I was interested and hoping to purchase a property on a new build development  near New Malden high street and contacted Barnard Marcus Estate Agent to help me with this. When I contacted the estate agent, I spoke to Ekin Ho and, from our first conversation it was evident that he had the best expertise and knowledge of the area and the new build development I was interested in. Throughout my property review process, Ekin Ho was incredibly supportive and always promptly responded to my calls and emails and kept me informed on the development. Ekin Ho had a personalized approach to my enquiries and went beyond and above to try to help me with the information relating to the new built development and arrange for me to obtain a necessary information on the property. Ekin Ho's professionalism was consistent and he was always reachable and provided reliable advice. Without any hesitation, I would highly recommend Ekin Ho to anyone who is interested in purchasing a property via Barnard Marcus. I never felt like a client to an estate agent, but more like dealing with a good friend who was there to help me and support me to purchase the property I had an eye on.

I had a very disappointing experience with this agency while trying to purchase a property. I was given contradictory information about the same property, at different times it was described to me as both a flat and a studio. This inconsistency made it difficult to understand what was actually being offered and raised concerns about transparency. There was also confusion around availability. When I first asked to view the property, I was told it had already been sold. The following day, I was contacted and told it was available to view after all, which was confusing and undermined my confidence in the information provided. What concerned me most was that the way the property was described seemed to change depending on the situation. For example, it was presented differently when discussing price comparisons with other units, which gave the impression that information was being framed to support pricing rather than provide clarity. When I raised these concerns, I was told directly that their role is to act in the seller’s interest and not me as a buyer. While I understand that estate agents represent sellers, I would still expect accurate, consistent, and transparent information to be provided to buyers. Overall, I would advise other buyers to be cautious, verify all details independently, and ensure everything is confirmed in writing

We had our placed valued and on the market with another agent. Barnard Marcus wrote to me to say they had a cash buyer specifically interested in our property. We varied our contract with another agent to allow for joint agency so we could contract with Barnard Marcus. After the contract was signed they ignored me for two weeks. There was no interested buyer. Fine, I fell for the oldest trick in the book, but as far as I'm concerned that's just dishonesty. They lied. Worse, they ignored us and had terrible customer service. Plus they got loads of details on the online listing wrong. I cancelled the contract during the cooling off period and I had to hassle them for several days (after the cancellation) to remove the listing. Unethical. Now, some brash bozo in their Southampton head office keeps badgering me on the phone. When I said I didn't have time to speak he rudely hung up. Needless to say, I don't recommend them.

Never use them to let your flat out they lie about tenants they are putting in

Used by my fellow homeowner & friend in our small block of flats . They lied to her told her a professional woman in her 40’s they had lined up to rent her flat . Absolute rubbish the woman that moved in very young here on family reunion visa no hate but they lied . There is now 3 adult men , that young woman & her new baby living up there in a tiny 1 bedroom flat . Noisy , other issues. I’ve complained to Bernard Marcus as a homeowner in same small block . TOTALLY IGNORED . Do not ever use them to manage your home as a rental - ever! Liars who do not care . They will know exactly the property I’m writing about in Chiswick . Near Gunnersbury station . Never bothered to address my complaint or concerns about the amount of people living in that flat with the so called ‘professional’ woman in her 40’s they said they had dealt with before & knew. Liars . The owner is trying to remove them - I hope she sues Bernard Marcus for their deceit and complete unprofessional behaviour . I will definitely back her up 100% .

I really do rate Barnard Marcus as an estate agency but their mortgage service offering is a joke. I took out a mortgage with them which is due to be renewed in March. They contacted me yesterday and when I returned their call they said they were too busy to advise me until February. A month away! They obviously prioritise new customers. I feel really let down and wish I’d stayed with my previous mortgage advisor who offers a reliable service.

I will always choose Barnard Marcus because of the professionalism and the good quality work of their employees, I was fortunate to have Tom Glynne attend to me. The experience from the beginning to the end was nothing but excellent. Less than two weeks before the completion of the original property I was to move to, the owner pulled out for a reason not mine nor the estate agent. It was a devastating news. Tom and his colleagues were so proactive and helpful and they got me the type of property I want and the move in date just a day after I would have moved into the original property. In the world of technology that is almost taking away human participation, I did not experience this with Barnard Marcus, infact they have super human, empathetic being, as employees. Thank you so much. I am extremely grateful.
