First Time Buyer

My experience being a first time buyer was a very quick process to say the least but this was due to the house being built almost a year, nevertheless that didn’t put me off. From the very beginning Adam the Sales Executive has been very helpful and informative and guided me every step of the way. Every time I felt stressed or anxious, he quickly reassured me that everything will go to plan and it did. I’m very happy with the house and the Site Management Richard and Dec have been brilliant in sorting out the very little snags I identified. Shocking customer after care

Been in the house almost a year, snags pointed out within months (1 on key day) of completion still be be completed or been told it’s not getting done or has been half arsed (key day snag is hidden behind the fridge) not the point. Leading up the the completion we had less and less updates almost like they didn’t want us to know that our house was going to be delayed or had no work done to it for a while. Wasn’t even told it passed inspection, solicitor and mortgage informed us the expected completion date and the rest of the bill. Handover was atrocious, got told nothing on the day, in fact the person who do it was looking at us to help her with the check list. Took 4/5 months to get an option we paid for to be installed since it was missing, was mentioned in a email after key day just clarifying if it will be installed just before completion. When we got the keys all of the quality stickers were still all over the house and hadn’t/haven’t been fixed (were there on demo and more was noticed during demo and still the same state on completion).Master bedroom is constantly cold, sure the radiator is too small for the room (the room is the size of the garage), some radiators are very small. Despite being told we have 2 years to snag get told we left it too late or we could’ve caused the snag ourselves. Other than the very poor customer care after completion and leading up to it, you can make it a very nice and cosy home. Can tailor it to your personal style as it’s a blank canvas.

Great pre AND after sales experience!

After reading a lot of negative reviews regarding after sales care, I wanted to post about my recent experience with gleeson. We have been in the property for 2 months now. I used a professional snagging service pre completion but completed before all corrections were made. Since then, most of the list has been completed. Gleeson have a dedicated follow up team who call you to follow up on your experience and discuss your snagging list. I was provided the mobile number of the 2 site managers when we moved in incase of any issues. The team have responded quickly to everything raised. They have been the ones chasing to get hold of me to sort the list of minor corrections out. I have been really happy with the experience as a whole. We have a lot of house for our budget, and so far without compromise.

Terrible, New cars don't come with scratches

Hi, I forgot to mention, the upstairs bathroom doesn't come with a shower. It is only a bath tub. It is half tiled. I had an estimate from a guy that wanted £1,200. to do this. Please read my other review. I'm disgusted. Snag list is a mile long. Whole house needs replastered. Incententives were taken from me. If you buy a Gleeson house, get whatever it is in writing. Shortly after I bought my house at Rhodes Point, carpets and flooring is standard. There is a Kilkenny model across from me, detached, single garage for £14k less than mine, all upgrades included. I didn’t get Jack s£&@

Acklam Gardens - Excellent advisor experience

I stopped by the Acklam Gardens development to view a show house type I wasn’t able to see on the development I’m looking at, upon stepping into the office I was greeted with a friendly welcome from Jackie. Despite not having interest in that specific development, Jackie spent a considerable amount of time listening to and answering questions around the house types and Gleeson homes overall, she was knowledgeable and professional in a warm and genuine way which didn’t give off any hard sell. It was a pleasure to be greeted with Jackie after having a range of different experiences whilst out viewing different developments across a range of builders. I was able to leave with my questions answered alongside more information which has certainly added to my buying experience - overall, great experience.

Was pressured to move into the property…

Was pressured to move into the property (Erin road) as quick as possible, then when I moved in the garden and the fencing were not even complete, there was no privacy at all from a busy road, they said the reasons for this was because they had to re-level the gardens at the back. They have promised us that they will be turfing the garden but weeks later this has still not been done, with warmer weather coming I cannot even use my garden. Several defects reported as well but takes them an age to deal with anything. Would avoid buying from these at all costs

Would never buy from gleeson again in…

Would never buy from gleeson again in my life. They have missed bricks out of the top of my house which I have complained about numerous of times and still two years on no one has been to my property to rectify this problem. I know have birds in my roof which is causing a lot of problems as you can imagine. I’ve rang up multiple of times to be told to go on my online portal and complain threw them which I have explained numerous of times I have no access to this due to a relationship break down and no one seems to know what else to do if you can’t complain on the portals. This is getting beyond a joke

Very disappointed with them . Spoke to a lovely lady arranged appointment jobs a goodin, …..Website is very deceiving 1st lady I spoke told me with my deposit they would ad 5% then then options of ,what I read as 6k worth of upgrade. Kitchen, floors, etc was made up . Don’t like new builds but this was to good to miss! Got there..NOTHING, upgrade was not as “defined “ in fancy category offered detached with upgrade of or 5% either or! You get fences and trurf!! How is putting a fence up an upgrade?? Bitterly disappointed with don’t care attitude of the woman I went to see. Attitude stunk wasn’t interested at as the houses are selling so doesn’t really care. Read carefully before you waste your dav viewing them, she even said wasn’t her job to deals
