We recently sold my Mum's retirement flat through John Lake Estate Agents in Torquay and were extremely impressed with the service we received from start to finish. The team were friendly, professional and highly efficient throughout the process. The property was marketed very quickly after instruction, with excellent presentation and proactive promotion. We were particularly pleased with how swiftly they found a buyer, which exceeded our expectations. Communication was outstanding. The team were always attentive, kept us updated at every stage, and were quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Their personal approach and willingness to go the extra mile made what could have been a stressful process feel straightforward and well managed. Thanks to Paul, Toby, Jess and Carolyn who we dealt with during the process and apologies if we've left anyone off. We would not hesitate to recommend John Lake Estate Agents to anyone looking to buy or sell property in the Torquay area. A truly excellent service from a knowledgeable and dedicated team.

I recently bought my first home through John Lake Estate Agents and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the service I received. Paul was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process and was always just a phone call away whenever I needed anything. As a first-time buyer, that level of support and reassurance made a huge difference. Paul and the team were professional, responsive and clearly very experienced. They acted for the seller very professionally during the negotiation process too - although I have to admit, I did wish Paul wasn’t quite so good at negotiating! That said, I genuinely felt the deal was fair for both sides, and I’m very happy I went ahead. Buying a home can be stressful, but John Lake made the whole experience feel far smoother and more manageable. I cannot praise them enough, and should I ever decide to sell this property in the future, I would absolutely and without doubt use them again. Highly recommended.

We can highly recommend John Lake estate agents. Paul Leaver was the agent that oversaw our whole selling process from start to finish. He was excellent at keeping us up to date and ensuring the chain kept moving. They may not be the cheapest but we wanted experience and quality and that is exactly what we got.

Jess saw our sale through on our maisonette in Wellswood, Torquay. She definitely went above and beyond to get it done. The sale wasn't easy, as it was stuck in a chain, but Jess worked incredibly hard to make it all happen. Thank you so much Jess. You have been absolutely amazing. Thanks to Paul too, for his initial input and setting up the process. We have now sold and rented through John Lake and will definitely recommend. Graham and Diana. X

We recently purchased a property through John Lake in Torquay and were extremely impressed with the service throughout. The transaction was not without its difficulties, particularly due to delays and challenges involving the seller’s solicitors, but John Lake remained professional, proactive and supportive from start to finish. A particular mention must go to Paul, whose communication was excellent. His information was consistently accurate, clear and straight to the point, which gave us confidence at some fairly frustrating stages of the process. His efforts undoubtedly helped keep the chain together and ultimately ensured that the purchase got over the line. We are very grateful for the support we received and would have no hesitation in recommending John Lake to anyone buying or selling property in the Torquay area. Excellent service from a team who genuinely worked hard to get the job done.

This was the first time o used John Lake to rent out my house in Babbacombe. They have been fantastic. My property was advertised across many well known platforms including Rightmove. Steve was very conscientious and attended to all details with precision and care. The promotions attracted a good number of potential tenants and Steve provided me with detailed information about each, allowing me to make a well-informed choice. Thankfully, I now have some great new tenants. George and Sue were also really helpful attending to all the necessary paperwork. All went above and beyond to get things finalized. A big thank you. I will definitely use John Lake again.

From the management of Steve and the team, they are the most professional, reliable, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable about the properties they advertise. They always have time for me every time I visit the office or telephone to help with any queries I have. I don't really like giving reviews but in this case, they are an exception and I recommend John Lake Lettings to anyone if they are looking for somewhere to rent.

If you are looking for an estate agent in Torquay please look no further! My experience of dealing with John Lake is second to none and spans several years. I first used them 10 years ago when I was dealing with the sale of my parents property and their good advice and down to earth pricing ensured a very quick sale which I was more than happy with. Move forward 10 years and my husband and I wanted to sell our home and, of course, for us there was no-one else, it was John Lake all the way. Every member of the team there is equally professional, they respond very quickly to every and any query and, once again, it was a job very well done. Thank you so much to Neil and all of his team, you all became true and trusted professional friends.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

What an experience ! Thank you so much for a superb renting experience with you in Babbacombe, Torquay. What an informative and thorough check-in for a fabulous property with a very interesting artistic and historical background. I am sincerely grateful for Steve who facilitated check in, George who supported with online viewings while I was in northwest of England and certainly landlords for their very aesthetic taste in decorations and furniture. Throughout the renting experience, agents were very helpful and flexible which really meant a lot to me while moving all the way from Lancaster to Torquay. After check-in, I was very surprised that the property looked immaculate with a very distinctive and breathtaking vibe! I am so very grateful for John Lake for helping me to live in a place that feels like a fairytale!
