TrustpilotThis company doesn't seem to care…
This company doesn't seem to care either about their prospective customers or their existing landlords.
I have an outstanding issue with their poor tenant management at a property that they have let for a number of years and their failure to recover documented damage after the tenant vacated the property.
Nobody is answering my emails.
The owner has notified his landlords that yet another staff member has left the company, they are notorious for being unable to retain staff.
I would not recommend them to anyone.

TrustpilotGutted
I was really impressed with the valuer's sales pitch and genuinely believed they would be the best firm to sell my home. The fact they had a relationship with Ryan property law also played a part, although that turned out to be a disaster, but that's a review for another day.
Experience of sales team - Georgia is so lovely and was a pleasure to work with. However, even after a week, the sole promotion strategy was pushing me to lower the price, which I eventually caved into and feel like I would have got more money had I gone with an approach suggested by a different agent.
I had over 30 viewings, which was exhausting preparing the house for. Most of these were time wasting - one definitely a pseudonym (why don't they ask for ID checks?) and at least 10 weren't actually people who were in a position to buy (not got house on market or it would turn out they'd offered elsewhere).
The buyers buyer (also buying through Hunters), was not vetted correctly or there was a big cover up. If there was a cover up, Hunters couldn't tell me, because they had such poor record keeping. I was sent evidence of some record keeping with regards to something else (hello GDPR breach!) and it was full of typos and omissions.
Sales progression experience was horrific. Thankfully they eventually replaced the person, as I could go on and on with my list of what she did that was totally unprofessional, but worst bit is she could have put my children at risk if it had been a DV situation, as she told everyone in the chain my new address and all the addresses of everyone in the chain, repeatedly. I repeatedly complained about her and they left it far too late to do anything.
Absolutely appalling and this estate agent caused so much additional stress to what was already a horrific chain. I would not recommend to anyone.

TrustpilotDreadful Experience
We booked valuation. Confirmed twice no show. She eventually came late at night & we fell for the speel.
Big mistake just full of empty promises.
No response to phone calls or emails.
17 days before first viewing.
Buyers were not vetted as we were told.
Some hadn't even got their house on the market. It was a truly horrible experience.
Finally got a offer £30,000 below asking price! THEN I had an long email telling me we should take it !
They are beyond rubbish.
They take on too many clients & cannot give you the time.
They don't even ask if appointment is convenient to you.
One word ....Jokers
Two words....Avoid Avoid
If I could give zero stars I would

TrustpilotI had an exceptional experience working…
I had an exceptional experience working with Julie Decraene throughout my house purchase. From start to finish before passing onto the next agent for the further process of buying my house, her service was nothing short of outstanding. She made what can often be a stressful and complicated process feel smooth, straightforward, and incredibly efficient.
Julie was always professional, approachable, and highly responsive. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed promptly and clearly, which gave me a great deal of confidence and peace of mind. Her knowledge and expertise were evident at every stage, and she guided me through the process with ease, ensuring everything moved forward quickly without any unnecessary delays.
What truly stood out was how seamless she made the entire experience. The process of buying a house can be overwhelming, but Julie handled everything with such organisation and attention to detail that it felt effortless on my part. Her dedication and commitment to providing excellent service really shone through.
I am genuinely grateful for her support and would highly recommend Julie Decraene to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient, and professional service. She has made a significant milestone in my life an incredibly positive and stress-free experience.

GoogleDisorganised and poor communication. Was advised to collect the keys prior to moving in from their office on an agreed date, went there but was informed no keys. Had to deal with Kye who does not seem to care even though this was their mistake. Later in the week was told I need to make my own copy of keys which I don't think should be my responsibility. Lucy kept making mistakes on the tenancy agreement. They also have weird rules if you want to extend/continue the tenancy. Not a very pleasant letting agent to deal with.

TrustpilotExcellent experience with Hunters
We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

TrustpilotOne of my worst experience buying a house from hunters
One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

GoogleI stayed in a Hunters-managed flat for around 18 months, and my experience with Hunters Estate & Letting Agents Manchester has been very positive throughout.
A special thanks to Candice and Kye, they were both professional, responsive, and very helpful. Whenever I raised an issue, the response was quick, communication was clear, and problems were resolved without unnecessary delays.
What I really appreciated was their supportive and organised approach. From maintenance requests to general queries, everything was handled smoothly, making my tenancy completely stress-free. Candice, in particular, was always approachable and efficient, which made a big difference during my stay.
Overall, a reliable and well-managed letting agency. I would happily recommend Hunters Manchester to anyone looking for a positive renting experience.

Moving can be hectic, but Dulcie made it so simple with her support, prompt communication, and quick responses from the first viewing in Cullompton right through to the day I collected the keys. She was professional, reassuring, and always ready to help.
The team I met on key‑collection day was amazing, friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful.
Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.

TrustpilotRude, poor service - a must avoid for renters
Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

Offering competitive management rates along with a personal service has meant that I don’t need to worry about my properties being in safe hands. A special thanks to Kye for all his efforts to get me the best market rent and for Lucy making the onboarding process effortless. Highly recommend other landlords to put your trust into Hunters.

