Hunters have been nothing but helpful with my move. Especially Iestyn and Kye. I would highly recommend using Hunters.

Hunters have the appearance of professionality and fair trading but our experience did not justify that. From the reviews, it seems they place much higher priority on their sales department than their lettings department. It was a shame, as the staff seem lovely and well-meaning but our experience was poor. We paid a large amount of 'admin fees' to secure the property, which was absolutely a rip off. When we first moved in, we were not given the correct access codes to our property, we tried to call them and got no response and had to wait for other tenants to arrive so they could tell us the code to move in. We moved into an Ancoats property, that had claimed to be 'professionally cleaned' and definitely was not. It was dirty, dusty and scuffed all over. I assume all the lights were perhaps not properly tested because 4 broke within a week. In the first week, we took the bins out to the on-site bin store, when we realised, we were supposed to have been given a fob when we moved in, in order to access the building and enter and exit the bin store. We went out there with no phones, so we had to wait half an hour until we found another tenant to let us back into the building. We called the office and they casually apologised and gave us the fob but offered no compensation. We emailed about getting maintenance issues sorted in the flat, and we had no response for the 6 months we were there. At the end of the tenancy, they charged a ridiculous £30 for us to use them as a reference for our new flat. I know this is ridiculous because it is simply a 3 minute call confirming that we are good tenants and have paid our rent, and they said they would not confirm this unless we paid them £30! Finally, we have moved out now, and they charge a ridiculous '£120' check-out fee (which is now rightfully illegal because it is honestly an empty payment) which covers the estate agent taking an hour or so to assess the state of the property. This should not be our fee to cover, it is in the interest of the agent, not the tenants. This means that regardless if we left the house in a spotless condition, we would not get our full deposit back anyway, because we "have" to pay the £120 check out fee. How is it fair to take a deposit to secure the property's state, and take out money from it regardless if it is in perfect condition? It should have been more clearly highlighted to us. I reiterate, we should not have to pay this fee, it is not in our interest. It makes sense why it is now illegal. Confirming their poor customer service, I sent an email to Hunters on the 2nd August, and 20 days later, I have yet to have a reply. Would not recommend, greedy company. Do not let the kind staff fool you.

Hunters Manchester were really bad to be honest, worst letting agent we've used. When we moved in the flat was filthy but we completed the itinerary and among other things we stated that the fire alarms were not working and certain spot lights were also not turning on. They did nothing about the itinerary, not even the fire alarms! When we moved out they tried to charge us for the very same spotlights we mentioned were not working when we moved in. Granted they gave us a token gesture refund for the filthy state of the flat, but when we moved out and left the flat in a much cleaner state than when we moved in, the cleaning charge they tried to deduct was not relative at all. The internet had to be taken up with a certain provider that was very expensive, so we queried this and the response I got from Lewis was 'well I'm not the landlord so how would I know'. Great customer service there, what is the letting agency for then other than charging hundreds of pounds of fees to not help or take any responsibility? The photos of the itinerary did not match the apartment at all so be careful there. We tried to call Lewis about certain things but he was never available apparently and email replies can take up to 42 days (seriously). When we handed our notice that we were going to vacate the property Hunters turned up one day when we were packing up with a viewing for future tenants. They gave us no notice whatsoever of this viewing they had arranged. We had Lewis as our point of contact so it may be different for others, but generally expect bad attitude, total incompetence and lack of reply to queries. We had a challenge getting our deposit back too but this was expected based on the service we had received during our tenancy. Not addressing faulty fire alarms or giving tenants notice of your arrival is really bad but by the end we were just happy to leave and not have to deal with Hunters again.

Dishonest, incompetent and terrible attitude

Should you choose this letting agents here are a few things you can expect as routine:1) Lying about the status of properties on the market and deliberately misleading all parties on the status of such properties.2) Arranging appointments to view properties that they don't even turn up to meet you at.3) Cocky, arrogant and sarcastic customer service. They really do not care AT ALL!Literally the worst letting agent you could ever choose to instruct. As you can see from the other reviews, dishonesty, incompetence and terrible staff attitudes are a feature. There is a reason for that. Be warned.

Don’t sell with hunters

If you are selling your property please avoid hunters, they charge an extortionate fee for buyers to provide ID when purchasing a property and use a 3rd party company to complete these checks, sadly that company are really poor and their app doesn’t work meaning the whole process of confirming who you are is near impossible despite having to do so to sell your own property.

