GoogleI believe NCHA claims to offer disability-specific support but applies a neurotypical framework and expectations to residents. They should use a collaborative, neuro-affirming curriculum of support for developing independence.
Their inaccessible support pushed me into a mental health crisis, making me feel that the system is fundamentally unstable for autistic individuals.
The support framework assumes residents have the same executive function and processing to complete packing and cleaning simultaneously, and can go to the office whenever help is needed, and can easily verbalise their struggles. There is a risk that they will let the resident lead the support and then they will follow their steps, which is a form of abandonment for vulnerable adults.
My support worker made me end my tenancy here when I informed her that I was going to sign for my tenancy agreement at my new property. She claimed to my parents she was uninformed which was untrue. She did not ensure I had all my items ready for my new property. She initially told me that I would be getting my items from The Furniture Project and then later told me I may not get them. So, I was left without some furniture. It is a safeguarding failure that they should not be allowed to get away with.
Now, I am in a state of environmental instability at my new property. I have to be thinking about what I want to eat and drink because I do not have a cooker and a fridge. I have had to buy breakfast on the weekend because of the fridge not working. Other staff members offered me a fridge which I later discovered was ineffective because the staff did not check it before asking me and my dad to collect it. I have been having to think about how I am going to hang my clothes because I do not have a wardrobe.
My living condition at my new property is a result of my former support worker’s failure to provide neuro-affirming preparation. It has been taking a toll on my mental health. I have been struggling to settle in at my new property. I have been feeling stressed, abandoned, and low.
I would not recommend this service to residents with a disability or another vulnerability. I do not think they particularly scaffold you when transitioning you to a new property.

GoogleNever lived under them, but what I know is that almost all their Nottingham properties are through Homelink (or the equivalent in other local authorities).
This means if for any reason you find it difficult to get onto Homelink, you can never access affordable housing. For example, you can be spending 45% of your income on rent (doing the best job you could get) and not be eligible. You can be waiting for your Section 21 eviction, and still not be eligible. You can be rough sleeping, and because Housing Aid puts the wrong date on your Personalised Housing Form you won't be eligible. Then the fourth time it's because they want to know who your designated Housing Aid worker is, when you don't know who it is and aren't allowed to Housing Aid any more, and Homelink don't do anything if you tell them this - they just let your application expire.
What I don't like is that some people get to get ahead in life, because they get access to help to have an ok foundation. Like some people have a relationship and kids young (which requires the privilege of freedom and good health in youth), and then can build a nice life because they can access housing - they pull ahead in every area of life. Other people from abusive backgrounds don't get that option, because we don't have kids and we don't have nepotistic connections with social services.

Dear Daniyal,
We’re sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve experienced in trying to access affordable housing in Nottingham.
We know the situation is extremely challenging for many people right now, which is why we’re committed to working closely with Nottingham City Council to increase the supply of new, affordable homes in the city.
You’re correct that the vast majority of our properties are let through the local council’s Choice Based Lettings system. However, we do have a small number of homes that we advertise directly. You can find more information about these on our website: www.ncha.org.uk/find-a-home/search-our-homes
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

GoogleAt 8 and a half months pregnant, the pipe under my sink burst leaving water gushing out everywhere at 7 o clock in the evening. In a panic I tried to contact NCHA to get help however their phone lines stated they were closed, not thinking I’d need to sit and hold on the phone after this message I checked on their website for an out of hours number where nothing was shown and to prevent further damage to the property and my home I called an emergency plumber out to isolate the water. (I did this as turning the water off from the inside did not fix this and I was not prepared to lay on the pavement outside to turn it off via the mains when it was raining and in my position).
Fortunately I managed to get a family member to come and isolate the water after contacting a plumber so the plumber agreed to come and look anyway as he was already on his way. He also agreed to do this as I would have been without water until someone fixed this which was not possible with me also having a 2 year old toddler (would be classed as vulnerable). This cost me £80 which I have tried to have reimbursed as the plumber stated this has been a small leak for a while (could also tell as their is water damage to the cupboard) due to how the house was built (new build) and that it I tried to get help unsuccessfully. This has been declined due to the fact that after their phone messaged state that the offices are closed, it offers out of hours help? Who would wait on the phone when hearing they were closed whilst also water is gushing into my kitchen? They said it was my choice to have a plumber and I should have waited? They also shrugged off the fact I was pregnant and couldn’t do anything myself. £80 is a lot for a mum who’s just going into mat leave again with a 2 year old already and I did what I could to prevent further damage and cost to the property. I should have known from the other reviews that they were not going to do anything. I also complained a few months ago after their were constant problems on the street with another person regarding ASB and drug use and again they shrugged it off. No support for tenants who generally look after their properties and pay bills on time.

