Lol please don’t waste your money

Lol, Robertson homes answer every positive comment but ignore every negative one, just about sums them up!! Their homes are a disgrace much like their customer care. I have giving them 5 stars to see if they reply to my comment, as my last 3 they got removed as they were too negative 😂. Their is no way in my opinion that all the 5 star ratings are genuine

Recently made a reservation at…Lionfields,Lambton Park

Recently made a reservation at Lionfields, Lambton Park, County Durham. Maxine and others at the sales office have been very honest, professional and great at sharing information. To date, nothing has been an issue and houses are selling fast, very desirable place to live. House types are stunning, and many aspects included in the sale which offer added luxury.

Do not buy from Robertsons under any circumstances

We bought this house because of the floor plan, the pre-build 'garden room' extension, the promise of minimal snags and need to deal with. - We were lied to on the point of sale about features and functions of the white goods.- The morning after we exchanged contracts committing to purchase, a Saturday morning, they conveniently informed us that they'd used the wrong brick and would need to rebuild the external skin from scratch, incurring significant delays. We should have noticed the warning. - We were miss-sold upgrades: different products on order sheets, different items installed, significant attempts to convince us the installed items were the correct ones, even though they were inadequately installed. Can you imagine a hob falling through a worktop because it was held by friction in place, not by being seated in line with the manufacturer's recommendations? They tried to convince us this was fine! They even installed the hob against manufacturer's recommendations with inadequate ventilation and tried to convince us this was fine.- The house was not cleaned when we moved in to conceal all sorts of atrocious damage and poor finish; from severely scuffed plastics throughout (still not replaced two years on), to cracked glass panes, to damaged/poorly installed kitchen worktops, to gouged shower trays, to cracked tilework with no grouting, or grouting falling off, or sealant in the showers/bathrooms. - On moving in the garage door would not shut/lock. Nobody could bother fixing it for a day. The house intrusion alarm was not working either- and didn't get sorted for weeks. - The CO alarm in the garage was never installed. Instead, a standard fire alarm was there. We queried this, and they told us it was a CO alarm. When we had an (inevitable?) leak from the heating system that shorted the garage fire alarm, the electrician stated this was the wrong alarm and installed the correct one. - There were no post sale meetings as per promise upon completion. We didn't even get our meter readings when moving in. - Half the heating system was left stuck on, to make the house warm (27oC peak temperature) to make it look like its well insulated. Queue a £500 energy bill for our first 3 months as a "welcome gift"- and that was before the gas prices soared.- Speaking of energy bills; the house is a wind tunnel because of drafts from window frames, front doors, door frames, bowed internal doors. - Our patio door frame was missing a 3 inch chunk of plastic that had been broken out during installation. Conveniently concealed with plastic trim, it nonetheless let wind through. Discovered when they remove the trim to fix severely bowing headers. Oops. - Have you ever experienced draughts from the window frame to the reveal or from the skirting board to a ground floor external wall? Buy a Robertson Home! We were promised they will rectify this, in writing, 13 months ago. - When fixing the poorly installed downlighters, insulation from the garden room roof escaped into the room and lounge, and the workmen didn't properly contain and clean it up. Both myself and our toddler had substantial skin reactions to it. - We had no running cold water in the kitchen for NINE MONTHS because they took their time to replace the upgraded tap with a properly working one. - Have you ever had 400 ml of water come through permanently shut double glazing when it rains? Buy a Robertson Home! Your front door will leak water (and lots of wind too), your windows will leak water too. - We were left to live in a house, a quarter of which was rendered unusable because of sewage fumes, because they didn't install soil venting piping appropriately. - They literally left a toilet bowl on our landing for weeks, with the sewage pipe exposed for us to breathe fumes from.- They tried to convince us that the garage floor is meant to be pitted, and when we protested, they tried to fix it. They failed, FIVE TIMES, which included an attempt to convince us that the flooring compound coming off like mud when being washed was because the garage floor, apparently, is not meant to be washed. - Our rear garden had "been cleared of detritus to make it safe for our toddler". There were 3 inch nails sticking out of fencing, there were torn, sharp pieces of metal sticking out of the ground, nails, broken tiles, broken glass, broken pipework. It took us days of clearing it before it was safe to use. - They constantly delete snags/mark as actioned- without doing ANYTHING. Thank you for reading this far. If you are tutting and "oh my God"ing away, consider this: we had near 400 snags in our house. Two years later, we are still get promises of things to be done, but nothing has been actually fixed in the last 4 months. Our health is impacted, our family life is impacted, our work is damaged. Dont buy Robertson Homes

