GoogleWhat a brilliant estate agent! We have recently worked with William H Brown to purchase our first property as first time buyers and we couldn't have asked for more. The team were all very committed and determined to help us across a long journey and offered helpful mortgage advice, budgeting stratagies, assisstance looking and much more. In particular Andy Winston and Paul Witherspoon have been exceptionally helpful in this process and have truly gone above and beyond! The lifetime fee is worth it as you get a wonderful and determined team to help you and make a stressful process much easier.

Anne Luby has been amazing from the very beginning. She took the time to arrange regular Teams meetings, which made the whole experience feel much more personal. As a first time buyer, I had absolutely no idea where to start and was a complete novice who felt out of her depth, but Anne guided me through every step of the process.

GoogleI had really smooth and experience with them, it was for the sale of my first home so I was all new for me but everything was properly explained perfectly and there was no worry about the process. Negotiator Paul Witherspoon kept me up to date with everything going on with the sale which I greatly appreciated as well, Pictures looked great as well!

GoogleIt was a very long and exhausting experience
selling our house and buying our home. We were originally with another estate agent but soon changed to William H Brown and how glad we did! The staff at Cromer were amazing, they dealt with my questions with so much patience and understanding. They even answered the phone when Iβm sure theyβd have preferred not to! π Thank you so much to the amazing team lead by a great manager.
Probably the best estate agent in Norfolk!

TrustpilotPLEASE STEER WELL CLEAR!!
Poor communication, false promises from sales, lettings and mortgage services. Started off great but once they've had your money they don't care about resolving any issues. Don't bother with the lifetime membership as you'll have to do all the work yourself. Don't bother with management services for letting a property either, they won't tell you about any problems and they'll let your tenants damage your property and steal from you without any reconciliation measures or compensation. I sold my flat over a year ago and I'm still battling with them and the Zero Deposit scheme to compensate me for my property being stolen and damage that I paid to fix for the new owner out of my own pocket. PLEASE STEER CLEAR, SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE!!

TrustpilotAs a tenant this is the worst rental agency I've ever dealt with - expected more from such a big name
As a tenant this is the worst rental agent I've ever dealt with. 1) Difficult to get in touch with - they hardly ever answer the phone. 2) The property was dirty when we moved in, no inventory provided. 3) The property was managed by Sequence Ltd who have provided a very disappointing service - early on we were told (via a phone call and after several weeks of us asking) to arrange for repair of a maintenance issue ourselves and that this could be deducted off our rent afterwards, and that the landlord had instructed this. We never received the refund, they said because they didn't have records of that instruction. Several staff members had started then left during our tenancy which didn't help (we were there for 6 months). 4) We are now having to contact Tenancy Deposit Scheme to get our deposit back relating to a different issue, mostly due to our inadequate landlord who it seems is trying to claim a random amount of money anywhere he might get away with it (we left the property in a cleaner state than when we arrived to try to avoid any possible excuses for deduction from deposit). Sequence Ltd doesn't appear to know about or be bothered about the law and tenant's rights.

GoogleA huge thank you to the team at the Cromer office, and especially Paul with whom I visited several properties on 3 separate occasions, eventually finding the new home I was looking for. Many thanks for your patience, good humour and overall efficiency during this time. I would thoroughly recommend this team to anyone embarking on a house move.

TrustpilotOllie Aston flat inspection
This Morning I had Ollie Aston attend my flat for an annual inspection. He was on time as agreed. He took photos for Landlord and was a very pleasant with his customer communication during the visit. I raised a few questions which I hope to hear back. I wish him the success in his employ and rate 5 star service. Overall have dealt with WHB for 6 years always been of a high standard.

TrustpilotI would not trust these people
I would not trust these people, I emailed them to arrange a viewing on a tenanted property, no contact, after a couple of days I called them to arrange a viewing for same property, straight away the sales person tried steering me to another property instead, but I held firm, they said they would get back to me with an appointment, they never did, itβs now sold. They have preferred investors waiting in the background, other sectors would not get away with it.

GoogleBeing first time buyers my partner and I were unsure on the steps we would need to take to secure our first home, we spoke to Archie the mortgage broker, who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, he was happy to guide us through the different stages of the process and what we would need to get a mortgage, along with sorting out the necessary insurances to cover us and the house. He always keeps us in the loop with any progress aswell. Would highly recommend.

TrustpilotAll I can say is they are shocking
All I can say is they are shocking. They have a brilliant sales pitch to get you hook on using them to sell your property then once you agree the service they provide goes downhill from there. 99% of the viewings are time wasters as they are not vetted before viewing that they are even interested or proceedable to purchase. They promise open house viewing days but have never once done anything like that. Communication is poor and I'm always chasing them for everything. You get sent offers you accept them then they say the buyer has lowered their offer will you accept it.

TrustpilotImpeccable Service!
We recently had the pleasure of using William H Brown also known as Sequence as our estate agent during our house purchase, and I cannot speak highly enough of their outstanding service. From the very beginning, Libby our Mortgage Advisor was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs.

TrustpilotKeep pestering me despite house selling months ago
Came to our house for a free valuation before putting it on the market. We went with another agent because we felt William H Brown overvalued our house. We told them as soon as we decided that we wouldnβt be going with them. Since then, they have pretty consistently called me from various offices (local/regional etc) asking to co list with the agent we chose, trying to set up an appt with their in house mortgage advisor, asking if we have found anywhere else, asking how our sale is progressing etc. Our house sold in a week and we had an offer accepted on our new house the following week so we have absolutely no need for any input from William h brown. Yet still, three months later, they call me fortnightly to ask how everything is going, despite me asking them repeatedly to remove my details and any data associated with me. They are dogs with a bone who wonβt take no for an answer!

