Harriers Croft From reservation to completion was brilliant, any problems were dealt with promptly and the communication was excellent with regular build updates and any questions we had were always answered straight away. The sales executive we dealt with always made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the office to enquire to the day we got the keys, we was always made to feel special. Since moving in to our home any defects have been dealt with very quickly and communication again has been excellent. The site team have been giving us visits to make sure we are happy which has been lovely. Really happy overall.

Where to start…

Where to start…7 months living in my new home. 37 snags listed as soon as we moved in. Many fobbed off by Gleeson for which are clearly building issues. For example, dripping condensation in my loft is apparently part of the house drying out. This may be true for abit of damp, but not when there is condensation dripping off the roof all over the insulation. Another example, a cracked tile clearly where they have screwed the shower in and I’m told I should have picked this up on my home demo. Many many other issues (i.e none of the ceilings being level by average 17mm)Do not recommend. Avoid

Greymoor Meadows. The sale to completion was brilliant. The sales rep kept us informed and made us feel at ease. We did have issues with the mortgage provider but Gleeson's worked with us to get this resolved. Won't lie I have had faults with the house but all have been fixed with no issues.I was sceptical about buying a gleeson home reading some reviews but got to say my experience has been positive. It all comes down to who Gleeson's subcontracted too to build the homes for the quality. Gleeson's isn't the issues it's the builders they use on some estates.

Gleeson maybe a bit cheaper but seem to be cheaper for a reason…

Was rushed into completing only to later find 136 snagging issues delaying my move for over a month while works were ongoing. Once these were rectified I moved in to find blocked drains, leaking plumbing and damaged windows which Gleeson are refusing to do anything about and have even accused me of doing. I’m told by the contracts manager this okay because it’s a ‘builders finish’. Think carefully before buying.

Wish I never bought the house to begin…

Wish I never bought the house to begin with… absolutely heartbroken. Was told I wasn’t able to do a snag test before I completed and wasn’t sure whether or not this was normal as I’ve never bought a house before. During the “home demo” I was shut in a room for an hour unable to walk around the home I was buying freely and spoken at, about dampness and electric work within the home. The site manager stressed repeatedly that I wasn’t able to do a snag test and this was “not the time for snagging”. As if that wasn’t bad enough, I completed the following day and immediately found snags from pipe work to paintwork, dents in walls etc and after 24 hours of moving in the house flooded. The waste pipe was hanging out and hadn’t been connected properly, the overflow apparently wasn’t connected or sealed and therefore I had water coming from the lightbulbs, walls and ceiling completely soaking floors, carpets and damaging skirting boards. I was told to report it all via the gleeson app but when I did, the people came to fix the issues and made them worse. The plumber cracked a tile in the bathroom, told me to not get water in the overflow because he “couldn’t guarantee it wouldn’t flood again” and therefore the bath functions as a deep shower because the overflow tap is so low down water doesn’t cover you. The skirting boards should have been replaced but ended up being painted over - I now have paint over the floors & a poor bloke spilled an entire tub of it down my stairs. The integrated appliance wasn’t installed properly, the work to all skirting boards, window sills and generally around the entire property are awful and all have snags (feel free to request photos). And to top it all off, I work from home, so any issues to be “fixed” prohibit me from working for periods of time due to noise or things that require my attention etc. Also, when I first reserved the plot I asked questions about boarding out the loft, storage, building onto the house etc, all things that Dina in the office explained were fine to do. The moment I had the demo and was ready to exchange i found out all these things were completely untrue & the site manager specifically highlighted NOT to board out the loft so there is zero storage in these houses and they are essentially the same size as a small dolls house. Dave the deputy site manager is a blessing to this estate but everything else has been an absolute nightmare. We have been told by so many other residents about issues to their homes, most of which have been ongoing almost a year so I am not holding out hope for any of this to be fixed any time soon.- EDIT - you’ve replied but I have already emailed you and replied to your email and you’ve done nothing since… You’ve attempted to “correct” some of the issues in the house by literally glossing or painting over them. Also the baths are fitted with an extremely low overflow so water doesn’t even cover you when you have a bath. Another thing Gleeson will not correct. There are so many issues it’s like the houses are thrown together.29/11 - EDIT - you’re replying to this yet ignoring my response to your customer care team! You won’t replace a bath that doesn’t function and your site manager is completing uncompleted jobs I have listed to your online app. The customer service process is an absolute nonexistent joke

Great customer experience

Great customer experience, Alicia from Sales is very helpful, cooperative and very responsive. The house I bought is at affordable price, good location and we are being contacted regularly about the progression of the construction. I've been informed by a friend who previously bought a house from Gleeson and they have come access some minor defects after moving in, defects are always found in all new houses no matter the builder, but Gleeson dealt with all issues professionally and won't close a case until you're satisfied. I personally recommend Gleeson Homes

Do. Not. Buy.

I bought a Gleeson property in 2015, brand new. Since then we have had the following issues: Plumbing. The bath was not installed properly and after a mere 12 months of living in the property discovered a huge leak from the bath pipesThe hosepipe tap has leaked for years, even turning off the water doesn’t help. The pipes under the sink are always producing condensation because of the way they have been installed, causing damp and mold to grow, in a place that’s impossible to fix without professional help. Windows and doors: both my front and back door no longer lock securely, the handle of the back door snapped off about 2 years into owning the property and both doors are no longer aligned. The windows no longer close without force and are just poor quality to begin with. Cracks in the walls and ceiling after we were advised the house was done settling and would no longer do this. Uneven concrete floors put in. We had carpets installed when we first came to view the house, which after normal wear and tear we decided to replace last year. After pulling them up, we discovered underneath was dented, stained and poorly set concrete which means we are now limited to what flooring we can put down, without having uneven surfaces. Back garden: on a slope which we knew about, but after trying to dig some of it up, found debris and concrete, waste building materials under the surface. They literally buried their rubbish instead of disposing of it appropriately. The roof. This is the big one. We had to have a roofer out as we discovered a leak, less than 10 years into owning the house. The roofer said the house had been thrown together. Nails hammered in and bent over where screws were required. Uneven and insecure felting mean our roof now needs entirely removing, refelting and putting back together which is going to cost us over £4K in total. We bought this house for £100k back in 2015, when upon further inspection, it’s not even worth half of that. Avoid at all costs.

Bought my house in 2019 was all nicely nice when but once you gave them your money thats it they not intrested in dealing with the faults though there shoddy cowboy work. My bathroom is constantly a problem. I hae a hole in my kitchen through their plumbing over the years but rhey eefuse to look at it as its ‘over 2 years’ but in the two years there drag it out OVER the two years so they can say no my problemTERRIBLE HORRIBLE firm NO customer serviceNO care giving once youare moved in money changed hands Cowboy firm build on the mega cheap to maximise thier profits DO NOT BUY FROM GLEESON HOMES