Hunters Manchester Property Management

Hunters Manchester Office managed an up-market property for me in the city centre. It was far from a good experience. At best i felt the service provided was 'best efforts' rather than coordinated and professional. If they could make an error (sometimes repeatedly) they would, which meant I ended up continually monitoring things and lost money as a result. Contacting Hunters was at times very hit and miss, and repeated attempts to speak to their regional manager when unresolved issues arose was met with silence. In my opinion there are better options out there for managing your property. I'd never go back to Hunters Manchester .

Hunters Belmont Circle

Called Hunters Belmont Circle to arrange a valuation of my home. They asked me the reason for wanting to sell and when I told them it was because we're divorcing the representative immediately turned frosty and said they charge for valuations if your selling due to divorce. Imagine you're presented with a very devastating and traumatic life event, and then the pariahs come a hunting to see if they too can make a profit out of someone else's misery. Shameful.

Why all the complications?

Tried to book a viewing online of a property in South Shields. I received multiple text messages and emails asking me to complete a further questionnaire before they could proceed. This questionnaire then appears to have prompted another questionnaire (with multiple further texts and emails), which looked like it was going to try and book me in for a property valuation of my current home. I decided instead to call and try and book a viewing. The gentleman who answered seemed thoroughly disinterested and told me viewings could only be booked for weekdays, and only during the hours of 9am to 5pm. I explained that I work during those hours (as most people do, I would suspect) and he said, 'Ok then, bye' and terminated the call. Not sure exactly how anyone is supposed to view a property with Hunters.

Aside from a few hiccups with miscommunication between landlord/agent, my experience with Hunters has been refreshingly smooth, efficient and professional. Have rented with a few different agencies in Manchester and would definitely say this was the most pleasant

Extremely bad experience with Unprofessional and Rude people... Preston Road Wembley branch

Preston Road Wembley Branch I regret to say that my experience with your service has been extremely disappointing. The level of unprofessionalism displayed throughout the process was astounding. From misleading information to outright lies, it became clear that your team was not transparent or trustworthy from the start. Unfortunately, after the deal was finalized, your true nature became even more evident. The promises made prior to the transaction were not upheld, and your team showed a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. I would strongly caution anyone against working with your company. Thank you for making this an experience I will never forget, but for all the wrong reasons.

I dealt with Ian and Claudette of Hunters Manchester for the sale of my property (1-bed apartment, Manchester City Centre). From start to finish I've been v happy with every aspect of the service - from initial phone consultation through valuation, marketing, sales, negotiation, etc. They kept me informed during the process and were always available to update and discuss things as needed. Would have no problem recommending them, I've been very happy with the service levels and the attitude with which they approach their work. Well done guys!!

Thank you so much to Rob

Thank you so much to Rob, I believe, that’s his name for going the extra mile to get my wristwatch fixed. It had unfortunately come apart whilst they were trying to install a battery. I am eternally grateful as the watch was special to me. They were most apologetic and ensured that everything was done to get the thing up and working. So once again thank you for your excellent customer service.100%

I have recently purchased an apartment through Hunters Deansgate and Mark was my sales advisor. I cannot fault the service from Hunters, although communication wasn't great at the start, the further actions from all staff members made me forget my worries. I would recommend Hunters and I will use again myself in the future. Mark and Claudette were proactive and determined throughout my purchase and we're always very helpful with any of my enquirers. Mark went the extra mile with his service level and on occasions even contacted solicitors, valuers and maintenance agencies on my behalf, despite me only being the buyer paying no fees to the estate agents! Overall great experience and I feel Mark and the team are the reason my house purchase complete as soon as it did. Thank you.

Absolutely the worst estate agents

Absolutely the worst estate agents , I booked a flat viewing at 4:45pm on Friday evening , I was left a voice message in the morning asking if I couldn’t attend please let them know, I was attending so not necessary, I drove for 50 mins in rush hour traffic and got to the property about 4:47 pm 2 mins late, on the travel over I phoned up the company 4 times leaving messages saying I will be slightly late no answer, when I go to the property the agent wasn’t there , no phone call to my mobile at any point, I knocked on the door and the owners were there very surprised to see me 🤔🤔 I said hi I have a viewing which they replied oh we didn’t know and there has been no agent there today waiting for me, it was very awkward looking around and then I left, the whole situation was a joke how DARE YOU treat potential renters/buyers that way not even turning up and even letting the owners know, waste of my travel time and petrol money , email the agents and they replied back there was someone there but because u was 2 min late they left as there to busy to wait, CROCK of S**t no one was there confirmed bye the owners, I really hope your company goes bust and u all lose your jobs , I should of look at the reviews on here before contacting your agency as there shocking and the worst Iv ever see. For a company Shameful Sharon mcevoy rude lady stay clear

