for damages even though we left the house in a very reasonable condition. £50 to remove a suitcase, £75 to repaint a wall "damaged by blu tac marks" and £100 for forgetting to "weed the garden" (despite the garden being in a very poor state on arrival), are just a few of the outrageous charges we were handed yet could do nothing about because it was their word against ours.
Overall a very bad experience with Tetris, I would advise the landlord using another agency to avoid further dissatisfied tenants as a result of their incompetency. Do not use Tetris.

GoogleThe house was a good student house. However, the service from Tetris has been polite yet average. Throughout the tenancy we were not sent our rental invoices via email due to them being sent to incorrect addresses. And after our tenancy we were changed around £1000 for a house that was left in good condition. The charges both seemed unfair in the first place and very expensive for what they were. Other student lets in Lenton would charge a fraction of the deposit that Tetris did. Correspondence on the matter was not great, and when challenged a couple of charges were removed altogether, making you wonder how they came up with them in the first place...

GoogleAbsolutely shocking customer service.
We were promised a refurbished property but we got a mould covered, dirty house with blood stained mattresses and condoms left in the bedrooms. After months of arguments, 'negations' and being called nasty by this apparently professional company we finally had the mould disguised and a few basic repairs. I lived a year in a freezing cold house with dirty furniture and mould presenting itself in new places every week. Being 6 clean girls paying £105 a week we made it as nice as possible and kept the house clean and the garden weed free but Tetris still had the cheek to charge us £50 each for cleaning the 'dust' in the property and the weeds in the garden.
They caused so much stress and ruined a year at university. Avoid at all costs!!!!!

GoogleI've been dealing with the staff in one way or another for many many years now. I've always found them to be both friendly and reliable as well as very hardworking to say the least.
Over the last few years I've also dealt with some of the team on a social side too.
The enfusiasm of all of the team is nothing but infectious.
Well done Tetris keep up the hard work.
