Disgusting con artists!!

Disgusting con artists!!! Constantly harassing you to use their very expensive mortgage advisors and if you dont use theirs you ARE NOT even getting a look in. We turned them down 6 or 7 times and everytime we phoned up to arrange a viewing or with any queries we had been "archived" so nobody could find us even though we are still actively looking for a house. We had no contact no property alerts we have been waiting 3 weeks for someone to respond to us after we asked for a viewing numerous times, the one property we did actually get to view through them we arrived at the property and they did not even know we were coming. They tell you everything you wantvtonhear and then tell the sellers completeley different things to make them sell to the ones who have used their expensive mortgage advisor.Very un professional!!!!! DO NOT USE even if u like the house just look elsewhere.

UNPROFESSIONAL

They advertised a house for rent on the Second Week of May and they made us want to pay extra charges and insurances. Basically they wanted to charge us for everything. (I think if they could charge us of breathing they would) So UNPROFESSIONAL and every single time you ask them about your tenancy agreement and any updates they will answer you. “I WILL GET BACK WITH YOU LATER” “I’M CALLING THE LANDLORD.” such a waste of time, money, and energy.

Awful Lettings company with no customer service skills

Took me 4 phone calls to arrange a check out when I left a property and then I was told that a quick email to sequence and I would get our deposit back. Totally misleading as there is an entire process to go through. This agency has no care for their tenants - you are Purely a number. They are flippant on the phone and do not pass on messages. I took keys back and passed on the burglar alarm code. The next day I get a call asking what the code is as the check out guy has set it off!! Hopeless - avoid if possible

Dishonest, arrogant, rude and unprofessional!!

Dishonest, arrogant and rude. Do not attempt to sell via the Welwyn Garden City branch. They will waste 6 weeks of your time with your house removed from the market for a buyer that hadn’t even provided sufficient I.D!! (Something I would have expected to have been done before the gentleman in question was allowed to place offers and demand the house was removed from the market and further viewings cancelled) -which I did in good faith.Grant the manager at WGC takes on average 4 days to respond to emails when asking for simple updates. He fobbed me off with ‘the buyers solicitors are waiting for draft contracts’ when in fact my solicitor hadn’t received anything from either WHB or the buyers solicitors. How can a solicitor draft a contract without even a name? So this was a lie to keep me quiet for a few more days! Viewings always shoddy... Lights left on, sofa sat on, my fridge/freezer had even been turned off and started to defrost by the time I’d got home. Not the service I expect when paying over 3grand in fees. The disappointing part is Grant knew how disappointed I had been with my previous agent, he promised I’d receive a better service from himself and his team at WHB.I now need to add that Grant (branch manager) instead of acting professionally and apologising, is instead going around town bad mouthing me and asking people who know me on a personal level to have me take down this review. I find this highly insulting, unprofessional and inappropriate. As a manager he should be aware this against any code of conduct and client confidentiality.Head office are now aware of this poor management and disappointing practise.

Lazy and not worth the time

We set up the sale of our house with these guys, all seemed well not pushy or overbearing with sales tactics. Been on the market for 3-4 weeks, no viewings at all. No contact from them either and not even a sign up. Sold our house through our original agent and when we called to let whb know, they had no idea who was looking after our sale and took it off the market before the question was even out of our mouths. If you cant be bothered to sell a house, don't bother wasting everyone's time

Set up to part you from your money even if they don't get all of it.