Hunters

Hunters- Wallasey branchHunters- Wallasey branch. Horrendous. Absolutely no compassion or care during Covid-19. Even though the landlord is probably taken advantage of his mortgage holidays. Had no working fire alarms since February!!! Don’t reply to emails or answer the phone. DO NOT RENT OFF THESE. House was filthy when we moved in took me 4 days to clean before stuff could be moved in- told them this and they just said rented as seen.

Avoid at all costs. The worst of the worst!

Couldn't have come across worse agents. Took two months to get the house on the market because of continuous delays with contracts, photos and communications. Extremely unresponsive overall, would sometimes have to call for weeks to get an answer or an update. The agents come to house viewings without knowing anything about the house and they lie more than any service provider I've ever dealt with. The absolute bottom of the barrel of estate agents. Avoid at all costs!

8yo living in freezing apartment for over a week

The flat has no heating and the boiler is not working, while the agent claimed that they are working fine during the viewing. The engineer said it takes 3-5 working days to get the parts to fix the boiler, my 8yo has to live in freezing cold apartment for more than a week. The agents just sent us 2 portable heaters and said we have to bear with it.

After 4 other (so called leading estate agents, I had made appointments with over a month before, organising flights and hotels to stay in so I could view some properties) didn't even bother to turn up. I though my 3 day trip to Manchester, was going to be a complete waste of time and money. When I meet Claudette from hunters, I found her to be very professional and very helpful. Although the apartment we viewed that day was not right for me, Claudette instantly new what I was looking for. Living over seas was always going to make the task harder, but 3 months later Claudette found my perfect apartment, then made sure the sale went through without any problems and on time. I would recommend Claudette and Hunters to anyone looking for a property in Manchester, she is professional, knowledgeable and prompt. Renny.

If I could give zero stars or negative

If I could give zero stars or even negative stars, I would. From renting the property, collecting the keys, discussing the lease renewal, to the recent issue with rent payments, it has been a complete disaster. When I first viewed the property, I told the agent at Hunter that my current lease was ending soon and I needed to speed up the process of getting the keys. The agent assured me it would be fine and agreed to hand over the keys on Monday. However, I spent the entire Monday chasing them from morning to evening, even going to their office, but still didn’t get the keys. When I arrived at their office, they told me some documents weren’t signed. I couldn’t believe they only realized this after I had to show up in person. The next day, I contacted them again in the morning, and once again, they weren’t ready. It wasn't until late Tuesday, right before their office closed, that I finally got the keys. A year later, when it was time to renew, Hunter told me the landlord agreed not to raise the rent, and I immediately accepted. They sent over the renewal documents, but before I could sign and return them, they called the next day saying the landlord had changed their mind and wanted to increase the rent by £200. I was shocked. How could they go back on their word? Hunter even insisted that the landlord had the right to do so because there were still two weeks before the lease renewal, otherwise, the landlord could end the tenancy. This felt like bullying, but I had no choice but to agree. Yesterday, I received the payment invoice for the renewal, but the amount listed was still the old rent. Since they issued the invoice, I paid the amount stated. Today, they realized their mistake and sent me an email asking for the remaining balance, even rushing me to pay immediately. I was at work at the time, so I couldn’t make the payment right away. Later, Hunter's agency called me, and instead of being polite, they demanded I pay as soon as possible. I told them I was working and couldn’t pay immediately, and that it was their mistake, not mine. They insisted I pay after work, but I had other commitments. I can’t believe they made the mistake but still had such a rude attitude. I will never use this company again, and I hope they go out of business to avoid further damaging the reputation of service companies in the UK.

It’s quite a long and stressful process, looking for a property and buying, but of the many estate agents I did viewings with I always found Hunters to be very good - they knew about the properties they were dealing with. There were other companies where I rang up with questions about whether properties had been sold, which more than once was answered with a ‘probably’, or ‘I think so’! I ended up buying through Hunters, and I’d say I was impressed that I got to deal with the same person throughout; they always got back when they said, were very friendly and helpful in answering questions, which was key for me. I’d recommend them.