Scott, the site manager also took an hour out of his busy day to reassure me about the quality of his houses and to show me around one that had just been finished. Robertson homes (Allans Furniture)

This is not a review of Robertson Homes per say but I feel that have to warn people of my experience with a company that they recommend to potential customers so that it may save them any issues in the future. If you do purchase a Robertsons Home, as I have done, and they recommend Allans Furniture to floor your home please, please stay away from them and find your own flooring company, for my reasons please read my review on Allans Furniture on Trustpilot, they are a company that has done nothing but given me grief and lied to me from day 1, as i have said before Robertson Homes are aware of my issues but I believe they are still recommending them to customers so please be warned, now having to go through having to employ another flooring company at my cost to complete and having to take Allans to small claims court, grief I don't need......

Unbelievable

We have been waiting almost 5 years for outstanding issues to be completed and still ongoing. PThe last 12 months have been a waste of time due to sub contractor groundworker incompetence and lies. After responding to Robertson made up stories, there has been no reply from the MD, D. Stott, or customer care. It is a pity the customer can not be supported as much as their sub contractors.

Premium house, budget quality build

While the homes themselves look attractive, our experience with Robertson Homes has been disappointing due to the number of issues we’ve encountered in a relatively short period of ownership.

People in dargavel need to relax

People in dargavel need to relax, the school is delayed by 6 weeks just like some people homes and I don't see protests getting held about this. Most schools are letting the kids attend until the school is built.Dargavel is a beautiful village but many people are vile who live here. Wanting to hold protests so council houses don't get built and now due to the school being delayed, we all just probably faced toughest year of our lives, lost homes, jobs, people we care about. Let's just take a step back and try work together on what we can do, rather than these silly protests when outcome won't be any different.

A service that promises the world and…

UPDATE: That’s another 6 weeks being ignored by customer care…. Not a single reply or contact.UPDATE: Had the response below asking me to email my details including house plot and site... 5 weeks on from this and still nothing, not even a response to say the email was received after chasing again. Also still being ignored by customer service and senior management.A service that promises the world and delivers very little. Sales staff excellent, but once you are in and paid they don’t care about customer experience or the state of snagging. A year in and the experience has been a joke.

From the minute I contacted the team (Dan and Sarah) at Torvean I felt looked after like a valued customer. From viewing a property to concluding just over six weeks later I was kept fully informed of the process, I knew what was required of me and the whole process ran smoothly.

Wynyard Estate

The agent at Robertsons Homes on the Wynyard Estate has handled all of our questions in a very professional manner. He has been considerate in dealing with our situation when our initial sale fell through and gave clear guidance as to how long our reserved plot would be held for.Additional items that we would want to be fitted were not available due to the build progress, however, I understand that they can be purchased at a later dater fitting - this is a shame as it would have been easier for the workmen to instal items when they are still working on the property. We have yet to move into our home to rate the quality, but so far we consider the build and fittings to be of a good quality. We are very much looking forward to moving in to our new home. However once they sell you the house they could not be bothered at all.

