Constantly spamming me with false information and harassing me despite asking several times to stop. I’ve blocked the number as they ignored my request but now they constantly send spam letters to my door. Would never use if the last estate agent standing. I have also heard from a friend who used them that they lied about having viewings as was caught out in the action but couldn’t care less. Terrible customer service. Absolutely awful!

I had the most horrible experience with this agency from The agency from Bilstol West Midlands. Had the credit checks with 1 month before the date of the contract, but waited with 2 days before to tell me a story that the landlord is not UK and they can't rent the property. They left me on the street and I need to wait to be refunded for the feed that I have payed.Sophia Mitchell MARLA the manager started to scream at us!!! Horrible experience, horrible people!!!!DO NOT TRUST!!!!!!

TrustpilotUntrustworthy and cancelled my agreement 2 days before move leaving me homeless.
I was pushed / harassed to put a deposit down for a property to rent. I paid the deposit on the conditions that the fridge would be moved from the living room. This was agreed by the agent Rick. 2 days before moving into the property, the contract was not sent to me. I thought this was very strange. I had handed my notice into my current property already. I called the agency they said we are not proceeding with the agreement as the landlord as rejected to rent to you. This was very infuriating as the reference was all complete and good to go.Now Rick has decided to keep my deposit, due to no fault of my own. I will be seeking legal action if the deposit is not returned.

TrustpilotAvoid if at all possible.
Dreadful communication. Slow to take action. We feel we were tricked into taking out an expensive survey on a property we subsequently didn't buy (they accepted our offer when they shouldn't have and we felt under pressure to proceed). The day after I let them know out of courtesy (despite their lack of communication) that we had had our offer accepted on a different property (through another agent) they contacted our solicitors to tell them we were buying the property we had viewed through them! When I corrected our solicitor, he said he was having problems with them in relation to another case too.

Trustpilotwhy estate agents get a bad name
Only got one star as I could not give a negative. Dealt with TROWBRIDGE branch. They got rid of there last manager due to errors (branch told me this) yet they are not willing to sort his mistakes he was why estate agents get a bad name charged £7200 Fees on a £335000 purchase even though This was based on a £375000 asking price. Not willing to negotiate even though branch said fee would have been around 4000. Spoken with directors none willing to listen. I take the blame as should have probed further and asked for it all in writing. Suppose they are laughing as my choice is pay or pull out of sale

GoogleElliot & Alex have been very helpful in our decision making process from the viewing stage to finally the acceptance to move into a new property. At a point, me & my partner were confused about our decision, they support by presenting options and factual scenarios of the situation we faced. This has helped us make a decision we are really happy about.
Thank you for the professional service Elliot & Alex.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

TrustpilotDISGUSTING PLACE TO WORK!!!
I worked here for 6 months, worst decision of my life. Firstly the pay is nowhere near what they promise at the interview! No bonuses, never pay commission correctly, no rewards for hard work, only slate you when you make a mistake. No customer care whatsoever, all everyone cared about was leaving early. I was obviously on probation for the first 6 months, I was at a local branch, then the area manager threatened me that if I didn’t permanently move to a branch that was AN HOUR AWAY, he will need to “have a look at where I stand since I’m still on probation”. So I had to move branches in order to keep my job! When I left, they sent me threatening letters saying I owe them £600+!!! Disgusting company to work for. AVOID FOR YOUR OWN SAKE!

TrustpilotFIRST TIME BUYERS READ THIS!
FIRST TIME BUYERS READ THIS!If you want to go with your own mortgage adviser or bank, avoid them like the plague. They will make it awfully hard for you to even put your bid forward. If you want to go with their mortgage advisers however, go ahead. Story:We saw a property and placed a bid down on Monday morning. Had a call later on that day from the branch manager (Yeovil branch) and they were very pushy for us to see their mortgafe advisor. I explained that we had already seen one and we were happy with what we got, but they kept going on and on pushing for a meeting. I had to say no to them 8 times within the same call. After I was firm with them that no means no, they eventually got the memo. However their tone changed almsost immediately and said that they would put our bid through and let us know. After 2 days we still hadn't heard regarding our bid and was chasing them up but was getting no response. After 4 days I raised a complaint with their head office and within 2 hours I had a call from the branch manager stating that they were disappointed of what we've done, completely dismissing that it had been 4 days without any feedback. Unprofessional, rude and if you do not use their services, they will dismiss you! So avoid them at all costs unless you want to use their mortgage advisors/solicitors like I said above. At the end we pulled our bid and went with another property and estate egent. We placed a bid and we heard back within a couple of hours and the deal was done in half a days work.

TrustpilotVery poor lettings team in bmth dorset
Very poor lettings team in bmth dorset. They advertise a property to rent, when i enquire about arranging a viewing are told we cant as viewings are fully booked. Ok, fine. I know the property and am happy to proceed to the application stage and let the landlord decide if im suitable. No you cant put in an application without a viewing?!?!?! They then ask for your details to bombard you with everything they cant sell.