GoogleI I currently live in NCHA services and would give 0 stars if I could.
Maintenance eventually get things done, but trying to reach them by phone or email is like waiting for Christmas.
The landlord side is terrible, constant contradictions. The care side is worse: gaslighting, manipulation, and endless excuses from staff not to support my needs. Most of their time is spent on CCTV, paperwork, or computers, not actually supporting residents.
When I complained, I was given a Section 21 and told my support package had ended, despite never receiving proper support in the first place.
Things are getting worse, not better. If you’re looking for housing with genuine disability or mental health support, avoid NCHA.

TrustpilotDon’t buy a house from these
Don’t buy a house from these. They will not repair anything at all. They will wriggle out of everything they can and palm you off on the phone. If you are so fortunate to have someone come out it’ll be some in a van that hasn’t a clue what they are doing and preform some shoddy workmanship to keep you happy. Avoid at all costs.

If I could give zero I would of. What was a lovely street now turned into a constant battle with anti social behaviour. People having windows smashed. Egged. Kids as young as 3 telling you to f off. Electric scooters, motorbikes up and down all day and night. Warnings given out by housing but still the same if not worse.

GoogleHonestly am disgusted with the services I have received. Have been ringing since I moved in about the botched fence - garden has never been safe. Today it has partly blew off and all NCHA can do it give me a inspection in March to see if I need a new one!!! Which is weeks away. My son has not been able to use the garden since October.
Not to mention the 3 months I have to wait to see if my property has radon in it.
Would stay clear of any house that are owned by NCHA in the future.

GoogleShody & lax company trading as a 'housing association' . The repairs are slow, delayed & mostly carried out by unqualified general trades persons. Reporting problems only leads in sending letters to tenants in an unrealistic time. Their way of resolving problems is basically 'double standards'.
I would strongly recommend considering choosing a reputable & professional association before choosing NCHA (Non Comited Housing Amateurs)!!
If the Chief Executive, Paul Moat, and four directors: Holly Dagnall, Allan Fisher, Naomi Dobraszczyc, and David Langhorne were to go on 'Undercover Boss' things would rapidly change!!

TrustpilotAvoid engaging with this company
Avoid engaging with this company, as it's not worth your time, effort, or peace of mind. I've reached my limit with the lack of progress on repairs. I submitted my snag list on April 24, and now, 27 weeks later on November 24, only 25% of the list has been addressed, which is frankly inadequate. There's no update on when the remaining work will be completed. Despite promises to follow up with contractors and provide updates, there's no communication. As a property owner, it feels like they don't care about your concerns at all.

FacebookLiterally can’t even put into words what this amazing charity run organisation has done for myself and my children by housing us at a time of crisis but they also believed in me too, even when my own mental health was in crisis when I became one of their employees, they supported me through not only being hospitalised and then diagnosed and coming to terms with my illness but they kept my job open for me and are always believing in me to achieve the dreams they asked me in my very first interview and becoming apart of not only a wondering organisation that just keeps growing but a family too and a community that reaches beyond! 🫶💛

TrustpilotDont buy a shared ownership property, mercer builders will activly try to wiggle out of snags and finish is bad
I have bought a shared ownership property. They used mercers builders. There were over 200 snags, mercers refusing to fix despite the snagger making sure everything flagged was within the warranty. Latest snag is unsafe stairs- my neighbour had same issue, they came to fix his but because I had laid carpet they are now blaming the carpet fitter saying he must have installed carpet faulty. I explained they creaked before the carpet went down but they just say they are not liable. There were no stickers telling carpet fitter how to fit the grippers , no info provided to me to pass on, and he cant remember if he nailed iot or screwed it in. Industry standard is nailing but he said he does often screw in new builds as the stairs are usually cheap mdf rubbish and poorly glued.

TrustpilotThis is by far the worst company I have…
This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with, and I would never recommend them to anyone. Their service is extremely poor. You can never get any proper repair from them. I waited 15 days for an appointment, but they cancelled it at 3pm while I was still waiting. When I called, they promised to come the next day. The worker who came had no idea what to do, he just kept saying “Really, really”. Then he claimed he had fixed the toilet tank leak, but nothing was actually repaired.

Trustpilot56 days with no water in the bathroom no access to personal care
Wow to all the reviews about the disgusting state of repairs or lack their of and the absolute incompetence of this housing association! Still waiting for my repair since the last review I have a medical condition and have been left with no access to complete personal care for 56 days. I have been charged £240 for a plumber to come to my property and take a photo claiming he was there to “make it safe”. They are claiming that was remedial repair. My complaint is now gone to a stage 2 as they still expect me to pay for a photo???!! So now I have to wait till August!!! Their customer service agents attitude is disgusting you can’t talk to a manger. I am likely going to the papers with this absolutely disgusting as an organisation.

