Very disappointed with Linden Homes' accountability

Very disappointed with Linden Homes' response to a poorly built boundary wall. We purchased our home from Linden Homes around five years ago and have recently discovered that our boundary garden wall is leaning significantly and appears to be failing. We initially contacted Linden Homes for help but were told that, as the two-year workmanship warranty had passed, they couldn't assist us and that we should instead contact the provider of our 10-year extended warranty. We did exactly that, only to discover that the extended warranty apparently does not cover garden or boundary walls. We therefore contacted Linden Homes again looking for support. Unfortunately, the response was extremely disappointing. The person we spoke to seemed more interested in ending the call than understanding the issue or considering whether Linden Homes could offer any assistance. We have since had several builders look at the wall and every one of them has raised concerns about the quality of the original workmanship. In particular, we have been told that there appear to be no proper wall ties, with what look like just a small number of nails used instead. We don't think it's unreasonable to expect a wall like this to last considerably longer than five years. It's incredibly frustrating to discover that there are concerns about how it was originally built, while also finding that the wall isn't covered by the extended warranty on our home. We're now left with a potentially unsafe leaning wall and facing a significant repair bill on a new-build property that's only five years old. These simply aren't the sort of substantial remedial works we would expect to be dealing with so soon after buying a new home.

From the sales representatives to the site managers on the development we were treated with care and given fantastic treatment. Sales representatives were very helpful and fast to respond to any questions and have accommodated all our queries and supported us where we weren’t sure. Denice and Dan are exemplary sales professionals and have made what could easily be a stressful buying process a total joy and always left my partner and I with smiles on our faces. We had a fantastic experience buying from Linden homes, at Edwalton Fields. Mora our sales consultant couldn’t have been more helpful, took us through every stage and kept us informed. Our Site manager Billy made sure that every detail was taken care of and they both made us feel valued . The build quality is great, yes there were a few minor snags, but nothing more than you’d expect buying a new home but were put right straight away. I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to buy a house at Edwalton Nottm.

Bovis/Linden Homes show no interest in their customers. Aftercare is non-existent and customer service is extremely poor. They care only about selling as many houses as possible, not supporting the people living in them. They completely destroy the excitement of buying a home, and the disappointment only continues once you're moved in.
