BEWARE STUDIO 52 BOOKERS!! If you're trying to rent in Studio 52, be aware that Nest are agents on behalf of The Highstreet Group. The Highstreet group literally kicked people out of Studio 52 with less than 24 hours notice because of some unspecified "major building works". Nest was still taking bookings for Studio 52 even when The Highstreet Group must have been aware of these building works needing to be done. It's still not certain whether Nest was informed about this or not. There is almost no communication from The Highstreet Group, who currently manage and own Studio 52. I talked to someone who hadn't even been given the bin code for the last two weeks before they were kicked out of the property. I was told two days before I was meant to move in by Nest that I wouldn't be able to because of these building works, and that's been the same for many, many other people. We have all been rehomed in OPTO Student Newcastle for now, but with no actual concrete date of when we can move into the place we wanted to in the first place. First it was a week, then it was the 18th September, now it's mid October. So now we'll likely all have to move in half-way through our university courses. Shockingly bad communication, which if it turns up, only turns up on Friday or Saturday evening, way past any time you can actually call someone to try and sort out the mess they put you in. OPTO Student have been amazing though, which is Nest's City Road apartments on the website. The location isn't great if you want to go to Newcastle Uni, and not ideal if you want a big kitchen, but the service is exceptional compared to what Nest's and The Highstreet Group's has been. EDIT: Now received a reply addressed to the wrong person. I assure you Nest, I am neither of the people you so carelessly addressed (Breach of data protection too? Thanks for another screenshot to add to the collection if I have to go to a small claims court.) For everyone's info, we now get weekly vague emails from The Highstreet Group, which still won't tell us what the building works even were. We are supposed to be moving in this weekend, which will be interesting considering the massive breakout in Coronavirus cases in the North East. And obviously, uni has now started again so this will be a fun upheaval to have during that. I can absolutely assure anyone reading this I was never, ever told there would be potential building works happening. I signed the contract only 3 weeks before this did happen as well. I was only told two days before I moved in that I couldn't, and that was only because I had to directly contact Nest to ask what on earth was even happening and who would be giving me my key. If I hadn't contacted them, I likely would have turned up on the day with the movers I paid for, and been turned away. I'm seriously happy for the few people who managed to get out of this contract, who knows if they'll pull this kind of rubbish again next year.NegativeResponsiveness

Nicola has been the biggest help at Nest. Two years in a row she has helped me find a perfect property. Not only that, Nicola has managed to negotiate with landlords in order to help me out in terms of start + end date flexibility and rental prices. I came back to her for my second year and knew she would be able to find a property perfect for my criteria. I can't praise her enough, she's been wonderful! I am not based in the UK and I found the process of renting a property here tad overwhelming. However, my case handler, Nicola was extremely patient and appreciative of my circumstance. She took me through the process in detail which made it very easy for me to understand the market procedure. She promptly responded to my queries within a short span of time irrespective of how trivial they were!. And, based on personal experience, I would say not a lot of agents do that. I would like to profusely thank Properties by Nest for helping me find a suitable property and especially Nicola whose patience and customer centric approach is worthy of emulation. Finally, for those in Newcastle who are on property hunting grind, I would definitely recommend Nest.

Just booked apartment with Property by NEST with Nicola. Nicola is very kind and helpful person. She arrange a home tour for a short period of time and walk me though the apartment facilities professionally and explain in detail about the apartment. Also, Nicola reply email questions rapidly. I found NEST team response email enquiry very fast. Few months ago I sent email to ask room availability and then Neil sent me a list of availability in the upcoming months. AWESOME!! Beside, their Tenancy agreement process is simple and efficiency. I would recommend people who would rent an apartment in Newcastle with Property by NEST.

I will start working at Newcastle so I need to move to the new place. After searching for many apartments I found the Nest was very attractive, the rooms are bright and the building has many facilities. Neil is very friendly, he sent me a list of all the available rooms so that I could choose the most suitable one. He provided me with all the details about how to rent a room. Very good company. They are professional and (mostly) reliable. Nicola was very quick to get me a viewing at the studio I was interested in. When it came to the tenancy agreement, there were a few hiccups, with a typo on the commencement date and parking was missing. However after a 30 second phone call these were quickly rectified. The studio is in amazing condition as well, just as advertised. I would highly recommend this company.

From the initial contact to securing the apartment, Nicola has been professional and responsive and extremely personable and trustworthy. She is the only person I would choose to deal with in the Jesmond/ Newcastle office as experience with another staff member was not so great. I booked a studio via Nest as I am starting a new role in Newcastle. I communicated with many agencies in the beginning and as soon as contacted Nest and spoke with Nicola, I was sure that I would book via Nest! Extremely helpful, friendly and kind! Always there to answer my questions via email or telephone! As I was not in Newcastle and the whole process was remotely, I was totally satisfied with her organised way. Very poor, Toby dealt with me moving into my first place, he was so helpful and was always quick in responding at first. I since then was messed around and was told that move in date would be a day later then it turned out to be 3 weeks later. I’m currently waiting back for a refund from the Landlord. Toby was very rude and cocky over text. He then said I would be refunded within a week I’ve waited 3 weeks now and he said that was a guess that it would be a week haha. Useless.

Excellent service, Neil was very helpful and with patience answered my multiple questions. The process was very quick. Would recommend to anyone. Edit. I signed another agreement for next year. Neil told me that there will be a storage option during summer, but it turned out that it is only avaiable sometimes (noone knows the rules), and I guess I wasn't the lucky one. I emailed him when coronavirus started, whether I can change the dates of my agreement. And he signed a new agreement with me, assured me that the room is avaiable and it is reserved for me (later the property confirmed that there isn't such booking in their system, and the room is already booked). During the whole proces is was really hard to contact with Neil, he didn't reply my emails (He replied when I gave him 1/5 here), when he "solved" my problem, the only think that insteresed him was to get 5/5 opinion. He was a bit rude during the whole proces, at the end I managed to book my accommodation directly from the property.

Had to find a place at short notice that accepts a short term tenancy with a possibility to extend, due to my ongoing visa application. While other agencies I contacted were not very helpful, Toby and Neil were very understanding, responsive, as well as being transparent, and managed to get me a room at Studio 52 sorted within 2 days! To top it all, I was offered a special rate for the room. I've moved in for almost a week now and can only say good things about my experience with them and the property itself.

Update in June 2021: I am returning customer, which says that I am happy with my previous experience. Although I do wish that Nest could offer a more flexible cancellation policy like in the previous year. Original review August 2030: Neil was very helpful and professional. He provided good suggestions and helped to tailor the contract according to my needs. Due to the extraordinary situation related to C19 and great uncertainty, there were some slight delays in reaction which was understandable from my point of view. All in all, a very pleasant experience at Property by Nest.

Throughout our experience with Nest, we dealt with Neil who was amazing from start to finish. Terrible company, reserved 5 properties to view for £1 each (terrible system why do I need to pay to reserve), received an email from NEIL and then completely unresponsive. As the director of a business you should at least have the courtesy to reply to an email with acknowledgement. Tried calling and it’s just an automated system. Wouldn’t recommend
