Excellent Service

Excellent service provided by Tony who conducted the single survey required for marketing my Mum’s flat. He was friendly, efficient and prompt in providing the Home Report (that is a legal requirement of selling a property in Scotland) within 2 days of his visit to the property. The fees for this service from DM Hall Surveyors were fair, competitive and to my mind, value for money given the service received.

Not impressed.

Home report was inaccurate. Stated that flooring couldn't be inspected, there was no furniture in 3 rooms and minimal furniture in living room, stated house was furnished and occupied which was not the case. When this inaccuracy was highlighted this was then changed and returned with the question where does it say the property is furnished? Wall cupboards not assessed as items stored restricted view they said but nothing stored in one cupboard and little in other. There is a driveway but stated "on street parking" with no mention of driveway and apparently having a driveway and garage doesn't add value to property so surveyor said. Paid good money as anyone knows and felt that this home report was very poor, grading was questionable, spent approx 15 mins assessing. Wouldn't recommend.

Not impressed

I was unable to view the home report between July and September. I asked for assistance but was told to activate my account. You are using my work email and not my personal email. I do not want to have to activate an account with yet another password to view documents that I am paying for. I wanted clear instructions and an email. Also I understand that photographs were taken - there are no pictures on the home report.

Swift, Efficient and Friendly

I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency of D M Hall in carrying out the survey and drafting up the Home Report. When I initially phoned, an appointment was made for the next day. The day after the visit I received their draft report for approval. Kirsten was friendly and very helpful. She gave me sound advice, answered any queries I had and clearly explained the process.

honest and competitive though wordy.

I felt they were honest and willing to listen to our estate agents views also. An essential. Pricing was competitive, gladly , with a mind to our being customers many times before. Language is very guarded and 'wordy' with regards limitations on survey despite all aspects of the home being very open to view. This could be off-putting to buyers not knowing market processes. A significant change to to the previous survey on this property only two years past.

The office manager, Pam Dick was patient, polite and highly efficient.The surveyor, Andrew Milne was helpful, comprehensive in his inspection, and beyond the work of preparing a Home Report, an enormous pleasure to converse with.Beforehand we were apprehensive about the experience, especially as some of the interior decoration was tired and selling property is very stressful. Andrew was tactful, diplomatic and reassuring and fully explained the process. He fully answered all our questions. A true professional.Both Pam Dick and Andrew Milne provided an excellent service and I would highly recommend DM Hall to everyone.

Brilliant Firm

Could I just say how wonderful the team from DM Hall are, especially Graham Wilson, who came out to the property to do the Home Report. The surveyors arrived at our property exactly at the agreed day and time. They worked diligently in and around our property when carrying out the survey. Questions were asked politely. A report was generated and sent out to us for approval in a timeous manner. The report was accurate a did not need changing before signing off.

Roddy from DM Hall arrived on time and carried out his assessment very efficiently. There was minimal disruption caused and he even brought his own ladder to check the loft space. Due to the quiet time of year, we had our home report issued the next day. Great service, would highly recommend.

Had a home report done by Mr Churm and a colleague in Dumfries. He was very professional, courteous and arrived right on time. The survey took around an hour. I was in agreement with all aspects of the home report. It was a very fair assessment of my home and outbuilding. Assessment was based on my home and not just other sales in surrounding area, which is always a worry when having valuation, as most were sold in need of modernisation/renovation in recent years. It's always a bit unsettling having strangers assess your home, but Mr Churm and his colleague had a contagious calmness about them that made it much less so. A very positive experience and I would definitely use this company again

Not Accurate Enough

The Home Report was pushed through as urgent however the surveyor did not remember half of what he had seen and I had to provide the info again. Things like reports on woodworm treatment. I even ended up cutting holes in the plasterboard in 3 seperate crawl spaces to prove the room in the roof was insulated. They seem to have to many jobs to do the job correct first time.

Professional and helpful surveyor

Colin from DM Hall came exactly when he said he would to survey our property complete a home report. He was polite and professional. He produced a home report that was a true reflection of our property. The report itself was detailed and thorough. Colin was able to answer all my questions and explain to me the different levels of grading for various elements of the report. I found this very helpful. I know a few people who have had Colin survey their property - and I understand now why he came so highly recommended. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone else needing a home report or valuation of their property in the future.

DM Hall Valuation Survey. …

The surveyor Michael was extremely polite and considerate whilst carrying out our valuation survey. And on contacting him after receiving the report, he answered out queries very clearly. I opted to give 4 stars instead of 5 as a result of one member of the administration staff who was inclined to speak over you and not really listen to what you were trying to say. This happened over 2 telephone conversations.

If I could rate this 0 star I would

If I could rate this 0 star I would. They again have undervalued our property for the 2nd time. They have ripped us of our money for valuation from here. Don't spend your money here as it will go to waste. Surveyor is not professional she doesn't know how to greet clients. She spent less than 10 minutes in our property and no measurements were taking. Stay away and avoidFirst surveryor did our valuation back in 2019 and then it didn't sell so had to get a replacement done in 2020 and then they cut rip us off.Now surveyor cut us off even more.Worst place ever
