It is when you move out you will know…

It is when you move out you will know they don't give a shit about you, they treat you like you don't matter ,I doubt if people's mental health means anything to them, they even over charge you and not even give a breakdown why that amount was deducted.

Lived at rede house for 2 years now, spacious room for a fair price, great staff. Any maintenance issues are sorted quick and efficient by Neil. Nicci is very welcoming and helpful. Garry keeps the communal areas very clean. Overall, a great accommodation. :)

I paid a holding deposit to Xenia…

I paid a holding deposit to Xenia Lettings and was repeatedly ignored when I requested a tenancy agreement or just a simple update. Despite calling, emailing, and messaging over a two-week period, I was left on “seen” or given false promises of callbacks that never happened.

Cheap studio uni accommodation. However constantly getting broken into because the front door is motion censored and doesn’t shut for 10 seconds after it opens. Homeless people sit in the door way which can make it scary when returning to your home late at night, between January- May approximately 5 break ins, sometimes they’d get into the cinema room and smash the place up, sometimes they would try to get in other doors by smashing them or cutting the wood. Even when you’re in your flat it doesn’t particularly feel safe, also no peep holes which would make students feel safer in their homes. Fire alarm goes off once a week which then means standing outside in ur dressing gown while it’s winter. Also empire nightclub across the road is very noisy until early hours of the morning. The road it’s self is extremely noisy up until 4/5am with boy racers with loud exhaust showing off.

Best part of this accom is that it is relatively cheap and in the heart of Middlesbrough. Sadly the prices have been going up each year since COVID however I would still say this place is good value for money. …

Unsafe for female students, incompetent behind the scenes

Moved out of their property 4 years ago, received an email this week insisting I owed £675 in unpaid rent. After days of worry and poring over old bank statements to prove otherwise, here is the full body of the email I received:

Don't let Xenia take your money

Xenia promised to call me and give me a virtual viewing for a studio for the past week. I didn't get any calls and they want me to pay a holding deposit before even seeing where i will be staying which is absolutely crazy. Do not even come close to them.

I really love my single bed studio, very comfy and private. The only issue is the common washer/dryer , if we can have more washers available , it would be perfect. Other than that, the location is lovely , and the staff are friendly.

I've been ripped off. so my wall is falling apart from the storms as the water came through the windows and expensive possessions wrecked, i've been spoken too like I don't know my right and the law. we all went without hot water for the first 3 weeks and some days with out any water at all. also i have been threatened by intruders and was told i should have been upstairs with my door locked. whats the common room for right? and friends have had glass bottles thrown it them. The company where aware that break ins where happening due low quality doors but didn't change them for 2 years. Soo much more I could add. Just not worth the £5800 a year.

Staff are very nice and friendly especially the care taker and cleaner, they will go out their way to make sure you're sorted. The beds are hit and miss, but yourself a topper or ask for a new mattress. The gym was very limited and kept on breaking due to people not having proper inductions. The cinema room is okay it takes a lot of figuring out for wires and that when you have a social. Its 5 minutes from uni and even closer to the main shopping areas, the road outside is very noisy however and there have been a few accidents. The security of the building is all right, no security guard on site and you're relying on the student reps; which can be questionable at times. In addition, the magnetic locking door breaks occasionally so you have to close the door properly to ensure security. The accommodation is okay for its price and 44 weeks is okay. However, with all accommodations you have to be wary with the state you accept the room when you start your tenancy and take pictures of everything, so you get your full deposit back. Overall it's a okay accommodation to stay in your 2nd and 3rd year of uni. Always stay in uni halls 1st year or you'll isolate yourself.

Exactly the environment I needed to focus on my studies. It's quiet, it's secure, and super comfortable. You get exactly what you pay for and the staff are so nice to talk to! Honestly going to miss this place when I move out!

Worst place I lived in to start most of the beds or mattress are broken so prepare to buy new ones, fridge doesn’t work, reception closes early sometimes at 2 pm or 3pm and you can’t get your parcels until the next day WiFi breaks sometimes, fire alarm goes of twice a week sometimes at 2 am, water filter aren’t clean, washing mechines did not work at all for me and my friends living there and there is a lot of noise starting from 5 am all over so good luck sleeping worst place I ever stayed in never going to stay in any of your buildings if I can give negativitie stars I would

even though the accommodation is very nice clean and spacious the security and help for students in difficulty is very much in question reps and security are never available when needed in an emergency as I have found out on more than one occasion as a parent you would hope that an emergency number would be available 24hrs but this is not the case flooded room no electricity what the hell these are students let them wait is the attitude

It's been lovely living in my own flat after having a bad experience living in halls. Friendly staff and wardens. Only thing I would say is that it'd be great to have individual washing facilities in the rooms rather than communal washers/dryers. For someone who has to wash work uniform a couple of times a week, laundry can become very expensive due to not having enough stuff to put in the wash with my uniform to bulk it out and get my money's worth. Other than that, great place to stay while studying!

Went to visit a friend that resides there. Let's say that's the best students accommodation in middlesbrough. Security and ambience on point. And it's proximity to school is an added advantage.

It's a place for students above the building, has 3 units below that is the ground floor, but we are occupying the unit 1 as a Charity Organisation Rccg Divine Throne, Middlesbrough. It's a beautiful place just adjacent Middlesbrough council.

One of the only student accommodations that offer a proper studio room that is large in size for a fair price in comparison to other places around Teesside University.