TrustpilotUnprofessional
I dealt with William H brown, Holderness road branch as a tenant. Firstly, they tried to scam me into buying home insurance as an essential requirement of the contract. During the tenancy my landlord was lovely and remained in touch directly, so thankfully I didnt have to deal with them. At the end, I was in huge trouble because WH brown's absolute unprofessionalism. Despite multiple calls and requests they failed to provide references for my next agent. I had no where to go for a week due to this delay. It cost me a fortune! Over a month has lapsed but they have done anything about my deposit. When asked they said to get in touch with the lamdlord directly. Whereas they were the ones processing the deposit collection initially. After sorting it with the landlord myself it was over 2 weeks without any further progress to deposit return. Really a shameful service!! Staff and service all pathetic

GoogleMy mortgage application was a bit of a complicated one as I was just about to start a new job, but the mortgage advisor Archie Cartwright was fantastic and he ensured that we approached the right lender and that it all went as smoothly as possible. As well as offering his expertise in finding the right mortgage, Archie made sure that I was kept up to date at every turn. Thank you!

Its been 5 years since I moved out of a rented property by William H Brown in St Albans and I have not been refunded my holding deposit. I have contacted them severally over the phone and emails and no luck till date. Nothing but radio silence. First I was told the Landlord would be contacted to claim back the Β£500 or so left after she dubiously claimed damages on the property. They then later pushed it on me to speak chase the landlord to reach an agreement on obtaining my deposit back. I have used a 2026 date on my review because trustpilot doesnt allow you to go all the way back to 2021.

TrustpilotAvoid WH Brown!
Sold my house through W H Brown and they were the worst estate agent I have ever used. Communication was nil, left messages and they didnβt get back at all. Actually went 5 MONTHS with no contact! Sold my house to first viewer for full asking price so they had very little to do.When I complained to head office, they stated the branch had done nothing wrong! Obviously have low standards. Definitely an estate agent to avoid. No wonder they have a poor reputation

TrustpilotCould not have had better service
Went for a viewing on a bungalow back in the Summer and met a lovely lady called Marina from the Kingsley branch. We didn't like the bungalow but, we did like Marina and we put our house sale in her capable hands. She sold our house within a day I think and everything went really well until 6 weeks later, our buyer lost their buyer. However, about 4 weeks later, our buyer found a new buyer and we all set of again. However, due to solicitors not talking to each other and them being particularly hard to get hold off the last month or so of proceedings was very stressful and just made hard by the solicitors. However, Marina and everyone at William Browns worked so, so, so hard getting solicitors to talk and get things done and eventually, we exchanged and completed last week! The team at Kingsley worked so hard for us and went above and beyond our expectations - Marina was our main contact and I can not speak highly enough of her and would love to thank her for her straight forward talking, her honesty and her absolute dedication when it was actually quite hard work!! Thank you Marina and team βΊοΈ To have full transparency, the reason I could not give 5 stars was due to the solicitors we used which were recommended by William Browns - they were shocking but that does not detract for the amazing service we received

TrustpilotUseless, uncommunicative liars who are after your money.
There is a saying that "Buyers are Liars". Well trust me, our Estate Agents handling the sale of our property were without doubt the worst we have ever had in selling any of our previous properties proving that it isn't the buyers that are the liars but the Estate Agents themselves. I won't name individuals but as a company, William H. Brown of Ely were the worst for Communicating to us in the selling of our property. From the first contact where the then manageress came and visited us to suggest a selling price to the end result of us vacating the property was nothing short of disgusting. Considering they were going to be getting paid a couple of grand for selling our property for us, they did nothing. We did get the odd email and phone call trying to dazzle us with percentages and figures why our property wasn't selling but as I said to the individual calling me, stop making pathetic excuses and sell our property. When we first put our property up for sale at a price suggested by the management, one of the staff rang me and suggested that I should drop my price to get more interest! This was a week after we had it up for sale. I very politely told him no. They changed staff like I changed my grundies, every time we went in to the office someone else had left, hopefully to richer pastures. God help any new staff. All they will learn working in that office will be to lie, ignore your customers and spout BS because that's what we had from them, totally and utterly useless staff acting on our behalf.. The Manager who is in situ now was supposed to working on our behalf but was more focused on our buyers than us and even had the nerve to suggest that we moved into rented accommodation, with a wife, dog, cat and me, put all our possessions in to storage just so that our buyers could move in quickly. Quite disgusting behaviour from the "Manager". He even had the gall to tell us that our buyers wanted to move in on the following Monday and that they had their removals team delivering their possessions on the Tuesday. More lies. What a Pratt! We have now been moved out over a week and we have since found out that the buyers still haven't moved in, so what was all that pushing and prompting about putting us under enormous stress? It all points to him wanting the deal sealed so he could get his monthly bonus. Considering what our Solicitors, Hunt & Coombs did for us, the sheer amount of hard, intense work our Conveyancing Team did and the amount of fees they charged us was paltry compared to what we were charged. So to wrap up my review of William H. Brown, Estate Agents, Ely. We were very sorry we ever got involved with them. I would suggest using caution if you are unlucky enough to use them to sell your property because they don't care about you as a customer, just see you as a cash-cow. They will lie to you, ignore your calls and generally mess you about. I would suggest you use any of the other Estate Agents in Ely because to be honest, none of them could ever be as bad as William H. Brown.
