As a tenant at Union Studios for almost 2 years, I’ve found the apartment to be incredibly affordable while being conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the university, eliminating the need for daily commutes. The property manager, Sophie, and her team have been exceptionally helpful, always responding promptly to any queries or requests. I highly recommend Union Studios to anyone looking for a great place to live!

Highly recommended this company, absolutely fantastic customer service! They have gone out of their way to help us, and I genuinely believe they are people who care about their clients. I admit I was concerned about this company initially, as through no fault of ours, OR theirs, we were unable to move into the initial property we had through them. However from the very beginning they were nothing but helpful, reassuring and professional. Not only that, but in all of our contacts with them ( Eve in particular), they demonstrated empathy and support that went above and beyond what they needed to do. Unfortunately we have had a number of issues with the company Kingston, who were responsible for everything that we went through in regards to the property Rialto, and throughout this Eve has been outstanding in the support and help she has provided. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this company, as they are professional, completely on the ball, and treat their clients with respect, courtesy and understanding. And personally I can't thank Eve enough for everything she has done for us over this last difficult year.

Overall, I had a great experience living at Union Studios with Exchange Residential. I only had a short term contract but the moving in and moving out process was very smooth. Eve was very friendly, and generally if I had an issue, they would send someone to fix it. The only thing was my shower on-off switch never got fixed, but I didn’t really mind. The studio itself is quite peaceful, functional and well-located, which is all I needed. I’m getting my full deposit back as well, which was hassle free so I’m very pleased with that.

They kept me well informed at every stage, with clear communication and quick responses to any questions. Their attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent service really stood out. I would highly recommend Exchange Residential to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy property service. A truly five-star experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I found a property on their website and wanted to view it the same day so I went down in person and spoke to Rachel who was able to take me to the property on such short notice, Rachel was able answer all my questions and provided lots of information regarding the property. I loved the flat and wanted to take on the letting. The staff at Residential Exchange are exceptionally friendly and very easy to contact, I received quick responses via Email and the application process was very smooth.

Disgusting company. For any student looking into housing DO NOT consider exchange residential as they are appalling at dealing with customers, useless at keeping properties maintained and have the audacity to charge above the cost of the original deposit back in fees after we left the property in excellent condition! When we moved in there were three old mattresses left in the house that had been replaced and the old ones failed to be removed so we had to cart them into the yard for someone to pick them up. All of the damages to the property that we asked to be rectified ready for when we moved in, we are now being charged for - including all brand new mattresses only a year later and £300 for flooring that was wrecked when we moved in! The damp was so bad in the property that mould was all over the bathroom ceiling and on our walls which we were then asked to scrub off ourselves later in the year so they could attempt to sell the property on. We have constantly been told we are in arears with our payments which we were not, but are now charged £330 for. Our inventory for the house on damages and cleanliness was given to us to sign with a 7 day window when none of us were even in the property so had no way of knowing whether it was correct. I am now having to open a case with the DPS which is definitely not any extra stress I need but I am determined not to let this thieving company rob students in the way they seem to have done many times. I would like to agree with one of the previous reviews that Becki Pollard is extremely rude and difficult to deal with. Avoid this company at all costs.

My placement year at Exchange Residential has given me invaluable first-hand experience. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and will look back at my time with very fond memories. There was always a friendly and professional atmosphere in the Exchange Residential office and I always felt supported and guided by my colleagues. I am looking forward to returning for my final year at University with my new found skills and improved knowledge of the industry.

Bad, bad, and more bad.

