GoogleMy partner and I arrived back in the UK after travelling for a long period, we were really in need of a property to rent. We popped into Howkins and Harrison and spoke to Evie who straight away helped us find somewhere to rent in the area. This property matched our requirements perfectly. Evie was so lovely and super helpful throughout the process meaning we were able to move in quickly!

Best experience ever! The first day we went to go view our new house we met Lisa Swinnerton who was very polite, she answered every question we asked, very professional. Howkins and Harrison are my managing agent. The tenant vacated, and we reviewed the property and planned a refurb, including new cooker. They had their trades people and contacts. We worked together, agreeing prices etc. Everything went smoothly and according to plan. On the first week after completion they had found a new tenant, paying an increased rent. Excellent work. GoogleI have been using hawkins and harrison for 3 years now. I have dealt with other agents in northampton and they are by far the best one. I won't bother marketing with other agents going forward. They find good quality tennants that pay on time and thats all you can ask for. My tenant also said that she thought they were a great agent so worked well for both of us. I have dealt Javed is great at keeping you updated and responds quickly.

All appointments made were kept and our agent Javed went out of his way to make sure the property was marketed in good time in order to secure the right tenant. The photos and description of the property were good and we had a tenant within 2 weeks of marketing the property.

Purchase of a house:Generally we have low opinions of estate agents, so its very brave of this agent to ask for our review! This is our personal experience for this purchase, so might not reflect everyone else's experience of this agent. We have made 4 purchases and 4 sales so have some relevant experience in this arena.Positives: For the offer process and after our offer was accepted the office team were brilliant, very helpful and prompt in answering enquiries, this continued right through until exchange - in this area we would have provided 4 maybe 5 stars without hesitation except for a big issue. On final our inspection the house was found to have massive hole in the floor, we were not told about this although it was known about. When we tried to renegotiate the agent was rather rude, which let down the scoring here.Negatives: What let everything down was the viewing experience. The person (although pleasant) sent to conduct the viewing had, or offered no information whatsoever about the property. As an potential customer this left us with the thought "if we had paid for this agent to sell OUR house would we be happy?" as there was no "Upselling" or attempt to "sell" the property and obtain the highest possible price. So as a selling agent we think there is room to improve. On the final viewing (when we found the hole in the floor) we were met with a similar negative experience, feeling fobbed off and been a nuisance.Secondly the house was marketed well before is was legally ready to sell, resulting in a long delay in the purchase. The house Title was not correct, the vendor did not have the right authority to sell and there was a charge (mortgage) on the property that was not revealed until the last minute. Therefore as an agent they should have applied proper checks and advised the seller and purchaser of this at an early stage.Summary:If you are a buyer then you will find an average agent so not a problem, and you might get a good deal as there is no "up-selling" going on! But you have to take a big leap of faith all is well and do a lot of homework yourself. Don't expect a car salesman's welcome and charm at the property either! As a seller we would probably ask them for a valuation, but would be really insistent we would be paying for them actually do the salesman's part in the "selling of our house" before using them as a selling agent.As we first said, this was our experience and might be unique, so give them a try but make sure you are clear on what you expect.

It’s an interesting one because this was a complicated sale as the vendor was incapacitated and various issues relating to the property and charges arose during the purchase process and this caused unforeseen delays. The issues were unknown to the trustees and us until they were brought to our attention by the solicitor and most of which could not have been pre-empted by the seller or by us.The property was described as needing ‘full modernisation and refurbishment’ as the house was partially derelict. Unfortunately, we were not aware there was a hole in the floor when we carried out the viewings as there was still a fair amount of furniture and personal belongings still to be cleared from the property. This property was very popular with potential buyers and we quickly had a total of 38 viewings over several afternoons and mornings and we then went to a sealed bid process. During the viewings, because of the level of interest, the object of the exercise was to meet and greet and offer a friendly and professional approach to each individual viewer. We are sorry that you feel this fell short of your expectations. Every potential purchaser was greeted with a set of details, a pre-printed information form with guidance on how they should present their offer and the information that we required prior to the sealed bid closing date.We didn't feel there were holes in our process for the sale of this property, so again we apologise that you felt there were. We do really appreciate your open and honest feedback and we’ll take it all onboard to help us in continually improving our service. We hope you are happy in your new home.

I have just sold my house with Howkins & Harrison and I have no doubts in highly recommending them to anyone who needs to sell their property. Trust me, they are not like the "usual" estate agents. The continued care and attention that I was given throughout the process of buying and selling was second to none. Not only do you get support from them individually, all the team are happy to help. Messages are received and responded to immediately. The attitude of the staff is impeccable. If you have a problem, a need or just reassurance, there is always somebody at hand to give that. Their knowledge and professionalism is first class, but, I believe, more importantly, they really do care. They are always on hand to speak to solicitors and other agents in the chain. Buying and selling houses is very high on the list of stresses of life but having Howkins & Harrison there for guidance and support is vital! I have to mention Michael Cruickshank who introduced me to Howkins & Harrison and took fabulous photographs of my property. Thank you so much Michael. Christopher Ollerenshaw was my main contact and he is the sweetest, kindest and the most professional man to have look after you when selling your property. Julie Tavinor was brilliant and always reassuring and, of course Ann who made my brochure look amazing. I'm sorry if I have forgotten to mentioned anyone else, and thank you again to the whole team. You've made the process of my move so much smoother, and I cannot thank you all enough. I am in the process of purchasing a property that Howkins and Harrison had up for sale.I cannot speaking highly enough of one member of staff that has gone above and beyond for me to get this sale completed.After being off for two weeks she came back and I called her at 9-15 on the morning of her return by lunchtime she had the answers that I had been waiting for over a month for my solicitor to get!!She literally set too until she got the answers. She also helped to sort the completion date as again the solicitor was getting no where!She was constantly in contact with me to keep me updated.I highly recommend the excellent work that Angie did for me and she is truly a valuable asset to Howkins and Harrison’s.
