If you're looking for a mortgage advisor, look no further than Neil Walton at the Gosforth Rook Matthews Sayers branch! He is absolutely fantastic in all areas of the job, from advice about anything and everything (which was perfect for me as a first time buyer!) to chasing solicitors. Neil is great at answering the phone and emails - you're never left waiting ages for responses. I've never not had a call returned or email responded to by him. On top of his exceptional service, he is the nicest guy you can ever meet and no task is too big or too small for him. Once the offer was in, issues with information not being shared throughout the chain however on the final 4 weeks before exchange the girls, Victoria and Emma were incredible!! GoogleSadly we cannot reccomend this estate agent. We sold our house with the Alnwick branch who were excellent but trying to buy a property with the Morpeth branch was a different story. I understand their contract is with the seller but to keep the buyer informed and reassured I would of thought would assist with a smooth sale.
Unfortunately the ' sales progressor' in this instance appeared to have little initiative to drive the sale , or knowledge re land registry processes or able to communicate effectively . At no point in waiting 10 months to purchase a house did we recieve an update that was 'new' information and we have had great experience in the past with RMS with a purchase.
Sadly we had to withdraw from the purchase after a very long wait experiencing homelessness along the way and no endpoint in sight .
Extremely dissappointed.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience with our Morpeth branch didn’t meet your expectations. Our team takes great pride in being recognised for their communication and dedication to supporting both buyers and sellers throughout the process.
It’s important to clarify that matters involving the Land Registry or title issues must be handled by the solicitors acting for each party, this is out of our control. In this particular case, the sale was unfortunately delayed due to a complex Land Registry issue relating to unregistered parcels of land, which required an adverse possession application by the seller’s solicitor. Unfortunately, progress was further hindered by delays on the vendor’s solicitor’s side, a situation that was entirely outside of our control.
As estate agents, we act as a liaison between solicitors and both sellers and buyers, passing on information as soon as it is provided to us. We offer the same high standard of communication and support to all parties involved, and our sales progressor maintained regular contact throughout, providing updates whenever new information became available.
We fully appreciate how stressful lengthy transactions can be and regret that this situation caused you such frustration. We do wish you all the best for the future and are sorry that this experience did not reflect the high standards we aim to deliver.

Used Rook Matthews Sayer for a re-mortgage as a returning customer. Rook Matthews were quick to contact us approximately 6 months ago to remind us that our existing mortgage was due to expire, a service we had not received previously from a different mortgage service which had resulted in us transferring to a standard interest rate and costing us more. The Track My Case option was handy to track progress. Alistair Bowman was our advisor a few years ago and recently. He has been so helpful, identifying the best time to search for a mortgage deal, providing regular updates and an alternative contact if he was unavailable and once a provisional deal was agreed, Alistair continued to check the market to ensure we had the most appropriate deal as interest rates continued to change. He has been honest in his advice, confirming that as we are close to paying off our mortgage, this would be the last time we would require a broker as the range of options in future years would be limited. I would have no hesitation in continuing to use Rooks Matthews and especially Alistair and would recommend them to anyone.