Top builder for new homes

We bought our first property in Scotland, after moving from England, through Robertson homes and what a great experience it has been. Three things stand out: location, build quality and customer service. The initial purchase process though Diane at the Thorn View site was detailed and clear. Diane had excellent attention to detail and communication skills. After handover, all snagging issues were rectified in a timely manner and with care. We had also agreed a minor alteration to the garden which was slightly off the plan we were initially shown and Robertson homes were prompt at dealing with this. Stewart (site manager) has been exceptional and is my favourite person to invite over for a cup of tea and chat about things. Overall we knew we were spending a lot of money purchasing the property in a prime location but we feel Robertson homes has made it all worth it. I would recommend them highly.

Avoid! Disgraceful quality and customer care

We strongly caution against buying a Robertson Home. We completed about 12 months ago and still have an entire kitchen to be replaced with no end in sight. Absolutely everything (big and small) has to be proactively chased by home owners and the customer care team - including those who manage this team - are incompetent and are letting the business down badly. Based on our observations over the last 12 months, our assessment is that: 1. Site management failed to instruct contractors and suppliers to rectify defects that were obvious prior to the completion date (minor snags are accepted, however pages and pages of issues are not). 2. Robertson are at the mercy of its contractors and suppliers who act as though the tail wags the dog when booking jobs. This is made worse by the fact that Robertson "step out" of the communication loop once they have handed the snag to the contractor or supplier despite our contract to purchase the house being with Robertson and not contractor or supplier.Robertsons' kitchen supplier - Ashley Ann - have been particularly disgraceful. Over the past 12 months, they have removed almost every door in our kitchen in order to replace these with the correct colour and remove deep scratches. On each occasion, they have returned to our house with the wrong style, size and/or wrong colour. As the doors apparently take 12 weeks to manufacture (hand paint), the delays to rectify these issues are huge and still ongoing. To make matters worse, Ashley Ann's level of communication is on par with Robertsons' and they don't bother to confirm whenever there has been a production issue or some other delay. They have no shame in telling you an approximate delivery date and then exceeding this by over a month without any prior warning or explanation. Despite complaining of this to Robertson, they have failed to make any impact with their supplier to improve performance and expedite the remedial work.3. The customer care team for Scotland West are not technically qualified. They are booking work with contractors but do not know how to sequence or plan remedial works that require more than one trade. This results in wasted time whenever, for example, a trade attends when he is not yet needed or he does not appear when is.My husband and I have over 45 years' combined experience in the construction sector (both residential and major commercial projects) and have purchased new build homes in the past. Our experience with Robertson as a residential house builder is, by far, the worst in terms of quality and after care - the latter being non-existent.UPDATE: Robertson and Ashley Ann have still to complete our snag list (23 Jan 2023). The 2 year snag period will lapse in April 2023. When sending emails, the auto reply says they aim to reply within 48 hours. In reality, several weeks pass each time. Utter rubbish! Buyer beware.

Calderwood disappointment

A week has last since my last post and despite visiting the marketing suite for help, chasing customer care, making contact through instagram, chasing Ashley Ann & Carpetronic (supplier used) leaving messages and emails I have zero response back from anybody at the business (MD, CEO, head of customer care)….. says it all. We have 100 plus items of snagging all identified by a professional snagger. A carpet that is so poorly fitted and pulling up around the edges that it’s embarrassing to have guests come round. Windows that are scratched beyond repairThe list goes on. This is what you get when purchasing a Robertson Home and staff that treat you with utter disgraced. Well done for providing a 5 star service.

Avoid!

After chasing Robertson Homes many times during my two year moving period, they have still not corrected our snag list. Time after time, we have been palmed off saying that their contractors would be in touch, months later and we still haven't heard a thing. These are by no means, small snags, this is anything from a hole in the roof, to a floor beam coming through the staircase wall! From a company that wishes to be a five star company, I would expect a lot more and not to be passed from pillar to post or simply just left.EDIT: Thank you for your reply. Sadly, we have emailed this address before back in October and no reply was received, which we find rude and unacceptable. However, we shall try one more time then seek further action if this is not resolved. All of our snags were reported within our 2 year settling period, yet we have lived here nearly 3 years. We know snags are part and parcel of a new build but it's extremely frustrating it has taken us to post publicly to receive a reply from Robertson's.