I entirely regret letting this company anywhere near our house that we wanted to sell.Firstly, houses falling through before contracts are being exchanged currently runs at about 33%. There are companies that thoroughly check out potential buyers before landing the customer in financial trouble; which can cut this rate in half. In our experience, WH Brown did none of this. A couple came forward & the sale started to progress. Only when we were a few weeks from completion did we find out that this couple couldn't even raise a mortgage which caused everything to collapse. Of course, your solicitors that you instruct are not going to waive their charges. We ended up over £2000 pounds out of pocket with nothing to show for it. This, of course, includes arty farty photo's that WH Brown actually charge you for. When I went into their offices & asked to use their toilet (when the sale was proceeding) there were instructions on how to work the customer & hence relieve them of their hard earned cash over the toilet. It stinks (no pun intended) to high heaven, which on a spiritual note I would say that these big wigs that run this company have also wavered their route to.Lastly, don't expect them to find you a mortgage offer without charging you hundreds of pounds. And yes there is also an admin fee involved along the line. One more thing if a company can't even come on here & defend themselves & the way they act, what does that tell you?

Could not care less about buying or selling housesI

My partner went to view a property being marketed by William H Brown in Kings Lynn UK. The lad dealing with the viewing did not even say hello nor introduce himself and merely pointed to the back door. He also gave incorrect information about the property and assured us that someone would get back later that day to register our interest in the 'modern auction' debacle but nobody even bothered.

Do not use.

Do not use. Some branches are okay from my own dealings but most branches communication with clients is abysmal and seems to be a total lack of coordination or indeed communication between colleagues or with their buyers in certain branches.

I’ve constantly had to chase the estate…

I’ve constantly had to chase the estate agents to do anything. I couldn’t move into my property because they photocopied the wrong side of my driving license, didn’t notice this until 3 days before and when I tried to call the agent I was working with hand gone on annual leave. Despite going to another branch (I’m 160 miles from where I am moving to) and then photocopying it, they forgot to send it on.I’ve rented and bought properties before and never worked with such an inept load of estate agents.

Terrible

Terrible. We were mislead about the permitt parking when viewing the flat (were not eligible for a permit, but they told us we were), the agency that they used to complete the references asked me for the same information at least four times, they also did the same thing to my last landlord, we weren't given to codes for the building/pedestrian gate/vehicle gate when we collected the key and had to ask for them seperatly, still haven't had the code for the vehicle gate over a week after we moved in. Whole thing was a total shambles, would not recommend.Edit: Four months after I wrote this original review some of the team from William H Brown came to conduct a flat Inspection. I was out at work and my boyfriend was in London on business. When I came home there was feces in my toilet and the only people who could have done it was them. We emailed them about it they were really snotty and basically called us liars. We're moving as soon as our agreement is up, they're unprofessional and disgustingly childish, an absolute disgrace.

William brown managed to sell our house…

William brown managed to sell our house quick enough although it was priced very fairly. However, the solicitors they recommend are useless. If they have a problem they have to look it up on the internet. They nearly lost us the sale over a simple right of access problem. We had to ring the buyers and explain. Their prices are set by browns also.Their mortgage advisor found us a mortgage 2,% higher than an independent. Would never use them or their associates again.

A truly dreadful estate agent

A truly dreadful estate agent. Absolutely no feedback or chasing up of progress during sale. The agent NEVER returns calls and this was also fed back to me by both my solicitor and the vendor's estate agents. In fact, my solicitor was so frustrated by the poor service, she recommended that I negotiate a reduction in fees (which of course was refused by the agent). When a complaint by letter was made, it took over a week for them to respond and my concerns were brushed off with a bunch of excuses. The agent did not even call me to tell me that completion or exchange had occurred! This must be THE most useless agent ever.

TRULY AWFUL AND RUBBISH

we used this company (which became Sequence Housing) to manage two rental properties.the service provided to our tenants was awfulthe service provided to us, the landlords, was awfulall complaints to them where replied to with contempt and argumentative replies.we paid them to manage the subcontractors working our houses, they did not manage anything, we have been repeatedly over charged for very poor quality work.their statements of account are almost impossible to follow, we ended up always creating a spreadsheet and re-entering data into it to try and understand the current financial position.Three months after terminating their services, we are still owed money by them, and they still ignore our requests for information. No statements of account have been received for months, but, I know they have retained hundreds of pounds "on account" despite us no longer being a customer of theirs.even our lawyers (who only had to deal with them three times) think the service provided was sub-standard and unprofessional - "we can't understand their attitude and why they are so difficult to deal with"they constantly still email my father, (who is dead), and my brother, even though he has repeatedly told them he isn't involved with the houses and refuses to work with Sequence,.So, unhappy tenantsunhappy local council officersunhappy landlordsand - quite frankly none of the staff seem happy when you talk to them.and, nobody in the companies management team care at all that everybody hates the company and thinks they are rubbish.AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Terrible

