TrustpilotHorrible post-completion service for new-builds
If you are buying a home from this developer, advise factoring / demanding an additional 5-10% discount to any pricing, to accommodate all the issues the developer will delay / refuse to fix properly. We closed on our new home from Crest in April 2022. Since then, it has been issue after issue, and some are quite serious. We had an electrical short that cause a 1 month delay in moving in AFTER CLOSING. which the developer avoided explaining what the issue was to this day. Moreover, we currently have a serious defect with the boiler and associated piping, causing residue build-up and inefficient heating alongside potential damage to the boiler. The developer customer support has avoided and delayed fixes, offering work that would require wall pulling and pipe-cutting (and leave us without heating on the coldest time of year) without offering any documentation of guarantees or responsibility towards the impact of the works. It has gotten to a point where our emails and calls go unanswered, all of which will be reflected with brutal honesty in the upcoming 9 month NHBC survey btw. we are now contemplating legal action to fund the costs of the work required.again, it seems pretty much all UK developers have dropped their standards, so not much escaping these issues, however hope this serves as a warning to any potential Crest buyers: factor in another 5-10% discount to the home in preparation to fixing these issues yourself, or else you will be waiting endlessly for the developer to resolve in a very rushed and "hack-job" manner.