Just went to view this place. Absolutely appalling. The rooms are ridiculously small, untidy- and stained. Holes in the walls. Extremely cramped, and I’m a 5’7 woman. I can imagine that I’d have to take photos before signing onto this place to prove the paint stains weren’t mine all over the super small show-room sofa… and it would probably still not stand and I’d loose a deposit. I’m not new to the Student Lettings Agencies, and granted, you won’t find anywhere that’s any different. But saying that, have your wits about you… £1020 a month is too much for a place pretending to look more expensive than it is- remember if you’re on the maximum student finance as a first-third year student, this property would be costing you almost your entire student loan so, that leaves you with less than £300 a month to live…For a room with holes in it, and two college washing machines for a place that has 5 floors with 30 rooms… save your money.Yours truly,Someone who dodged a bullet

I have had the experience of many years of renting, from an 18 year old student to a 40 year old moving between jobs for a short period. Without doubt Exchange Residential are the best I’ve dealt with. They are easy to communicate with and always readily available to answer any query. I couldn’t recommend them any more highly. And as for my landlord, although we’ve never met in person, it has been a blessing to be their tenant for the last six years. Everything from the boiler to the smoke alarm checked and serviced on time, every time. Any other issues sorted as soon as they are reported. No hassle whatsoever. Again, 5 stars

I do not recommend this company at all. We booked a viewing, my partner was waiting outside the house for 15 minutes after the viewing time before ringing the estate agents. He was informed that we had received an email saying the viewing wasn’t going ahead as the person showing us around was ill. Firstly, I did not receive any email regarding this. Secondly, if you cannot attend a viewing that you have confirmed, why would you not try and call rather than just send an email? My partner got time off work to attend the viewing, and it was such a waste of time. I called up later explaining that we were annoyed about this, and the lady on the phone took no accountability and just said she knew nothing about this. So glad we decided not to go with this company, the first impression was extremely bad and unorganised and you quite frankly, wasted our time.

Would really highly recommend Exchange Residential as a letting agency. The team at the office are helpful and friendly and Harry who we have been liaising with for getting our property and sorting issues has been quick and responsive. I'd also like to thank Maria, Eve and any other person there that I missed out! Would like to especially give them a shoutout for the time when I got the starting date wrong and organised the moving van for the wrong date too, but they all moved quickly together and were able to adjust the contract start date on the same day fortunately. I'm staying at Jesmond Echange, and deffo worth having a viewing if you can before deciding!PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

If I could rate them zero I would. AVOID AVOID AVOID I have been in occupation of an apartment at Hanover point for several months. The apartment was views and then I was misled about the sound proofing parking and exclusivity of the development. The managing agents have moved a family of 6 into the next door apartment 4 very young children the apartment is 2 bedrooms and the noise levels are extremely high I feel like I live with them. Along with other anti social behaviour issues in the block like all night parties and drug taking this agency fail to do anything about it despite the offenders been tenants of theirs. Of notable incompetence is Eve brown who doesn’t answer emails charges you to come and unlock your door that you left single locked then her and her staff double locked it on a visit. They really are a set of Del Boy cowboys. Incompetent, unprofessional and deliver failures in customer service at the highest possible level. AVOID AVOUD AVOID

Absolutely terrible from start to finish. On the first day of the tenancy the flat was in an appalling state, cleaners had to be sent back to reclean! There were also no beds, delivered only for us to have to put them together! Huge leak marks on the kitchen ceiling from the flat above took 2 months to paint over. Poor communication throughout as to when inspections were taking place and then didn’t happen on the date we were told they would. To put the icing on the cake, at the end of the tenancy we paid professionally cleaners to clean the property on our behalf as we simply didn’t have the time. We then had money deduced for not having a clean flat (very minor things such as a stray hair on a mattress) and for minor marks above the bed where we had our pillows propped up as no headboard provided. The customer service was the worst I have ever experienced rude- I think they all may be in need of some training on customer service! Avoid this company at all costs!!

My stay with exchange residential was traumatic, scaring and unforgettable. The staff were extremely rude, not helpful and insulting. Now as of July 2021 at the end of my stay im under the impression that a large bulk of new staff had been introduced and taken over 80% of the office. The experience with these current employees has been rather positive. Originally when I entered my apartment (Aug 2020)I was ensured it was going to be cleaned. However, it was not. Sick stains on the wall, wasps infestation, maggots, material eating moths, broken couches and chipped floors/fittings. When asked to replace, fix and handle these issues we were treated like 3rd class citizens and took 7 months into our stay for them to fix all the issues. Avoid this company.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