Terrible. Left us without heating for six weeks. Then served us notice! A very worrying time this Christmas with having to find a new home, and with a disabled child to boot. In the middle of an omicron surge. Very stressful. Definitely do not use these awful agents to let your house or rent from. They do not reply to emails, texts anything and do not listen to reason.

William H Brown is by far the worst…

William H Brown is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. From start to finish, renting a property from them has been an absolute joke. To start off, their application fees are extortionate and some of the most expensive on the market which is completely unjustifiable, and every single member of their staff that I have had the misfortune of dealing with has been incompetent at best. I had a house inspection arranged (that was their requirement, not mine) that they failed to turn up for without warning even though I’d had to book a day off work and received barely an apology two days later when they decided they could be bothered to ring me back. Granted, few issues arose in the months following that, although that soon changed. I rang them as I was nearing the end of my tenancy to check that I was able to call and pay my last months rent on a credit card due to the fact that I was already paying out for a new property and was assured that that would be fine, only to ring them 2 days later to do so and was told that it wasn’t possible - this then left me out of pocket by £525, and again, no apology or explanation just a ridiculous conversation with a pathetic excuse for a customer service advisor who had no idea what day it was. Then came the battle with receiving my bond back, in which I was essentially blackmailed by another of their so called agents, in order to agree to take less money. I then didn’t receive this tiny sum of money for another 2 weeks even though I was advised it would be 2-3 working days. Even after that, I still didn’t receive the rent back that I had overpaid for almost 4 weeks, at which point when chasing them up for the 3rd time, was told that they didn’t have my bank details and had to send them again - bearing in mind they had already transferred me money from the bond to that same account. After the whole debacle of this experience, I finally thought I had heard the last from them and relieved was not the word, but oh how wrong I was. 3 months after I left the property, I receive a phone call from them accusing me of going back into the house without permission. On what grounds I have no idea, given that they received the keys back from me the day I left the property, not to mention the fact that I’d rather be set on fire than set foot back in that house. All in all, a vile and disgusting company who are after nothing but to line their own pockets and who hire the most patronising, unintelligent low life’s that I’ve ever known. Avoid at all costs if you care about your own mental health and well-being as well as your bank balance.

AVOID AVOID shocking service insist on…

AVOID AVOID shocking service insist on you accepting offer tell you your buyers in excellent position for quick sale and over 6 weeks later buyers still not got mortgage offer, tell you they will call you back they DONT 9/10 , said to manager I’m paying for them to a job I don’t expect to keep chasing them up and get told well you haven’t paid yet , really but I will be paying £4200.00 on completion. Recommend solicitors for you and all they do is ring you asking for extra payments that are not even mentioned in the small print ie my property has 2 land registry numbers they wanted an extra £200 because of this , you are paying the estate agents for basically nothing and all you get is stress stress and more stress

Will NEVER use Willian H Brown again

Will NEVER use Willian H Brown again, as a tenant. Our landlords also agree they will not use the company again and are actively looking to use someone else. POOR management and organisation, no one ever knows what’s going on when we call to chase things up. We have had people come to view the property we were still paying rent on and living in, with no confirmation or even knowledge this had been arranged. Viewers turned up on the day we were moving out of the house, William H brown didn’t even know we were moving out!!! We now have accusations of being in arrears, despite having proof of how much we were told we had to pay (due to leaving the property half way through the month). Our bond is not being released because of this, over two weeks ago we left the property and still no sign of the £950 being sent back. None of the departments have a clue what they are doing. Very frustrating
