Really great experience from start to finish. Their fees were a bit higher than some of the other agents we looked at, but they valued our house at £20,000 more than anyone else- and it still sold in 4 days! They also suggested a property that wasn’t even on our radar, based on what they’d learned about us. It ended up being our dream home, and because we achieved more on our sale than expected, we were actually able to buy it. Communication was brilliant throughout. Victor or Kathryn were always available if we needed them, and on completion day they were absolute stars. Our seller’s solicitor was incredibly slow, but DC Lane were constantly chasing things up and keeping everything moving. They even looked after my partner and I in their offices while we waited, which was much appreciated after a very stressful morning. If you’re not sure which agent to use, I’d definitely recommend them. Victor and Kathryn were fantastic throughout. Thanks again! 😊

Well, where do I even begin describing our experience with DC Lane…?! Before we even put our house on the market, we tentatively began viewing other properties and this is where we met Helen…we knew straight away that this is the woman we wanted to sell our house!! Her passion, enthusiasm and professionalism were clear and we asked her to come and value our house the very next day. In less than a week, Helen had completed the valuation, organised the photos for the advert and put our house on the market and within 24 of it going live, she found us a buyer. We also decided to buy our new property through DC Lane as Helen was able to find us one straight away that had absolutely everything we were looking for. Buying and selling houses is never without its complications but Helen (and the whole team at DC Lane) could not have worked harder throughout the entire process. Communication was outstanding and when I say nothing was ever too much trouble, I really mean it. Helen and the team really do go above and beyond at every level. We have now completed our sale and purchase and are settled in our new home but should we ever find ourselves in the market again, we would not hesitate to use DC Lane. Highly recommend - there is no better agent in Plymouth!

We have been landlords in Plymouth for more than 30 years but its our time to get out of this market. I first dealt with Helen Somauroo from DC Lane last year 2024 when we put a Peverell house on the market. I liked her enthusiasm and she was the only agent of the three we contacted who actually pointed out that the house we were intending to sell was three double bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The house went live and we received two offers for the full asking price on the first day. Helen and her team were constantly on our case, in our corner, throughout the sale process, liaising with the two conveyancing teams involved with the sale. Needless to say the sale progressed smoothly all within ten weeks. We put a second Peverell house on the market in July 2025. It took ten days for an acceptable offer to be presented (Within 1% of their valuation) and ten weeks from offer to completion. Helen and her team have been right on the mark at every turn. I would have no hesitation recommending DC Lane. Over the past 55 years I have dealt with many many agents having bought and sold over thirty properties locally both personal and BTL.

I cannot recommend DC Lane highly enough. What should have been a straightforward sale and purchase turned into a long and often challenging process, with chain collapses, legal complications, delays and more than a few stressful moments along the way. Throughout it all, Helen was simply outstanding. Her enthusiasm, positivity and determination never wavered, even when things became difficult. At several points it felt as though the process might grind to a halt, but Helen’s perseverance and proactive approach kept everything moving forward. She was always chasing progress, keeping me updated, managing expectations and, most importantly, finding solutions rather than focusing on problems. What impressed me most was that Helen genuinely cared about getting the right outcome. She was always available to offer reassurance, advice and support when it was needed most, and her belief that we would eventually get there never faltered, even when mine occasionally did! We used DC Lane to sell our property and we also purchased a property with them. Firstly, we needed to get on the market fast to get the house we wanted, within days a photographer had been and taken the most beautiful pictures of our home. Viewings were great of both our house and the house we viewed with DC Lane. Once we were all in a position to offer in the chain, Helen did some amazing negotiations to make sure everything went through for everyone. During the sales chain, Helen did lots of chasing which was needed as the top of the chain was a flat and the management company needed a lot of pushing. We got things over the line and have now moved into our house. The whole team at DC Lane were always friendly and helpful, but Helen really is fantastic and was communicative all the way through! DC Lane provided us with an excellent service in selling our house. We found a property that we wanted to buy and so needed to get our house on the market quickly. Helen organised this within a couple of days with excellent photographs and marketing. Sadly we were badly let down by a time-waster but Helen went above and beyond to try and get them to act, even making calls on her days off and carrying out a number of visits. Not usually one to leave a review but very disappointed with DC Lane, Plymouth. Partner and I took time out of work to attend a viewing at a time proposed by them to fit in with their schedule, only for them to not show up. The property also appeared to be in considerably worse condition than was shown on the website. We received a call 30 minutes after the scheduled viewing time asking if we were running behind? (Presumably in the hope that we were also late, not that we had left). When explaining that we had just left because no one showed up they offered an apology and asked if we would reschedule. Definitely not the award winning services claimed nor do I think its a good idea to follow up a no-show with a feedback form asking how our viewing went.

Attention potential tenants! Do not ever rent anything from Dc Lane plymouth Dance Collier and his staff have no respect for tenants only doing the landlord interest The apartment was delivered at the beginning filthy and with plenty of structural faults The faults were causing leaking on other apartments The heating in the bathrooms was not working it took me months to have it fixed as the landlord would ignore the problem and Dc lane would not do anything to send over a plumber for months I also had a mice invasion in the autumn time and I had to hire my own pest control because the landlord would refuse to pay for it amd Dc lane didn't intervene I had constant visitations in my apartment from Dan collier his staff and landlord entering the apartment when I was not there because the neighbours were reporting water leaks and they were blindly chasing the origin of it Absolutely the worst agency and tenancy I ever had in my life
