Absolutely horrendous letting agent. They carefully prepare paperwork to trap you and squeeze money out of you. They intentionally hide information and make false promises. They have no value to a good tenant who have paid monthly rent always on time for years and they will slap you showing certain hidden conditions if you want to leave the property. Beware! I have recently rented a property management by this company and i honestly have nothing positive to say, they are simply unprofessional and can’t do simple maths which led to us owing more in deposit than was firstly stated due to a mistake in the initial payment stated, then when picking up the keys to our property they were in an envelope in the office they did not ask for IDs to check we were the home owners, then coming to when we didn’t not want to renew our tenancy they would give us a days notice about viewings being conducted a week before we were due to move out ! they cause me and my house mate nothing but stress and i would avoid at all costs if you can!

This companies accounting is ridiculous, I am paying ground rent (for a property 30 years old ... pure profit) and 'service charges' (there is NO service provided) that has increased over 20% every year for 3 years to profit them and yet they cannot understand a monthly DD paying them all this money and insist on sending out massive bills. What an absolute joke.

Terrible, Terrible , Terrible . Communication and an unenthusiastic unproffessional attitude scores a zero .When you phone you can never get hold of anyone, if your lucky enough to catch them after many and I mean many attempts they cut you short as they are off to another meeting. State they will phone back next day, but never ever do. Phone back the next day .When they eventually do, if they do they take a week or more to respond to emails or calls with no apology for delay in repling ..And so the cycle gos on. We were interested in a property however due to the unproffessional service , it has now completely put us off the property .Sad to say and we feel sorry for the vendors but we are out and are moving on looking else where. Carter Jonas seriously, with a big S , need to review their agents customer service skillls .Based on our experience we would never ever use this company to sell our property . UPDATE it is now the 5th of October, we contacted CJ once again explaining our concerns with their agent poor communiacation skills and that we would like to discuss the property offer with another agent in their office and trust that we would not have to wait weeks for them to get back to us .Guess what, its approx 3 weeks now, and again nothing, ..no reply at all.

Isabelle Branson at the Wandsworth Common office - 10/10 for a fabulous, focused and honest service. Throughout she gave honest, constructive, solution based feedback. She worked tirelessly, with a smile always on her face, to move forward even when my property, stubbornly insisted on throwing challenge after challenge at her. Once we secured a buyer she diligently drove it over the line. I think with anyone else it may have not proceeded given the buyers market we are in. GoogleCarter Jonas have been excellent agents. No long lock in contract just a 28 day rolling contract. All the sales team came over to get to know the house and discuss the quirks with us to enable the best buying experience, guiding us about things to tweak before we went live. They communicated well and worked as a team to establish the best price for us to find a buyer in a challenging market. We would have had a board, the house sold before they had chance to put it up. We have had a great experience and would happily go back should we ever need to.

Myself and my partner moved into a property 1st July 2021 we signed a 3 year tenancy agreement throw circumstances we moved out on 31st July 2023 we were told that we would loose £564.00 of our £1036.00 deposit when we moved out we were a bit annoyed about it but were told this was because of the cost to them or the Landlords for readvertising the property we then found out that their was new tenants moving in on the 2nd August which made us slightly annoyed before we moved out we got professional cleaners into clean the house the day before we moved out the house was spotless.We moved out on Monday 31st September 2023 we waited and waited for the rest of the money to be paid into our bank account which never happened the house was suppose to be inspected by an independent person on the same day we moved out but this never happened the house was inspected on the first 01/08/23 then the new tenants moved in on the 2nd July 2023 we eventually got a copy of the report which shocked us apparently the house was dirty and uncleaned which was a load of rubbish.We eventually got an email from Rebecca at Carter Jonas saying that they were going to give us back £60 out of a £1036.00 deposit which I rejected they were taking a further £372.00 for cleaning the house and £100.00 for tidying up the garden we asked for copies of the receipts we eventually got a receipt for the cleaning of the house which is just a bog standard receipt which has no date when the cleaning was done or the actual address of the property we are still waiting for the receipt for the work done in the garden so we are still fighting this.
Hi Graham - We are sorry to hear about your experience and we have reviewed this with the office involved. In line with an early termination of a tenancy before the end of the fixed term the landlord can claim on reasonable losses incurred for having to re-let the property prior to otherwise agreed. The end of tenancy process involves a full schedule of condition checkout which is then compared to the report which is compiled when a tenancy starts. Both these reports are carried out by an independent third party and are designed to provide a factual and impartial view of the property’s condition. As with any deposit negotiations where a landlord is looking to make a claim, invoices and/or quotes will be used to prove any reasonable costs or losses that have been incurred as a result of any action or inaction during the tenancy. We are sorry to hear you feel there has been a poor service and poor communication.