St Margaret’s - Fantastic Experience

This is our 2nd time purchasing from Robertson Homes, and we have not been disappointed. Few hiccups on the 1st purchase post key day, however the difference at the St Margaret development is night & day. Hayley (Sales) & Ross/Fraser from site have been fantastic, nothing is touch much trouble for them and they are always so helpful. Just a huge thank you for all your help along the way and hope you got the recognition you deserve!! We have only been the property 8/9 weeks and the most of the snags have been addressed with the remaining being addressed next week which is amazing that the whole team are committed and great to deal.Product itself is still just as good if not better than out previous property, with small updates to layout etc really make a difference.

Robertson Calderwood - Aftersales Nightmare

We held off writing a review as we know buying a new build there comes with issues & snags and wanted to give a fair representation of the overall experience. The sales experience was fantastic and could not fault it at all, however the level of aftercare from Robertson is awful!!! The recent reviews on Trustpilot should not go unnoticed. We still have issues from the 7-day visit outstanding and have had no comms on how they will be address or when. Any new snags we have raised with customer care have yet to be acknowledged never mind actioned. When we have had a trade round to resolve, there is no follow up from site to verify the work was completed to a decent standard. We raised concerns about the decorative finish of our house and when the site manager came round, the response was that “We won’t be redecorating your house. It’s a painters finish not a decorative finish that you get in a new build”.Every window in the house is badly scratched. We have had someone round to attempt to resolve it over three visits but in some cases the windows are now in worse condition (smeared where the polish machine was used with scratches still visible). Robertson indicated that the glass might be "too soft" but again we have had no follow up. We know we are not alone on this site as others have indicated to us the same issue. The wool carpet we purchased through them had stains and was badly fitted (cut too short). A cleaning company attempted to remove the stains but it has made things worse as the carpet has now lost its texture and appearance due to the way that it was cleaned (wool carpet). Again, no mention of when this will resolved. Contract manager was around to visit the property at the beginning of November to listen to our concerns but we have had to continually chase for an update which we’ve yet to receive. We have emailed & phoned the head of customer care to ask for some help to try and get things moving but all we have had so far was a phone call yesterday (a month later) indicating that they would chase but that they were not aware of the situation. This is despite our repeated emails so we will see if anything is actually done.Robertson do not seem to care. They market premium homes with a luxury finish, but our experience is that it is a battle to get your home to the standard they market! This is such a shame because the product they offer really is fantastic but falls short and I think if they just listened to customers and were transparent with how they are managing any snags it would make a massive difference rather than the chaos we are having to put up with. We never went through any of this with Barratt with our previous new build and that was at the start of the first lockdown!Update: 21/12/2022 - Carpets have finally been resolved, however small issues with Amtico remain. Nobody from Robertson checked in to ensure that the work was complete. All other items have been left unresolved. Have chased the MD last night as still no plan in place on how things will improve. Head of customer care is totally disinterested and I’m left to chase for updates. Also had a leak in the garage last week from outside tap due to cold temps, although the leak has been isolated there has been no further comms on this! Another example of Robertson Homes at their very best.

I would rate my experience zero if I…

UPDATE I think you need to check as we were within warranty! Here we go with the gaslighting again form Robertsons UPDATE this was reported in warranty period, robertson’s response below is wrong. Robertosns Please can you review internally? We were told we had damaged the window ourselves, thanks I would rate my experience zero if I could. Our window spontaneously shattered, within two years, contacted Robertson’s who proceeds to blame us, whilst refusing to send anyone to inspect it. Left with a broken front window, in the cold and not secure with two small kids.Feel completely gaslighted and blamed, no access to our warranty and refusing to send a specialist to asses the window. Shocking customer service all round. Also have outstanding snags promised to be fixed, but no one turns up.
