Have used M & B for 7 years to manage our rental property. Increasingly poor service as the years go by, with many staff changes in property management and a willingness to abdicate rather than own a problem or issue. A recent failure to meet a legal deadline for gas safety, was met with untold reasons and justifications as to why is was not their responsibility (my poor choice of landlord contract apparently!) and the solution in an email from M & B was for me to resolve. Always opted for the fully managed service since using M & B but we really do not receive the 'fully comprehensive management service' as advertised or promised. Untold input required from the landlord on occasions, which is time consuming and effectively contradicts having a letting agent in the first place. On the plus side the rent payments are always prompt and any discrepancies dealt with quickly and efficiently. Such a shame that the property management side of the company is so inefficient and hard work to deal with at times.

Miles and Barr proved quite difficult to get hold of, several call to their lettings number went unanswered and promised call backs did not happen. I finally got a call and arranged a viewing, while waiting outside the flat I was called to say that there was a problem with the keys and they would have to cancel. However, this was rectified and I was finally shown round by Jake Chamberlain, who was polite and courteous. If he didn't know an answer to my question he said so, rather than try and bluff his way through, which I appreciated. The flat was not for me in the end, but I have nothing bad to say about the agent who showed it to me. The agency itself came across as a bit disorganised, but they got there in the end.

Absolute joke Miles and Barr are. Letting agency lost my front door keys which I paid to have replaced. Tenant left the flat in a disgusting way yet the check out was deemed satisfactory. The sub contractor cleaner said she cleaned the flat yet upon inspection is absolutely filthy. When I raised this with the letting team I got passed from operator to operator. I firmly believe the letting agency has family members as sub contractors and sadly I parted companies with them and have a new management agent. In one word. SHOCKING.

Viewed a number of houses with them. Agent in whitstable was fine. Knew the properties and was helpful. In Margate the agent had never been inside the house and was only interested in getting us signed up to them, despite us saying we were happy with our sales agent

With all this combined we were able to purchase our first property in a short period of time.

A buyer was found within 2 days of getting on the market. Once we had found a property to buy it took far longer to reach exchange than we had anticipated but all the problems were caused by our lenders poor choice of conveyancer causing serious delays. Other than that the sale process was pretty smooth. The use of of a sales co-ordinator definitely helped keep everyone up to date and helped progress things.Emily Stickler regularly kept in touch and co-ordinated everything very well particularly towards the end when time constraints got quite hairy and tense.

We had great experiences with all agents we encountered at miles and Barr throughout our search for a home. When we put an offer on the home of our dreams they were very easy to deal with. Louise our negotiating agent was brilliant from accepting the offer to exchange. She was fully transparent through the process and was on hand for all our questions. Simply wonderful.Would also like to mention Finn and Joe who showed us around houses, they were great to deal with, great service and didn't try and pressure us on any houses.

Buying my property was a long process. Not the estate agents fault. However, Becky white kept me informed throughout the whole process. She gave me advice when she thought I needed to contact the solicitor and had a calm way about her that made you chill when is said it was all progressing nicely.