GoogleHunters Manchester were the letting agents for my 2-bedroom property for just under 2 years. Overall the management experience was very good. They found really good tenants, payments were on time, and they helped with all the repairs for the property. Special shoutout to Candice Wrigley and Lucy Hollister who handled all my queries.
There are just two things stopping it from being a 5 star:
1) Hunters are quite pricey, however you do get a great service for the price.
2) There were some repairs that Hunter's contacts took a while to fix. Unfortunately the tenants had to get in touch with me multiple times to get this resolved. It was resolved in the end but was a bit of a headache.

GoogleUpdate 30/08/25 we wrote to the ceo of hunters Harry hill on 05/08/25 and have had no response. Useless letting agent. Please ignore hunters comment below about the police as I have spoken with them weeks ago and they have advised no such thing. Hunters are liars. The police advised candice can not speak for anyone else but herself. Tenant has woken me twice this week at 2am. Candice does nothing. I have the fire and rescue report here. 2503004539 Is the incident number. Anyone who thinks a fire is acceptable in an apartment block after grenfell is crazy. Update 30/07/25. After 2 police raids where the police have gone through the front door, the tenant setting fire to the property and drug dealers appearing every few days candice at hunters still doesn’t respond to emails and refuses to do anything about her tenants. Do not use this agent they will ruin your life. Worst agent I’ve ever dealt with. Sadly cant leave zero stars, Do not use this letting agent, the lettings manager Candice lies to you, puts dodgy tenants in next door buying class a outside. Then when theres an issue with a dog barking blatantly lied about the dogs existence, once the council verified she still tried to say they hadnt got one! Since then numerous noise complaints with the tenants knocking banging and slamming doors at midnight -2am, Candice says its 'unfortunate' but theres nothing she can do! Utter rubbish, its a leasehold block of apartments, both the lease and law state no noise permitted that disturbs other residents after 11pm -7am! Oh and the books been passed to everyone else in the process, its not her issue speak to the freeholder, speak to the council, speak to the managing agents. All of which i did, the freeholder passed it back to her as shes supposed to manage the property on behalf of the landlord. Ive been asked to report it, keep noise logs, record it on my phone, all of which i have spent months doing for nothing, completely wasting my time. Seriously do not use this company, these sharks need weeding out of the industry. Updated at 29/01/24 police now involved and visited the tenants 3 times but they won’t answer the door, the council anti social behaviour department involved but still no response from hunters. Drink and drugs at the property and people in and out all Friday night til 7am sound recorded loud disturbance and blood outside front door. No reply from hunters. Absolutely do not use this company.

TrustpilotAwful customer service
I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

TrustpilotNightmare move
I used Hunters to sell my home after living there for approximately 35 years.
I want to acknowledge that the sale itself was complicated and involved significant delays, including probate and Land Registry issues. Hunters did work to keep the sale progressing, and I recognise the time and effort involved in that process.
However, my experience on completion day was extremely distressing.
I was still in the process of removing my belongings when the buyers and members of their family arrived at the property. My family and I were placed under considerable pressure to remove a lifetime of possessions as quickly as possible. My belongings were outside and in the street, and I felt deeply embarrassed, overwhelmed and humiliated by the circumstances.
I had expected the handover of my home to be handled in a calm and organised way. Instead, what should have been an important and emotional moment after 35 years in my home became one of the most distressing experiences I have ever had.
I raised a formal complaint with Hunters. The agency investigated the matter and explained that they had followed their usual procedures and were not aware that the buyers intended to attend the property at that time. I appreciate that Hunters were not present at the property and therefore could not comment directly on everything that happened there.
I also appreciate that the completion process itself is controlled by solicitors and that many aspects of the timing are outside an estate agent's control.
However, I remain deeply upset by the way the handover unfolded and by the experience I had on the day I left my home.
I believe clearer communication and better coordination of the physical move may have prevented the situation from becoming so distressing.
Having considered my experience and the response to my formal complaint, I would not recommend Hunters based on my experience of the completion and handover of my property.
This review reflects my personal experience and the impact the events of completion day had on me.

I rented an apartment through Hunters (Otley & Ilkley) for five years and honestly had a great experience the whole time. They were always quick to reply, super easy to deal with, and sorted any issues straight away - no chasing needed. Communication with the landlord was also really smooth thanks to them. Big thanks to Donna, Libby, and Leister for being so helpful and friendly over the years. Would definitely recommend Hunters if you're looking for a letting agent you can rely on.

TrustpilotNot transparent, poor communication, poor customer service
1. Not transparent, even though they have a duty to disclose issues with the property once asked.
When I asked why is a 2-bed in the city centre is only £995 (when I already knew the answer being ongoing construction site), they were purposely very vague.
He emailed, "Regarding the prices, there are a number of factors affecting a valuation of a property which include size, conditions, time of year, building etc."
2. Get clients names mixed up and books you in for the wrong viewings. Eg. I asked to see a £995 2 bed property but they linked me to a £1300 property. I had to correct them.
They also kept emailing me and calling me Chris when I said several times I am not Chris. Worrying early signs of poor communication, little to no client care.
3. Viewings are incomplete - why schedule a viewing of the property, only for me to turn up and that is when you say there is a communal laundry room but I am not allowed to view it. After the viewing I emailed back and this was their response:
"The communal laundry rooms are on the stairs, one per floor. At the moment we don’t have capacity for second viewings unfortunately.
I made it clear from the beginning of my enquiry that I wanted to find a quiet home to rent and no drama. Clearly, the initial contact and viewing experience already hints there will be drama, probably worse if I did sign a contract with Hunters.

TrustpilotMy experience selling a property in the…
My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”