GoogleAn absolute joke of a place to work for. You get absolutely no training on the job, on pdas or health and safety, just yold to sign afew things in a rams book (NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE) I had no DBS check at all and going into vulnerable peoples homes and some places i went to was womans refuges is shocking. I was given a hire van and never checked my drivers licence, which turned out 5 weeks later that they needed a hard copy (which i hadnt had in 2 years) for then me to pay 50 quid for a new one then once it came they said they didnt need me disgusting i have 3 kids i have better things to spend 50 quid on. My tools were left in the van at that point. they didnt even know i could drive 5 weeks into the job and then when i picked my kit up there was about 200 pounds worth of kit missing as it was just dumped in the back not locked up. julie and luke have no idea what they are doing as managers. Worst place I've ever worked at, to say it's a place that takes pride in mental health they cared nothing for mine they did want to hear it at all and thanks to this place it send mine into a hole for 2 months. What they say and do are two totally different things. Avoid at all cost especially while these two are managers
Also on the first day I was given a I pad phone and work alone thing none of which worked whole I was working there. I was told to basically work from my phone so I had no risk assessments or info on tennants. I then gave the ipad to it which when I left I had arsey email for theft of equipment when it was with their it department
For the safety of both tenants and workers avoid at all cost I could have had any criminal offences and working in your home, I had a co.pany van which I could have been banned or not had a licence which is a massive breach of ther hire contract and insurance, your mental health and wel being is nothing to them, your belongings and finances are not a worry to them, left on jobs no phone satnav or pda working huge breach is safety for Tennant and worker, no feel card which I was told to pay myself and get it back but some lads have been waiting 8 weeks for there's and at 150 a week I wasn't doing that,
And my review keeps getting hidden dodgy company. Who ever the pr people are listen your company breach every safety aspect. Me no dbs, no drivers licence check and I'm in your tennants homes stop hiding this. Not only that as a so called charity organisation why on earth isn't this place got true Christian people who care and want to do good in the top positions. All I can say if you are a true person of God please I beg you look into where your money goes and if you decide to invest here please understand that there is no charity here. Set up a real site where ncha cannot hide feedback and see what's happening behind their doors.

TrustpilotEmancipation from NCHA related ugliness moral compasses
This company can only improve by sacking most of their managers at all levels and make them reapply for their positions through a totally independent employment agency so they are correctly assessed and reminded of their remits - there is an overwhelming tendency at NCHA City Heights Loughborough and NCHA in general for managers to assist each other to batten down the hatches to avoid themselves beings exposed as totally morally unfit for purpose and bankrupt - I am desperate to move away from this perpetual nightmare of NCHA City Heights Loughborough - repairs are dreadful and it took them 3 & 1/2 years to repair my collapsed shower room floor - myself and a support worker here had to make a temporary fix so that I could still use my shower room and it was officially inspected twice by an NCHA inspector and photographed but still nothing was done for over a year or more - unsafe and neglect from NCHA - then they booked appointments in 5 hour wait in periods and never bothered turning up without any notifications or plausible explanations and many other repairs have been total bodge jobs even with 6 appointments over a 6 month period for my window latching mechanical assemblies to be replaced - they turned up 4 times and repeated the same bodge jobs as before bearing no reference to the actual correct repair job but just changing window handles that are still not connected to the slide latch bolt mechanisms because these mechanisms were the original problem and never got replaced and the final 2 appointments were no shows again without any notifications of not turning up and another 8 hours of my life wasted waiting in - the list is endless trust me but if you make a complaint it goes no further than and gets you targeted for harassment and nefarious treatment whilst supposedly living in a sheltered housing project for vulnerable adults whom they make lives a misery in a bid to silence you - these people should be exposed showing their true colours and they'd never get employed in a care industry position of any level ever again - the current assistant manager at NCHA City Heights Loughborough s a m a n t a is worse than ever vindictive - dishonest - supports bad people and ignores the good and a truly real nasty piece of work all round - and will stop at nothing to discredit a good persons name in order to cover up her multitude of terrible actions just relating to myself let alone others - this is now in writing and the person named so she could attempt to sue myself for libel but it's only libel if it's untrue and I'm more than willing to take an independent lie detector test but I assure you she would not - I don't care anymore - I just want to get away from this nightmare nest of vipers and never look back unless I need a recap in morally bankrupt behaviours and far far worse.believe me steer clear of NCHA City Heights Loughborough and NCHA in general if you value your sanity!
