GoogleMany thanks to Chris and his team for selling our bungalow. It had been run down due the dementia of both parents, but he kept on it until it was sold, always trying to get the best for us. With regular communication, keeping us up-to-date with any movement, and happy to give advice, they were all friendly and professional throughout.

To then become a sole executor of a will and have to deal with probate and a house sale. ALL from the other side of the world in New Zealand was never going to be easy. Having you guys work alongside me and support this process has been invaluable and I could not have done it without you. From the; prompt emails, great communication, getting contacts-contractors/ chasing up buyers and solicitors and just being on the end of any emails to answer questions was exactly what I needed. I will be sure to recommend you to everyone. (Maybe not in NZ though....:-) I will do my best to get a small token of my apprestion dropped into your office. Also, my family and I will be visiting the UK during Xmas of this year and I will certainly visit you to express my gratitude in person. Thank you again David, Charlotte and Family

GoogleLANDLORDS AND TENANTS BEWARE! Throughout my five years of renting a "let and managed" property via Bloxham and Barlow I don't have anything positive to say. From rude and condescending behavior from staff, poor practices to sheer incompetence. We were left with an electric shower that was sparking and producing a burning electrical smell for over a month after initially reporting the issue and constant chasing for an update. We had to buy ourselves a shower adaptor for the bath taps as bathing everyday was impractical. Bloxhams excuse was they couldn't get hold of the landlord. This was a serious potential hazard, not just to us but the property! At great personal expense we had to move out and put our cats into a cattery for a week whilst electrical safety works were completed to bring the property up to standard for new regulations. We were assured the property would be livable upon our return. It was devastating to come back to, before we even entered there were wires, old light fittings and plaster outside the home, the house was covered in plaster dust and chunks, wiring and rubbish. Sentimental ornaments were broken, a floor board in our son's room was broken (and never fixed, then they tried and failed to claim this from our deposit) several loft boards were broken and the walls left with a "slap dash" approach to plastering. We were never even issued an apology let alone any compensation. This was Bloxhams own electrical contractors. The walls were never repaired during the duration of our tenancy, for years! Until we left. We had constant inspections, rent increases and surprise visits from our landlord under the guise of "contractors" coming to fix issues. Said issues were never fixed! We had blocked leaking guttering, damp issues and a hole in the roof. Broken side gate with side access to the property (security issue) no garden fence and badgers destroying the garden as a result. We were left in a constant state of stress. We never had a legoinarre risk assessment, putting our health at risk and the landlord at risk of liability should anything had gone wrong. When we left the property Bloxham went out of their way to make things unpleasant, they tried to charge "rent" for a set of drawers and a ladder that was left in the property, which was stated in their inventory report to remain at the property. Not only was this ridiculous it was also illegal under Tenancy Fees act passed in 2019. Do your homework Bloxham. They also tried to keep our entire deposit, so we escalated matters to the Tenancy deposit scheme. TDS case - Bloxhams claims against us got more ridiculous, from unpaid rent (I'm guessing for the drawers as we had no arrears?) to the property being dirty (we paid for and had receipts for an end of tenancy clean) to "invoices" being submitted for new flooring throughout, a cleaner that cost them double ours and redecorating which always needed doing since the electrical works (think ugly messy plaster streaks up every wall in the house with a light fitting) which was not caused by us as tenants. To wild claims of extra tenants being in the property not declared. They jumped from wanting our whole deposit to claiming nearly £2.5k! TDS were amazing and saw through Bloxham's and our landlords lies, they also spotted the cleaning "invoice" submitted by Bloxham was over 2 weeks after we left! The carpets were never replaced so those invoices were false too, how do I know? The property is now up for sale with another agent. I'm guessing our landlord wasn't thrilled with Bloxham either. Nearly every point Bloxham claimed for was shot down, we got nearly our full deposit back, a great result as they were claiming over double our deposit! We lost a small amount from putting a new modern fireplace in the lounge and not changing it back, ironically we meant well doing so as the old one was dated and rusty, it also was still there in the loft so could easily be plugged back in which was communicated. This was also not changed and is visible in the For sale listing. I could go on, but I'm out of text!

GoogleI want to say a heartfelt thank you to Cherry!, she has been absolutely amazing!! Very genuine and caring!! I was purchasing a property through the agents Cherry works at. It has been a very stressful 6 months with my buyers and the property I was buying as they weren’t transparent. Unfortunately I had a terrible agent and the communication broke down but Cherry was absolutely fantastic always answered my emails or phone calls in a timely manner and happy to help where she could to be the negotiator. Not once did Cherry ever give the impression the frustrations within the chain she was always so cheerful and professional! Although Cherry was not my agent she kept the sale going through her communications and positively! Unfortunately through no fault of Cherry the chain fell through. I am so sorry as Cherry put her all into the sale from start to finish!. If you are thinking of selling your property I can recommend this estate agent.!!! It was a pleasure dealing with cherry always seemed happy when I rung which I’m sure was not always the case with all the problems! I cannot recommend this agency highly enough!!! 5 stars!!!! Thank you Cherry for everything you did for me you don’t know how much I appreciated it !!!. 😊

GoogleI recently engaged Bloxham & Barlow to handle the sale of my late mother’s property. What an outstanding service they provided. My main point of contact was Cherry who, along with Chris Bloxham kept me full appraised of progress throughout the sale process. Property visited on a Friday. The listing went live the following Monday. There were multiple accompanied viewings on Tuesday and Wednesday; and the property was sold (STC) on Thursday. Cherry subsequently negotiated a slight change in the sale price for me, resulting from some minor observations in the buyer’s survey report; obtaining a far better outcome than I could have managed. There was no financial advantage to B&B in doing this, as the sale was based on a fixed fee, no sale no fee basis. It was done purely for my benefit; I was prepared to go lower if necessary to preserve the sale, but Cherry persevered to get me the best possible price. I would, without hesitation, use Bloxham & Barlow for any future property transactions I may undertake and would thoroughly recommend them to others.

GoogleHorrible estate agents. They have a tenant that has harassed and bullied me for almost 3 years now just because I use a wheelchair. They have confirmed they have broken their tenancy agreement but don’t evict the tenant and actually facilitate the bullying. They suggested I move house when I reported the issues and then forced me to prove to them I own my home and land as they didn’t believe a wheelchair user could own a house. They made me take my deeds down to their inaccessible office. I would never recommend this place. They need to learn a lot more about the equality act and how to behave.

GoogleDon't rent from them unless you are mega rich. My rent (tiny two bed) just went up by £287 per month leaving me with no option other than being homeless (I get one month). No sympathy, just greedy estate agents and landlords.

GoogleWe were tempted to use an on-line only agent but glad we didn't. With something as critical and stressful as selling a house, it is more important nowadays that there is a friendly and helpful person to assist, and Bloxham & Barlow certainly met this brief. Whilst they are also comparable with their on-line presence, real people that you can speak to and/or see in person really adds that missing link to re-assure and get things moving with other parties when needed.