TrustpilotAvoid Avoid Avoid
Avoid Avoid Avoid. (Welwyn Garden City Branch )Total waste of the last 5 months. False promises, poor communication, poor pictures, no floor plan the list goes on.Took them 3 attempts to get the brochure correct with spelling mistakes and the photos are of shocking quality. Make no attempt to rectify things and just give excuses of under staffed and no general manager. Every time I complain they mysterious book a viewing but surprise surprise gets cancelled at the last minute over a email.Gave my 28 notice cancellation period which can’t come quick enough. Had 2 viewings booked after another complaint to head office the weekend just gone and someone actually called this time 8 minutes before the first viewing took place to say both had cancelled which I don’t believe. Please don’t waste your time and energy with them as their are plenty of well established estate agents who will take care of their clients. Even the solicitors they recommend have poor communication with with poor responses if any.

Stratford Upon Avon Branch. After a family bereavement, they were uncompassionate, rude and unhelpful. Communication was poor and no continuity, so every time you call someone else tells you something different to the last person. Shocking customer service. Would never recommend.

TrustpilotLiving up to a poor reputation.
I'm an unchained buyer who refused to pay £700 to use their in-house mortgage advisor (when I already had my own and a DIP from a reputable lender) before getting an offer accepted. As a result, being up against another buyer who had made an offer for the same amount, they supposedly had the advantage over me, or so I was told.Understandable perhaps, but what irked me was then not bothering to tell me that my offer was rejected, despite hanging me on for the best part of a month due to some complications with the vendor and my regular requests for updates. My advice would be to AVOID. There are better agencies out there.

TrustpilotHouse valuation
Gentleman came round to value our property so we can release funds for an extension. Had it valued at 430’000 also zoopla valued between 399’00 to 440’000. He went away abs filled the report and valued at 385’000 which must be a figure he popped out of his head. He has caused us lots of issues and we are now appealing the process. Never touch them with a barge pole.

GoogleAlex and Beth, were both amazing.
With what was a really quick transition. With me having a difficult time with my previous landlord who was being uncooperative and not helping. I was very worried and was unsure of where i would be living. I found a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment on rightmove, that was a perfect fit for me and my son. They was supportive and helpful the whole way through. They are a brilliant team and a happy bunch. I'm very happy with the service i have received and the service I'm continuing to receive.

GoogleFrom the first appointment, which was the viewing of the property, we've been assisted by James. During the whole process, he's been very efficient replying to my emails and phone calls trying to find solutions for my concerns. On the day of the move, we arrived quite late at the house (after the closing time of the letting agency) but he's been very kind and met us at the property to give us the keys. I really appreciate that.
They also had to speed up the redecorating process of the house for us, as we didn't have much time left in our old house.
Thanks Brown and Merry

GoogleI have been so incredibly impressed by both Alex and Beth who have been so brilliant through the whole lettings process. Not only were they able to listen to and remember the needs of my family but they went above and beyond to find the right rental property for us and treated us like first class tenants! Their ability to communicate and diligence for both parties involved was so impressive and I can honestly say after 14 years of renting I have never experienced such quality service, they are a credit to Brown & Merry.

TrustpilotUnwilling to give your deposit back.
Awful service for tenants. First, they try their best, along with a landlord, to deduct as much money form it as possible. Then delay paying it back altogether. They might be good for landlords though. I tried to reach them and asked for my money back a couple of time, but Laura Marshall and Gemma Gerrard are absolutely useless.

TrustpilotConnels estate agents are a disgrace
Worst estate agent i have had the misfortune of purchasing a property with, my advice to buyers and vendors steer clear. From the very start they mislead me, i was assured from the start that completion of sale would be in 6 to 8 weeks if i used their conveyancing service along with the vendor. (cash buyer no searchers required) it is now going into the 15th week with no sign of an end to this fiasco. The branch manager is rude to say least does not reply to requests for information and has a no care attitude to customers welfare, the senior salesmen is the image of the manager. In the last few days i have asked 4 times for updates from the branch and conveyancing team .... still waiting for them to get off their backside and do anything to help me . THEY ARE A JOKEPlease note the minimum star you can give is one when you place a review

TrustpilotWorst estate agent I have experienced!
Rented a property through this agent, we were pressured to sign a contract before new laws about renting came into effect. We took the flat based on the verbal agreement that work would be done before we moved in, they them turned around and refused to carry out the work after contracts were signed and we were forced to carry out the work at our own expense. This agency does not care about the renter's they only care about landlords from what we have experienced. Emails are ignored and they show no interest in getting issues solved. I would never rent from this agent again and would advise you avoid at all costs!
